Unsafe accommodations, false advertising, dishonest employees, poor service. 1) Our room door was left open and unlocked by housekeeping for an entire day during our stay here. When we arrived back to the hotel late at night, our keys were missing and the door was open. We were told by front desk staff that they would address it with a manager the next day during business hours and get back to us. The next day we followed up and the same front desk staff person we spoke to the night before said “honestly I just didn’t talk to my manager about it today” and then said he couldn’t contact his manager at this time because it was after hours. 2) Hotel advertises that they have air conditioning but it doesn’t go below 24 C/76 F. We complained 3 times about it, and each time we were told by front desk that an engineer would come look at it. After the third time an engineer supposedly came to look at it, it still was not working and we asked to switch rooms. At this point the front desk person finally told us that it just doesn’t work throughout the hotel and that it would be the same in any other room

I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but we found this hotel exactly what we needed. The room was clean, quiet and well decorated. The front desk team and breakfast team were friendly and the breakfast was tasty with a lot of selection. It’s so close to the Oerlikon train station which means good access to everything. I would consider this hotel again next time I’m in Zurich.

Our stay was lovely! We are so close to public transportation and the hotel was so accommodating! I would love to highlight Martin who was an absolute pleasure to speak with. He was so kind and really helped us with all of our questions! He is very knowledgeable and personable!

This is my second stay in this hotel, and both times it was because of horrible flight problems which required a reliable night in Zurich. Martin from the front desk took great care of me at check in, helping me get food and amenities when I arrived with nothing because of lost luggage. Amazing care and great facilities

Didn’t use the room but I had a 3 day conference organised by the University of Zurich which we occupied the whole conference area. The highlight was the break time coffee and food! Vegan options from snacks, fruits and milk were offered and that’s so nice. Easy access from Oerlikon Train station literally like 4mins 😅 if you walk on high speed like me

I LOVED this place! I was traveling for work and did the majority of my travel alone and these guys were absolutely fantastic. They made me feel super comfortable and as if I was in a "home" away from home. One of the main receptionists was very, very lovely. I enjoyed talking to him. I hope to stay again! Also the beds are amazingly comfortable and the rooms are super quiet. 10/10.

I am a regular guest of the Café Breakfast Buffet when I have off-days or during the weekends. In terms of Breakfast item selections and consistency, the meals were very good to great. Drinks include coffee, tea, milk, orange or apple juices, and either carbonated or still water. Ice is available upon request. The selection of bread and toast with jams, chocolate spreads, as well as yogurts (fresh or packaged), salmon with sweet horseradish sauce, fruits, tomatoes and cucumber, ham slices, salami, etc., and a heavy duty, industrial grade Coffee machine. This place is excellent for large groups, individuals, families, travelers, office staff, airline employees, tourists,..... There is a Coffee and Tea/Apero Lounge area that is integrated into the Lobby Foyer layout. There are snacks available for the waiting area as well. And for additional functions and space, there are banquet facilities further down for parties, seminars, etc. Try the Breakfast Buffet first. This place is accessible to Buses, Train (8 minutes walk from Oerlikon HB), and across the street from a mini-mall with a Coop Supermarket and Grocery store. They had a Business Center, but the layout changed this format. Very convenient, practical, pragmatic, very serene and quiet.

Warning - FRAUD Alert! Hotel bills for cancelled reservation! I booked a room here through Marriott direct on June 14 for a stay September 9 to 11. Cancellation policy was - " You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time on Thursday, September 8, 2022 (1 day[s] before arrival)." .. my plans changed and I actually canceled the room the SAME day, June 14. This week (Sep 15) I get notice of a $69 CHF charge on my credit card which posts on September 17. This is a fraudulent charge for a stay that was cancelled. This hotel appears to be trying to slip a charge through that won't be noticed. WARNING - avoid this hotel! If they try to do things like this when you don't stay there.. imagine what they might try if you actually do stay!

Loved this hotel in Zürich. The people are so kind and helpful. Food is delicious! The hotel is situated close to a train station which makes travelling around a breeze. Do yourself a favor and stay here when visiting Zürich!

Stayed 2 nights and not at all what is expected of from any place associated with Marriott. Disappointing. Well, being in the busy season i guess you get what you pay for and it was a tad bit economical but even then it was disappointing. Could have gotten much better places in the price. We chose it coz it had the association with Marriott. But the breakfasts were very disappointing, the room was shabby, for the kids they had added a folding bed in a room, the showers kept doing hot and cold unevenly every time we took showers. all in all, very disappointing. Staff was very helpful though.

The room was very comfortable. The staff ensured adequate bedding was provided for people with kids. The supermarket Coop is right next to the hotel and also the COOP restaurant is right in front after crossing the red light where you get a good breakfast buffet too. Public transport is right next to the hotel.

Courtyard by Marriott in Zurich is must recommended. It is very nice, well maintained and calm hotel. You can stay relaxed and undisturbed if you are traveling for vacations or even business trip. I was here few days back with my parents and from the reception till the breakfast in the morning every young gentleman were very friendly, respectful and gentle. The hotel is hardly 5-10 minutes away from airport..and 2-3 stops from hauptbahnhof (Zurich Central Station). Nicholas, Jeremy along with one more gentleman at the reception are also very helpful and fantastic gentleman. Thanks to the whole team.

The location was perfect close to town & airport. The stay was great too due to helpful staffs especially the agent who check me in including the manager Agustin & all the restaurant & housekeeping staffs. However the hotel itself seems really old & it doesn't give us the impression that we are staying at a Marriott. You'll sense, especially if you use the towels, as well as how the bathroom & room smell. The carpet was also not really clean, the room I stayed had some stains on the carpet. However the breakfast was fantastic.

It is a good choice if you need to be in Oerlikon for business, as it was my case. Not too far from city centre, not even 10 min by train but also served by trams. Perhaps too expensive to be in a suburb. Quiet room with view on internal court available.

What works for me: - the price is low by Swiss standard. - they have very friendly staff - one min walk to Coop (the largest Swiss supermarket) and 6-7 min walk to train station - the neighborhood is quiet and safe - close to airport Yet what I don’t like: - room is not big.. feel cramped for family of 3. - Marriott members don’t get any real perks.. I am a Platinum member and I usually get some nice perks. - it isn’t exactly near any tourist attractions but that’s why they are way more affordable. There u have it… I will still stay there when my budget is tight and ok to not live close to town.

Having our fabulous time during our 7 nights here. Their bed is so comfortable. Ms Dewa & Martin assisted us on early check in, which enables us to freshen up after 18 hours flights. The hotel is located near to the train station, about 5 min walk. Pretty strategic. Away from noisy city centre. Also, COOP (the huge grocery store) are just a stone throw away. Bus station is Right infront of the hotel. Easily accessible by bus and train. COOP eatery is also right in front of the hotel. Definitely will recommend to friends to stay here.

Pathetic service. The rooms were not in good condition. The bathroom shower was leaking and they asked us to shift to another room when we checked in at 11 p.m. with a 6 yrs old kid after a day long travel. The other room was smaller in size with no view . The bathroom basin was blocked and when complained , said nobody is available and suggested to change the room after one day stay. So basically for any issue you have one option to keep hopping around different rooms in the hotel. Also, when we checked in at night , one more family with 3 PPL checked in just before us and the guy at the reception gave them 3 bottles of water as complimentary and when we asked he suggested we buy from the market at night. No courtesy, no service . I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

No ,the experience of stay at hotel courtyard mariott has been very bad with arrogant and rude staff at the reception counter. Every day same old breakfast menu, routine one leads to boredom. Rooms are very very small, not worth the money paid. Overall experience was bad.

Hotel bills for cancelled reservation! I booked a room here and my plans changed due to Covid symptoms (flight also cancelled and they did not charge anything) and I actually canceled the room with the same reason but no exception on the cancellation charges. They have charged $362 CHF even when I mentioned that its due to Covid I can not travel.

I booked this hotel 2nd week of August. I complained about Refrigerator and room smoke smell in night. No one take care. I made contact morning staff and shift manager man and manager women was rude and have no manners how to deal with customers. I never ever recommend/book this hotel again. Higher management should make service better and educate staff to improve customer service.

The best location I have ever seen among all Marriott Hotels I’ve visited. Sergei was very helpful, it was a pleasure to be greeted by him and the tips to get around were very useful btw. I rate the service with the 3 star because of the very early closure of the restaurant and absence of staff to buy a drink at evening time.

This is a poorly run property. Front desk is often abandoned leaving lineups of people to check in, or with questions, and when they return they offer no explanation or apologies. I’ve stayed in this hotel approximately once per month for four years. If it weren’t in such a convenient location, I would find another option.

No one at checkin desk. Waited 10+ minutes for someone to show up. Not the fault of the gentleman on duty at the time; he was doing the best he could trying to handle the whole hotel. But this is unacceptable for anyone, let alone someone with gold+ status. U.S. outlet in room doesn’t work. When I called down to ask for an adapter to substitute for the fact that THEIR outlet is faulty, they didn’t have any left and told me I was out of luck. What the heck! Refrigerator in room broken and not working at all. Again, I called them and ask them to either fix it or send up a temporary one for me to use because I had stuff that had to go into the fridge. Once again, I was told there’s nothing they could do. $50 worth of food going to spoil. Room is clean and big (for Europe standards) and the location is decent. Towels are very worn out and need to be replaced. No coffee maker in room (as advertised, a disappointment), telephone was unplugged. Requests through the Marriott app went ignored. These are minor details compared to the above issues (delayed checkin, non-working outlet and refrigerator), but disappointing for a Marriott brand hotel that has 4 stars here in Europe. I applaud the gentleman manning the hotel for keeping his calm, but these problems overshadow that. For such a swanky lobby and restaurant area, they should also make sure the rooms are in working order!

Surprisingly nice for a courtyard Marriott. It’s close to the airport. Breakfast was decent with plentiful options. The hotel has four parking spaces out front. Hotel staff was polite.

Being a Marriott member for years, anytime we can find one on our vacations, we book a room with them. This staff at this hotel were fabulous! The breakfast spread was the largest we had ever seen and was delicious. Having a park around the corner was wonderful for the dogs. Our "superior" room was expensive and disappointing. 😞 The outlets in the bathroom and in the room itself did not work. The bed was brutally aged and uncomfortable. The courtyard view, which earned the room the title of "superior," was nothing more than an internal parking lot, the roof of a lower part of the building, and an apartment complex. Nothing superior here. The view of the city street was actually nicer. The carpets in the hallways were stained, and the furniture in the lobby and restaurant were aged and worn. The dinner food was not good. We ordered 2 different nights to really give it a go and had to walk in the rain to a different restaurant to get a tasty meal on the 3rd night. We will not stay here again.

We slept peacefully and had a good breakfast. For us that was the most important thing. The beds are comfortable and large, the bathroom is OK. The furniture had stains in a few places. The staff is friendly.

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel that met all our expectations. We were very warmly welcomed by Yvette, a great host ! She managed to facilitate our early arrival and late check out. I highly recommend this place

It was very clean and the receptionist was super helpful for our stay in zurich. During the stay we needed something urgent but all the stores around were closed on Sunday but Agustin at the front desk was very kind enough to run to his own apartment across the street to get it for us! He literally saved my day and I can't thank him enough for his kindness. Thank you all!

Comfy hotel not far from Zurich Oerlikon Train Station. Quite convenient for overnight stay if you're flying early from Zurich Airport the next day. The airport is 6 minutes by train, with frequent connections To be honest, first time flying during COVID and first hotel staying in a post pandemic world. Everything felt fine. Tons of disinfecting wipes at the front desk which were helpful during the flight. Would definitely stay again

The Marriott is super. Julia at the frontdesk is especially friendly and a great host for my stays! I think the bacon is a little bit soft at breakfast but I bet the cooks are a little bit challenged in these trying times.

  • 4/5 Panagiotis S. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is located at a distance from the center of Zurich, however the train station is a five minutes walk and the central train station of Zurich is a seven minutes ride. Our rooms were clean, quiet and a/c was working very well. Internet was OK for browsing, and SD Netflix, slow for streaming HD Netflix. Breakfast was very well with some inconsistencies. Some days bacon was burnt etc. Room service was inconsistent, sometimes towels were missing or worn out entirely.

I like this hotel. The staff are friendly, it shows they care about each of their guests, and are open to light chatter anytime they’re free. The rooms are always clean, and the tap water is delicious. I am very thankful to have been given the gracious ability to call myself a long term guest to this beautiful and remarkably reliable yet incredibly forthcoming -let it be said- hotel.

I believe this is the second stay I've had at this location as it is conveniently located near the airport, local transportation, and simple to get downtown. Rates are extremely competitive and rooms are clean and quiet, with plenty of shopping and eating options nearby. The attached restaurant is also very good and I'll have a separate review for that. They have parking in front, although there is a fee, and the hotel is located in a mixed commercial/residential building area in the suburbs of Zurich. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, and speaking English wasn't a problem. Augustin at the front desk was a true gem and a credit to the hotel. He was extraordinarily helpful and friendly and made me glad to have selected the hotel. Won't hesitate to stay here again when my travels take me to Zurich.

  • 4/5 Richard H. 2 years ago on Google
Generally a very good hotel. Fairly large, clean and well decorated rooms. Kettle in the room was welcome. Breakfast was good, with a reasonable choice of healthy items as well as the usual eggs and bacon (which were a bit cold). Staff were friendly and efficient. Expensive considering the location well outside the centre of Zurich, although it's quite close to Oerlikon train station. Would certainly consider staying again.

Booked pretty last minute. Rooms were nice, people at the front desk were accommodating. And they kept my bag safe for a week while I hiked in the Swiss Alps!

Nice rooms. Front desk people were super friendly! (Nicholas and a Spanish guy?). Only 4 parking spaces? ACCU parking next door is cheap overnight (1.50 CHF / hr). American outlets in the room! But mine didn’t work. :( super sad about that. And no pool. But close to a lot of restaurants and a tower and a park. If not for the broken outlet would have been 5 stars for me.

Good property with easy connection to Nord train station. The check in and check out was smooth and courteous. Rooms clean and lobby pleasant with chairs and books, magazines. The street is a bit deserted at night but totally safe. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel.

Nice room. Close to the expo space and to the train station. Good breakfast. Very good in fact for Switzerland. Bizarre service: in my room the shower was leaking, the window blinds were half broken and the mini fridge was also not working. When I first complained at the reception in the morning I was offered to move rooms but I had to get to work. When I asked again in the evening (Saturday) I was told that the technician was gone and that they would fix everything after my checkout on Monday. No repeat offer of a room change or any type of apology.

Love the service. Receptionist are very informative and willing to help! Room is clean, neat and enough facility. Love the desk where International wall sockets available! If you're carrying big luggage, location is tricky as nearest train station is walkable like 7-10min. Driving distance is like 1-2min so it's "unreasonable" to get cab or bus for such short distance. Overall is a good place to stay.

The care we received was extraordinary. Our rooms were made up to accommodate our family before we arrived and we were greeted with a hand written welcome note from the manager. The beds were super comfortable. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you for the awesome stay!
