The museum is not big, but has such an eclectic variety of collections that's its a very entertaining way to pass an hour - no matter what you're interested in. There's a potted collection of roman artifacts, early cars, contemporary sculpture and decorative arts. The Cafe in the sculpture garden is a great place for a leisurely aperitif or on a sunny day. The history of Roman Martigny is well explained in French and German, but most other signage is in French only.

Unusual and fabulous art, history and automobile museum under one roof, plus a world class sculpture garden and Roman ruins! The museum features excellent temporary art exhibitions (Caillebotte was a revelation!), gorgeous vintage Mercedes, Bugatti and Swiss autos, and interesting Roman coins, statues and temple remnants. The outdoor sculptures by Brancusi, Rodin, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Dubuffet, etc. are beautifully placed in the large, peaceful garden. And the Roman ruins are a wonderful bonus. Highly recommended!

Went to visit the museum to see the exhibition of the magnificent paintings from Joseph Turner. The paintings are impressive, but personally, i found they were presented a bit squeezed in the corridors. More justice would be done by having them more space generously displayed. In the basement, the museum has a permanent exhibition of historic cars, some quite unique models of swiss manufacturers that can not be found anywhere else. The museum has a nice outdoor park with a large variety of different trees that are all supported by a plate indicating their name. Further in the park there are interesting schulptures on display. In a corner of the park is a small restaurant that offers good food for reasonable prices. A good place to go to for a days outing.

FONDATION P. GIANADDA : EXHIBITION “TURNER – THE SUN IS GOD exhibition from March 03 to June 25, 2023, in collaboration with the Tate. This exhibition will forever remain in my memory.

The museum was very disappointing. The space was filled with equipment and chairs for another event and thus you could not easily see the paintings in the impressionist exhibit. The crowds of school children blocked the narrow access to the paintings. The sculpture in the garden is of mixed importance and styles. They were mowing the grass and working on gardens while we were there, thus sidewalks were blocked and it was very noisy. Not a good environment for viewing art. The da Vinci exhibit is not air conditioned and thus too hot, and the curator did not distinguish between reproductions and originals. The nearby Roman theatre and roman road are a must see.

Fabulous sculpture park in a beautiful mountain setting. Worth the visit if just for the permanent collection of sculptures and cars. The temporary exhibits are always of the highest caliber. In Summer-Fall 2018 it was a Soulages retrospective, simply wonderful. The little restaurant is nice, but 10 min walk and you're in the center of Martigny with a good choice of restaurants and bakeries. Easy access by train or car, only 1h30 from Geneva. Recommended.

Very interesting permanent collection of gallo-roman artifacts found on site and around in Martigny. The sculptures in the garden are great too. If you like old cars, a large collection wait for you in the basement.

Very nice museum, small but cute. There is an exhibition that changes time to time, and two areas dedicated to the main characters of the museum. There is also one area with the cars of the beginning of 20th century. There are 2 cafeterias, one indoor, very cute (like a step back in time), and one outside in the garden, where it is really pleasant to sit and enjoy the park and the weather. The park is also interesting, with pieces of art of various artists placed here and there. Suggested.

Great place to enjoy sculptures outdoors. Some Roman ruins are also on site. Be sure to stop at night to see the sculptures under a different light. The exhibits indoor vary by season. Very nice copper sculptures are part of the permanent exhibit. You can find also a small shop with book, mugs and various souvenirs to take home.

Excellent little gem of a museum. A bit eclectic, with archeology, modern art and old cars; something for everyone! 50% discount with a pass de St Bernard.

Children are not so we'll catered for here however I did enjoy the Leonardo exhibition and car museum. The cafe was good too. The reception was not too interested in us though. I doubt I'd go back for another look.

If you are around Martigny don't miss this beautiful museum. It presents excellent expositions and has a very good sculpture garden.

impressive site with several exhibitions. Main attraction is actual William Turner exhibition "Sun is god" with impressive pictures as "Lake Petworth sunset". There are also some photo exhibitions and automobile museum. As museum stands on site of pre-Roman celtic temple there are also many objects of Celtic and Roman history.

Low-key one of the best art museums in Switzerland with rotating exhibitions and an awesome permanent collection of vintage cars.

Disappointing museum. Rather small and awkward exhibit space. Temporary exhibit displaces permanent collection so I recommend you ensure that you are interested in it and not just the classics they advertise. Would be an enjoyable space to see one of their concerts in. Sculpture garden of little interest.

👍👍 Cet endroit est absolument magnifique. Depuis Charrat-Vison vous empruntez le petit sentier qui monte sur la colline et vous admirerez une quantité importante de cette fleur jaune qui s'appelle Adonis.
