The castle, the grounds and setting are magnificent on the outside, but inside, the decor is more conference and seminar centre, than historic fairy-tale castle. The staircase and historic bath are splendid, but the rest of the interior looks more like an Ikea showroom....in my opinion a confusion of styles. The restaurant areas are lacking ambience and are functional and sterile looking, therefore we ate elsewhere. I may sound harsh, but am trying to be honest.

Wir durften unsere Traumhochzeit am 03.06.2023 im Schloss Wartegg feiern. Die Location war ein absoluter Traum. Das Personal sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Wir wurden von Anfang an sensationell beraten. Auch das Essen war hervorragend und die Qualität durchgehend top. Es hat uns wie auch unseren Gästen sehr gut gefallen und wir würden für unseren grossen Tag immer wieder das Schloss Wartegg wählen. Vielen lieben Dank für den wunderschönen Tag. Er wird uns immer in Erinnerung bleiben. 100% empfehlenswert. Super Dienstleister.

Staff and welcome absolutely first class. Friendly and helpful. Food all of superior standard. Grounds and garden interesting. Both Rooms of very good standard. Only slight unfortunate negative was wedding event combined with rain which left speeches in entrance foyer "trapping" us in tea room for 20mins (v minor issue) but also some late night/early morning music noise from main event in one room(other was silent) . Rooms off main stairs not ideal , here, maybe keep for participating guests? room over lake completely unaffected.

Wir wollten nach einer längeren Wanderung an einem Sommertag im Schloss Wartegg eine kühle Erfrischung genehmigen. Leider warteten wir mehr als 20 min bevor wir uns entschieden haben zu gehen. Die beiden Kellnerinnen ignorierten uns gekonnt, sodass wir uns alles andere als willkommen fühlten, vielmehr war es anscheinend wichtiger mit den anderen Gästen über Privates zu pläudern als uns zu bedienen. Ich finde es sehr schade dass nur Willkommen ist wenn man etwas Essen möchte. Anscheinend geht es dem Schloss Wartegg so gut dass man sich seine Kunden auswählen kann. Da gibt es definitiv Gastfreundlichere Alternativen.

Wir habe am Freitag, den 11. August 2023 ein super feines Abendessen auf der wunderschönen Terrasse des Schloss Wartegg geniessen dürfen. Der Service war ebenfalls perfekt und die Stimmung. Und das alles bei total angenehmen Temperaturen bis spät in den Abend. Top!

Wunderschöner Ort mit viel Geschichte. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal und eine ausgezeichnete kreative Küche. Wenn man dann noch das Wetterglück hat und im Schlosshof speisen kann, ist ein Aufenthalt im Hotel schlicht hervorragend. Die Zimmer sind sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Einzig der Frühstücksraum wirkt etwas gar steril, da Stühle, Tische und Parkettboden im einheitlichen Buchenholz Look daherkommen. Aber das ist bekanntlich Geschmackssache und kann bei einer künftigen Renovation der Räume den aktuellen Trends angepasst werden.

Unser Aufenthalt war wunderbar, wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und eingewiesen in die Anlage des Hauses. Die Zimmer waren herrlich - wie hier aus relativ wenig Raum eine elegante, praktische Lösung gefunden wurde, um alles Unterzubringen, was ein top Zimmer benötigt, beeindruckt. Die Abendmahlzeiten waren ein Fest - das eigene Gemüse war durchgängig einfach hervorragend und ausgesprochen schön präsentiert, viele überraschende Gaumenerlebnisse und alles angeboten mit großer Freundlichkeit - hier auch dem Servicepersonal ein großes Lob, kluge, angenehme Menschen, die auf Fragen wendig eingingen, Wünsche sehr schnell erfüllten, Teller nicht zu früh und nicht zu spät entfernten. Die ganze Anlage bot immer wieder rneue Ecken zu entdecken. Durch das gute Wetter konnte man sich auch gut draußen aufhalten. Und auch hier war an alles gedacht, in lockerer Weise, keine Bevormundung sondern durchgängig Ermöglichung.

The hotel is beautiful, the food is excellent and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly, it's a pure joy to stay in this location. The wellness are is small but very special, definitely worthwhile to check out!

Restaurant 10.9.23: überforderter Service und Küche! Hauptspeise 49 -52 Franken, klein, Gemüse ungeniessbar, Wartezeit 75 Minuten!!! Preis/Leistung stimmt nicht mehr. Wir waren mal begeistert…

Super toll, super nette Menschen. We love it. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Schloss. Vielen Dank dafür an die Mitarbeiter, es war einfach toll. Gestern waren wir dort Essen, es war richtig richtig lecker. Wir kommen wieder♥️

Wir waren begeistert vom Anfang bis zum Schluss unseres Aufenthalts. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen. Der Ausblick vom Zimmer, das ganze Gebäude ist märchenhaft, vom Park gar nicht erst zu reden, dieser hat uns total faszinierte. So viele alte Bäume!!! Wow, wir sind voller Ehrfurcht berührt!!! Und nun zum Essen: dieses bekommt locker die maximale Punktzahl. Wir kommen wieder, bestimmt. Vielen herzlichen Dank!

My husband and me spent a weekend in January at Schloss Wartegg and loved every minute. Great location, service, attention to detail, the food is of very high quality, local, organic and just delicious. Don't miss the beautiful and intimate historic Turkish Bath.

A wonderful place to relax or to work concentrated and relaxed on themes that matter. Beautiful landscape, nice hosts, good food; rooms, furnished with wood and high quality textiles, that leave space for your thoughts, ideas and feelings. Until December an incredibly fragile installation, piece of art in the 'Cabane' in the park. Don't miss it!

it was just a great experience in Schloss Wartegg, everything was perfect!

The room was very spacious, so it was a nice change to be able to move around comfortably even with our plentiful luggage all over the room. It is cleverly designed with its shelf and cupboard space, a fold away full length mirror, good Wifi, lovely bathroom, a beautiful view and good service at the restaurant, the breakfast room and reception. The restaurant is in an idyllic setting, and the food was great. We will be back.

This was a highlight of our 2 week European vacation! Absolutely the best meal we had while in Europe!

Amazing hotel! In the middle of a park, 10m walk from the lake, super kid-friendly, great breakfast and nice restaurant. What else do you need? Ah, they also have a SPA!

Update: I went there again for dinner six months later and it was as good as the first time... -------------------------------- I only went there for dinner, but the food (organic) was exceptional, the outdoor dining area beautiful, the service warm and efficient, all in all it was a wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back...

Our stay at Schloss Wartegg was very relaxing. We arrived on a Monday and spent two nights in mid-May. The hotel had only a few visitors during our stay, which was nice. The evening staff greeted us warmly and showed us to our room, which was upgraded to a junior suite. The room was clean and simple with different options for pillows, if you wanted them. Friendly sheep are on site. Their restaurant is lovely with tasty options from their garden and nearby farms. There are also lovely bouquets of flowers to admire throughout the establishment. The only downside was that our room was above the front entrance, which was often frequented by the hotel and grounds staff who liked to smoke and have a chat. We had a lovely walk around the grounds and noticed the paths went down to the town. It’s only about a 5 minute walk (slightly uphill) to catch the bus. If you wonder where the Süd train station bus stop after getting off at the main train station, just take the elevator up to the higher road. Rorschacherberg is a quiet city with more to do in nearby Rorschach. We took a bus to St. Gallen, which has a beautiful library to visit. The Migros grocery store in Rorschach is also very good place to get something to eat with their take away option.

We were at this place with our school for a weekend. The service is great, they took care of all 20 of us. Kitchen doesn't meet my taste, still the food is very good and very nicely presented. Rooms are pretty standard, clean and functional (like many other hotels there is the issue of electric sockets which are few and uneasy to reach), view on the park and lake makes you relax. At least in this period of the year we have seen a majority of elderly and a few families. Not the right place for young people to have fun also because in the surroundings there is no nightlife. Having it's own park all around the castle, there is no noise and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

an absolutely beautiful place, we celebrated our wedding there. The Stuff is one of the friendliest and kindest I ever encountered, the location is amazing with a beautiful view of the lake. The food is absolutely delicious as well. Worth every visit
