Perfect restaurant with friendly staff and phenomenal food 😍 I got the surprise menu, which was huge, so many dishes with meat and seafood and tasty desserts! The owner’s wife is so sweet, she was such good company and loved talking to her, super proud of the restaurant👍 The mesa Madrid is one of the five restaurants in Switzerland that is Spanish authentic restaurants with very fresh ingredients and tasty dishes! I personally can’t thank them enough! My favourite dish was the cod, very tender and paired with perfect sauce!

Excellent Spanish food! Probably the best Spanish I have tried in Zurich. Their meats are excellent. The lamb is outstanding! The Iberico pork is also unbelievable. Only one suggestion, they should have better side dishes. There is no interesting veggie side dish such as spinach or grilled asparagus etc. The price is on the high side, but given the high quality and excellent service in expensive ZH, somehow it is still justified occasionally. Maybe reconsider the pricing of your starters, croquettes at 32 chf for 4 seems a bit exorbitant even for ZH.

Comfort food on a very high level served in a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by a world class wine selection. That about sums it up best. At dinner you can choose between 4 to 8 dishes from either a vegetarian or an omnivore menu. I am pretty sure you can mix between those menus as well. The dishes are focused, unpretentious yet never simple and first and foremost super yummy - The Michelin star shines bright here. Wine list is among the best in town, full of rare and aged bottles at extremely fair prices. Thanks to Coravin the by-the-glass selection lives up as well. Service is doing an impeccable job of making you feel homey. All in all, one of the best restaurants in Zurich.

Spanish restaurant, fancy but honest. High quality ingredients, the raw fish was delicious! Service was very friendly and attentive - definitely worth visiting with dear friends.

Came here for dinner at night with my partner on our holiday to Switzerland. We had the three course, one entrement one main and one dessert. A highlight for us was the complimentary appetizers courtesy of the kitchen was really good and a great way to start the pace. Entrements, red mullet and swiss pork was tasty with the red mullet the best with the crispy elements it had. For mains, the duck had a good crispy skin with succulent meat. My halibut was okay but felt the sauce was little too salty for my liking. The main thing that stand out for us was actually the service which was impeccable. Staff were very attentive to detail and cared to watch out when we needed wine top and next course out at the right time. This made it a great night when combined together.

5-course menu was really inventive and interesting. All of us greatly appreciated the evening - attentive staff, good food and wine. It's on the expensive side of the Zurich restaurant scene, but it's quite good.

Update: this review is for the chef Sebastian Roesch who was a chef here at the time of my visit. Dining at Mesa was the most profound culinary experience. We came here for a special occasion and had a 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The service was exceptional, everyone was professional and very friendly. The food was out of this world! Unexpected flavors and textures, combining ingredients in a unique way. Absolutely will be back!

A must do for gourmets. Excellent - beautiful presentation of the dishes with love for detail; each one was a perfect work of art. Each course offered and exciting new combination of tastes, consistencies and temperatures. A very aromatic and sensual experience. We chose the 5 course dinner menu. The portions are small with pauses between servings, with good reason (really take your time to dine and savour the experience). I felt leaving neither hungry, nor full after already having had a big lunch. If you are moderately hungry, definitely take 7 courses or more. Difficult for me to imagine how this culinary experience can be topped. Be sure to go before the end of this year - the owner is retiring.

Amazing experience, recommended for a special occasion! The restaurant has approx. ten tables, so the atmosphere is quiet and cozy. The main room is nicely furnished, with a lighted wall giving an orange shade to the rest of the room. We opted for the Chef’s Choice, consisting of a delicious 7-course tasting menu. The menu included a mix of fish (salmon and scallops) and meat (veal). They had a wide wine choice, especially for wines by the glass. The staff is kind and attentive. It is located a bit outside the city center, but easily reachable with public transportation or by car.

A place for an incredible culinary experience in a classic stylish but modern atmosphere. The staff is very young, friendly and helpful and the dishes are a superb mix between great taste and different flavour surprises and are very well portioned. The prizes are very moderat and fair compared to other restaurants in zurich with the same fine dining experience. The atmosphere is very calm and quiet because the tables are enough faar from each other, so the sound level is never too high. Probably the most prize worthy fine dining restaurant in Zurich.

We ordered the tasting menu with 7 courses. The serving size is generous. All dishes were elaborated and tasty. Great if you love seafood and meat. The selection of Spanish wine is great and feel free to ask guidance. The staff are very friendly and add to the experience. Can’t wait to come again

A journey into Spain fines. I have not been here for a while but was surprised to rediscover this place again. It's a completely reinvented concept of the previous restaurant, now with very high quality standards. If you're a foodie, then you will certainly appreciate. We had well thought through, rich but balanced starters. Then 30days aged stakes. The dessert was very authentic. Would highly recommend.

Completely out of the market value. The food was fairly good but the prices outrageous. The service was lovely, though.

A lovely setting which works regardless of season; warm and welcoming service, a team who are knowledgeable , respectful, discreet but not robotic, aspirational food, a staggering wine list. I literally can not fault it ( except I ate more of the amazing bread than any human my size should ;)) - thrilled to live close by but a place I would definitely travel for! Fabulous. Consistently!

Fantastic place and team, a dreamy paradise to savor the finest great wines and top product from Spain. Elegance and quality. Esmeralda and Carlos extend a warm welcome with an extraordinary glass of Cava. They are the best ambassadors of Spanish Gastronomy in Zurich and probably one of the best in Switzerland! In the top wine restaurants in the city!
