Der Teller oder besser gesagt das Brett war belegt mit diversen feinen Köstlichkeiten. Die little Pancakes sind deliziös. Das Ambiente war einfach, aber genau das macht es aus. Eine sehr lockere, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Hier will man fast nicht mehr raus. Das Personal ist äusserst freundlich und kundenorientiert. Genau so etwas wünscht man sich in jedem Lokal. I go for the cheese cake. I’m very picky about my cake & this cake is Seriously Spectacular. Coffee is good. Service is bad. I only go for the cheesecake. And it is worth going for. Update: I used to give this 5 stars for the cheesecake but the service has not gotten better, as one would expect it would with experience. Only go if you have a lot of patience and time to wait for the super slow service. The 3 stars is for the cool deco, locally owned & neighborhood vibe.

This place truly deserves a 5 star. Very nice interior seating with good selection of food to choose from. The food is great, coffee can be better. They have very friendly staffs and some speak English too. Truly enjoyed our time here!

Cozy little café. The coffee is good and the food is simply amazing! The Müesli is outstanding and I also recommend the little pancakes, they are soo delicious. Everything I had so far was super delicious. Staff is very friendly and they also have a small selection of different goods to buy (glasses, vases, towels, sirups, small snacks).

Very pleasant cafe. The coffee is good, not great, but the food (avo mash, poached eggs...) was very tasty and the atmosphere very friendly. If it was in London or Montreal I’d give it four stars because I’d be able to get a better flat white (for less than 6.20) at an equally nice place. In Basel, however, it stands out as one of very few truly good cafes of this type. All in all I would say that even if you are in the city centre of Basel, it’s well worth taking the tram for 15 minutes to go to Smilla.
