Excellent stay at one of the top hotels in Zurich. My expectations were met in terms of service, cleanliness and price to value ratio. Outside of the room, we also had the 8 course meal at the restaurant and breakfast as well — both of which were great dining experiences. The massage at the spa was relaxing and the facilities themselves were above par. I appreciated being able to do a cold plunge after every steam bath! Be sure to hit the outdoor jacuzzi facing the snow-capped mountains. Lastly, the art collection is excellent. Be sure to take time if you’re into that. Enjoy your stay!

This is a five stars + palace which deserves it. Of course prices are expensive but the room is perfect, the amenities also, the spa and fitness room will make your day, the dinner and the breakfast are full of choices and flavors, the view is nice and you have the opportunity to walk (or jog) in the forest nearby. The reason I only give four stars in my rating is because there are some details you cannot afford to let go in a palace : coming back from running, having my covid pass but not my ID, it took some time to explain to the security guard I was a client ; at the restaurant I did not like dogs (with their mistress) to be seated almost on my laps, it bothers me when I try to enjoy my meal and it took some time and discussion for the waiters to find a solution. Those small disturbances are not what I expect for the price paid in a five stars hotel. But I will definitely come back, hoping these small problems will not occur again.

This review is for the English afternoon tea experience. My husband and I are obsessed with afternoon teas. Wherever we are in the world we must try the hotel's selection of afternoon tea. Without a doubt this is one of the best afternoon tea experience we ever had. The savouries and sweets are gourmet and pretty delicate. It melts in your mouth. Absolutely fantastic. The ambience was lovely too. It is set in the lobby and we were sat next to the fireplace which is very atmospheric due to the cackling of the wood. The service was also top. From the friendly valet service to all the receptionists greeting you when you step in the door. Impressive. The server was also very attentive. Suffice to say we had a fantastic time and this will not be our last time there.

My parents in law from overseas stayed at the Dolder Grand with us for four nights. The hotel is just splendid, rooms stylish yet adorable, great view. Service is fitting the hotel category, some staff was outstanding. Food is good, sometimes a bit long delivery time. Wine card is exceptional and we found a rare Margeaux. All over all top notch! We‘ll come again.

Very nice location. The staff is extremely professional and kind. I used the spa services and it is one of the best place where you could go to relax. They have an interior swimming pool, exterior jacuzzi, dry and wet sauna and a "winter room" + bath with warm rocks. The products that they use for facial treatments and massage are one of the best and the personal was very kind. I will definitively go again.

Lovely and clean hotel, outdoor pool areas was amazing, you’ve also got a small pool just to the right that is very quiet so good if you want to get away from all the games. Food was really good, I found the Lunch time menu 1-3pm was amazing. Rooms were very clean and tidy. lifts are a little pain but you do get use to it. Loved it so much that I booked in February to come back the day I was leaving.

Location, SPA and top notch service for one of the best hotels you can find in Switzerland. Spending time wandering around in the hotel is a pleasure on its own with all the art pieces around. On the SPA side Greta and Felix offered us some great treatments, only complaint might be the number of chairs available in spa which can be limited if you cant sit outside. Thanks for a great experience.

I usually don't write reviews but this one warrants one. We enjoy exploring new cities & great hotels & since we were in Zurich, we decided to spend one of the nights at the Dolder. The good is the view & the convenience to get to the city. The spa was okay. The cons, in summary, way overpriced for the value. 1- When you stay in a 5 star hotel, you want to feel a bit welcomed, the staff were very cold, we were a couple of hours early & they said they would call us when the rooms were ready so we went for a stroll, never got a call & finally one hour past the check in time we got to the lobby & they simply forgot to call, not a big deal, so we checked in at 4PM but sure would have liked to be in by 3 PM. 2-. The food was average, the bar service is poor, had to wait to ask for our drinks & took forever to get our check. 3- The room had tons of ants around fortunately didn't see any in our bed. 4- Bed was extremely uncomfortable. 5- While we sat in our balcony from our room, we couldn't enjoy it as we could smell smoke from the neighboring rooms We mentioned this during our checkout, didn't seem they cared. My opinion, there are other hotels that you can get more value for your money, last time we would be in this hotel.

Amazing hotel placed above Zurich but very close to the city. Beautiful old historical building with two new modern wings added. Luxury rooms, nice spa, two restaurants (one of it 2 Michelin stars). Golf course is one minute from the hotel. If you like you can take historical funicular to get the hotel from Zurich. Hotel offers e-bikes for hotel guests.

This review is for Day Spa (not hotel or restaurants). Lovely spa, kind staff, luxurious surroundings. Of course all of that comes at cost but we were treating ourselves (and are in Switzerland!). My treatment (hydraheaven was indeed heavenly!) was wonderful, and while the joint spa area is very small, the women's spa area is delightful (just not good if you want to spend time with any male friends/partners). Spa cafe food was okay too! Eating truffle fries while you are wearing a bathrobe on a sun lounger watching the beautiful view of Zurich was an excellent experience ;-)

had an corporate event there. The rooms I can‘t rate. Everyone there is super friendly and nice. But the location is terrible, like 100 years away from the trainstation… but the building is very beautiful and to clarify if you go there for holidays take a cab but for work you can’t 😉 great and amazing hotel.

I cannot fault this hotel. It is stunning with such a brilliant team of colleagues there to help you. They LOVE doggies too, even allowing us to bring our well behaved pooch/family member to dinner, such a nice touch. Perfect for a weekend to spoil yourself. No ear plugs required. We even saw the first snow!

We were in Zurich for Christmas and landed a reservation for the pop-up restaurant in the Dolder Grand hotel. It was amazing, the food was so good and lived up to the double Michelin star chef. Get in while you can, because the theme will change within 3 months. We look forward to coming back next year!

The Dolder Grand is a superb, luxury stay with incredible facilities, great restaurants and amazing staff. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Spa and pool facilities second to none. Views over Zurich are amazing. It is $$$$.. but hey it is Switzerland 🇨🇭

I went there for a wine tasting, hence I cannot comment on rooms and hotel service, but on hosting services and organization I can say one thing - excellent! 🤗 the staff was very professional and extremely operative, they would work behind the scenes like bees and you would not notice that everything is kept nice and tidy because of them 🐝 I saw the room pricec on Google Maps and it now makes sense - for those kind of money one would expect only perfection 🤓

I visited here for Day Spa. Facilities are top, there are multiple bathes and areas including cafe, relaxation room, massage rooms, ladies only zone, pool, sauna, steam bath, exterior zone etc... But personally, I felt that water temperature was a little bit cold especially in the pool. The place was huge and kept all clean. You can come only with your swimming suit, towels and amenities are all prepared. Massage was also great, friendly staff and well followed my body condition. I'm totally satisfied with Dolder spa. Strongly recommend.

Wonderful weekend brunch! WOW. What a very VERY special treat and an extraordinary place, service and bites. A three hour multi course extravaganza with a view. It is pricey but if you want to celebrate a special occasion or have a long and important conversation this is your place.

I did not spend the night but rather just enjoyed the spa, which is truly top-notch. The attention to detail, cleanliness and the overall ambiance of the place are second to none. There is a mixed steam&sauna area as well as a women's only area. The outdoor infinity hot tub with its breathtaking view is an absolute highlight.

Went for the brunch. Selection is OK, but service everything but not what 5* would be a standard, at least on date date we went. The present location of the brunch serving is also not exciting, especially knowing the rest of the hotel. It is a pity. Personally, I am not in a hurry to return for the brunch, but definitely for dinners.

We ent for Sunday brunch and it was a lovely affair with excellent food and drink, a great atmosphere, much of the food served at the table (rather than a crowded buffet), and the view was lovely despite the clouds. Staff was very professional and amenable, so it was pure joy. Highly recommended.

The Dolder Grand is a world class hotel. Simply met every single expectation, the staff was clever, polished, on point, helpful and polite. Art in every corner. The room (we had the Junior Suite Deluxe, with balcony) was spacious and the tub was an oasis of relaxation. The spa had everything you could ask for, pools, multiple saunas, hot tubs, ice room, hot stone baths, relaxation rooms, anything you needed to unwind AND it was delightfully child free. The Restaurant was the belle of the ball. Total 5 star meal with witty fun service. The Saltz also 5 star with clever dishes and a great breakfast (truly the best breakfast in Europe I’ve had). Canvas Bar was 4 star (service was very slow but the drinks were amazing) Amazing stay. Also thank you to Davide at the front desk did a great job at welcoming us to the hotel. Just an amazing staff.

There are two sides of this hotel, the old and new and the modern part of the best part. The spa is good, I would say 4/5 subjectively, however I could say the natural view and it's location is 5 star. In addition, there is a Michelin star restaurant Salt which is a top one too. The overall experience of this is great.

Many may not realise that the Dolder Grand Hotel is more than just a wonderful residence overlooking majestic Zurich. It is also one of the nicest places you can go to enjoy a glass of champagne accompanied by incredible patisserie amongst one of the greatest views of Zurich you can imagine. The best time to go is mid afternoon, where the crowds are minimal and you can get a wonderful seat outside to enjoy some of the delectable cakes prepared by the in house chefs. Service is prompt and knowledgeable. Quality is what one would expect from the Dolder Grand. A very enjoyable afternoon for couples looking for something special.

The Dolder Grand lived up to the hype. We had pretty high expectations and they delivered on all aspects. From the moment you walk into the lobby to the check out goodbye, all was outstanding. This is a high end famous hotel in Zurich, located on a hill pretty much in the forest with a stunning view of the city, a golf course and lake Zurich. Everything about the hotel is 5 stars and luxurious, from rooms to service and fine dining. We were upgraded to a nice room with a balcony and an expansive view. Room was perfect although I think they can get better bedding and more luxurious mattress but this almost always lacking in Europe in my experience. You have a direct access to the forest which was convenient for a quick hike and a run in the morning. Their spa and gym is spacious and very well equipped. There are even couple studios that run classes almost everyday. They have a 2 Michelin stars restaurant called The Restaurant which is a MUST while you are there, they got some exquisite courses and creative artistic menu paired well with a fantastic wine menu. They offer a daily breakfast buffet at their other restaurant Saltz which offered some fine breakfast items plus a a very well prepared La carte menu courses. In room dining and housekeeping were both prompt and efficient. Staff were all nice, courteous and friendly. Concierge was very helpful in planning sightseeing and hiking for us with maps, tips and directions, they even provided us with a complimentary hotel car for road-trips around Switzerland. Definitely will highly consider if in Zurich.

We went for drinks at the bar, mid afternoon. Not crowded, great service. You don't really get a clear view of Lake Zurich, was nicer to sit inside.

We stayed at The Dolder Grand for 5 nights and had two suites for our family of four people!! The hotel is beautiful! The staff is amazing and very attentive to our needs. This hotel is NOT kid friendly as we had our 7 year old with us and he was not able to use the pools or spa. They should have kid hours during a certain time of the day, so the kids under 12 can use the spa facility supervised by a parent. My son well mannered and is accustomed to using spas as we travel a lot with him, so we were disappointed that he could never go with us to the spa during our 5 day stay. We only wished we had a fridge and microwave in our rooms as the location is not walking distance to local markets or food spots to eat late at night. We took the Uber often into the city as the taxi service was double to price, which suck. We did a lot of touring in the Alps, Lucrene, Jungfraujoch, etc. so we did not get a chance to enjoy the hotel restaurants as all or visit the spa as often as we would like. The spa is absolutely beautiful, clean and has everything you would want in a spa. The level of customer service was OUTSTANDING during our entire stay!!

Absolutely breathtaking! The view from the hotel was nothing short of spectacular. I was completely captivated by the stunning vistas that stretched as far as the eye could see. This experience made my stay truly unforgettable, and I can't wait to return!

Horrible stay at the dolder. Lost restaurant reservations, serious allergy oversights endangering my health, room light malfunctions disrupting sleep, it turned on multiple times in the middle of the night, premature checkout card deactivation, mishandling of luggage and car not charged despite specific request. Lack of understanding and compensation from management. Expected better service and attention to detail. This is definitely not the hotel of the year it's a scam. Only staff that where good was the awesome driver of the shuttle and some people at the spa. Hotel of the year should the FS Geneva

This place is nothing short of incredible! I stayed here with my family for our vacation. From the moment we pulled up until the time we had an emergency exit, this place, the staff, and the service were the BEST! Markus Dorner (head concierge) and Luka gave us the best food recommendations and the best places to optimize our stay for the 2 days we were in Zurich. The Spa is INCREDIBLE! The food is amazing. The rooms are so comfy. I can't rave about this place enough. The thing that earned our love and loyalty is the customer service. We had checked out on the second day and were headed to drop off our rental car. We had just turned the corner out of the valet when we got a flat tire. We were on our way to the airport! Our flight took off in 2 hours! I for sure thought we were going to miss it. I ran up to the valet again and found Markus at the concierge desk and told him my predicament. He wasn't even phased. All he said was, “Do not worry, we will drive you and I will take care of your car.” I was stunned, embarrassed, and incredibly grateful. He didn't hesitate at all. He went and grabbed a driver. We all got in a car and we drove down to my rental, got my luggage and the driver got us to our flight ON TIME! I got a call from Markus as I was walking onto the plane that everything was taken care of. The resort is great but the service is spectacular! I am so grateful to The Dolder Grand for allowing its employees to take quick action when needed and address the customer's concerns as they see fit. It saved us big time! Thank you guys!

The personal service here is by far the best. I stepped on my glasses and gave them to the concierge (Luca) without hoping much. When we came back after a few hours, Luca had them fixed, and the service was complimentary.

It was my first time at the Dolder (celebrating a company Christmas party) and the evening was absolutely magical. While the food was exquisite, the venue stunning and the service fantastic, what really constituted the cherry on top was the waitress Annina Manser. She provided that extra spark to the evening and was the final confirmation of how deserving the Dolder Grand is of its sterling reputation.

This is supposedly a 5 star hotel, but the service is sub-zero. First my room wasn’t ready and we lost nearly two hours before being able to check in the correct room. Second day they cleaned the room and took the tea cup and tea pot, so I asked at 16h for a new set, I asked again at 16h30, 17h nothing happened, then someone popped up in my room by chance asking me if I need something I told him I was waiting fir my tee pot, after another hour they brought tea cups but still not no tee pot at 18h. At 19h15, the turn down servie team came in my room, I asked them about a tea pot they brought it 5 minutes later so after more than 3 hours I finally had it, I went down to meet the manager on duty informed her about the incident and also told her that my phone wasn’t working any more and that they needed to send a technician to fix it. Never hear about her any more nor dis anyone try to fix the phone. It was as if I talked to a wall. I finally gave up trying to get anything done for me in this hotel. I rate the service team 0, except for the turn down lady who did her job and solved my issue in 5 minutes

Exceptional hotel. Food is world class and beverage offering is plentiful. Staff are possibly the best I have encountered in any hotel or resort. Beds are what you might call rock hard... So if that's not your thing, proceed with caution.

We went for brunch, good food but terrible service. For a 5 star hotel they have no clue. Totally overpriced. You can get food equally good, with better service and for half the price at dozens of other hotels/ restaurants. Even the terrace was dirty and the waiters have no plan.

Amazing hotel. Great quality. Couldn't have asked for more ! There is a spa , breakfast buffet with the rooms ( be aware that although they say they open at 7 am the food wasn't out untill after 8 am. Not sure if this was a one off situation. We didn't get breakfast like we wanted that day and instead were stick eating bread as we had to leave by 8am ). The day we had breakfast it was amazing but the let down the second day put a downer on our trip.

Lovely ambience. Starter was great- had beef tartare on brioche Set back was the main dish. Had the fish and wasnt great. Waiter tried to make up by offering pralines. They were delicious but couldnt compensate for missing out on a main dish. Considering when one travels for good food! Chef needs to do better since restaurant is in a magnificent hotel

I have been to the day spa. It was lovely. Entry fee is redeemed against treatments. Although it sounds expensive, I believe it is fair price especially considering Switzerland.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Dolder, and while I cannot deny that the hotel is grand and impressive, I found that it lacked a certain soul that I've come to expect from 5-star resorts. While the amenities and facilities at the hotel were top-notch, and my stay was quite comfortable, I couldn't help but notice that the atmosphere felt somewhat cold and unwelcoming. In particular, I noticed that the employees changed quite frequently, and this seemed to have a negative impact on the overall work atmosphere. The service I received was adequate, but it lacked the warmth and genuine hospitality that one might expect from a luxury resort. To be fair, the Hotel Dolder is a beautiful property, and it's clear that a lot of effort has gone into creating a stunning and elegant environment. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. The hotel's spa facilities are also excellent, offering a wide range of treatments and services that are sure to appeal to those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. However, in my opinion, the lack of a warm and welcoming atmosphere is a significant drawback. While the Hotel Dolder is undoubtedly a luxurious property, it falls short when compared to other 5-star resorts that prioritize a genuine and hospitable experience for their guests. Thank you.....

This was a fantastic hotel, 15 minutes outside of town centre. The staff went out of their way to provide everything we asked for, and during covid, that was extremely helpful. The beds were too firm for our taste , but could not fault anything else. Definitely well worth a stay at the Dolder.

Gstaad palace has had its crown taken away by the Dolder Grand… one of the best finds in the world and certainly in Switzerland. Amazing place and service. The 500 page book on their recent history was a charming touch that gave insight into the amazing staff that built and run this place. Personal pride and effort clearly go into every detail. Additionally, salt is a fantastic restaurant and the spa is possibly the best in the world. Again, it’s the personal touch of people who clearly genuinely care about running one of the world’s best hotels.

Great hotel, a bit outside of Zurich but convenient to come by car, their concierge is very nice and took care of every detail including charging the electric vehicule. Rooms are spacious and modern, the spa is amazing but not mix, so if you want to enjoy with your husband/wife it’s not the most convenient but they offer amazing and modern services. Thank you again for the warm welcome

This experience you could only find in the luxury hotel

The best place to stay in Zurich. It is an old castle with modern accommodations (also there are classic units). I have been in the modern wing, which is perfectly designed to the best comfort and classy. The hotel has two great restaurants which one of them has one Michelin star. The Spa is amazing, with many options of massages and relaxing atmosphere. The view of Zurich lake and the golf course on top, is beautiful.

The overall experience is superb. Impressed by its spa facility - covers various age groups and functions. The hotel built on the hill that provides a panoramic view of the city and lake. The service and hospitality are great The downside is that the room door is super heavy but it's not very sound-proof....and the bed is way too soft that makes the sleep a bit difficult...

Rooms in the new building are pretty cold, very business like, but large. The decorations of the hotel is very swiss German which is a shame when you have that kind of history. The same goes with the music in the bar and the pieces of modern art that are not always of great taste. The food is great overall and the staff very professional. I will come back to try a room in the old building and the Spa that is apparently fantastic.

Treated myself on a spa day here. Facilities are incredible and totally worth the price. Massage quality i found average and for this price below the acceptable. Also the experience of the massage my expectations are higher, i want a ritual to relax me and not a “come in, lay down and we start”. Spa cafe was good with good choices. However i found that presentation of food and drinks is below acceptable level for price. Overall i’d go again but will take a massage elsewhere in Zurich. Would appreciate if spa credit can also be used in spa cafe:

Our stay at the Dolder Grand was nothing short of phenomenal. The staff were extremely accommodating. The room and amenities were amazing (spa, pool, gym are all top notch compared to other hotels in Switzerland). On our final night in Switzerland, I accidentally misplaced my clothes and the staff at the Dolder Grand reached out and helped me retrieve my clothes. They were extremely helpful in setting up shipping so that I could retrieve them in the United States. Would stay here again. The new standard of travel is here at the Dolder Grand.

Everything was perfect. From the second we entered to the moment we left. The check in was flawless. We were shown to our room by a lovely young woman (Teresa) who informed us about all the amenities and gave us a little tour of this elegant hotel. We had a beautiful room with a comfortable bed and an amazing bathroom. We were surprised with a delicious little birthday cake for my husband. The room overlooked the lake of Zurich. If it weren't for the spa, we may have never left the room. The hotel is filled with unusual art pieces and is worth the time for a good look around. The breakfast was as extravagant as the hotel. Vast selections of juices, fruits breads cheeses. Honestly it was whatever you could want. Check out was a breeze and Angelina was kind and thoughtful, making sure we had enjoyed our stay to the fullest. It was a Grand experience.

Our Saturday at Dolder Grand was a revelation, thanks to our concierge's ace recommendation. We decided to dive into the Cheese Fondue Lodge, where we were hit with a welcome that was like a warm hug from a long-lost friend. This girl at Dolder Grand's Cheese Fondue Lodge? She's a ingenious gem. My husband, who thinks he's all that with his five languages, met his match. This little language whiz made our night a riot of laughter and surprises. It wasn't just about the fondue – it was the unexpected joy of this girl flipping languages like it was nothing. Dolder Grand isn't your run-of-the-mill winter scene. It's a curated experience, not just with seasonal decor, but infused with character and wit courtesy of an exceptional team. It's not about having 'staff'; it's about hosting a league of intellectual connoisseurs, a unique rarity that transforms a hotel into a haven of brilliance.
