A nice outdoor seating in summer. There are enough staff, but probably the heatwave makes people less focus on the job. Service and food could be improved. The printed menu at the restaurant is slightly different than what published on their website.

One of the to-go place in Basel. There are multiple reasons this is the place: friendly servers who know what they are talking about, food that tastes very well, and done in a proper Italian way. Definitely recommend to check it out. Though there are times they over salted their food. So you might want to check that with the servers.

Excellent, authentic Italian dishes like Osso Buco, tripe, offal salsiccia, pulpo salad and lots of home made pastas plus a really good wine list with lots of regional bottles, served in a big, atmospheric traditional Basel dining room. Service is first class and the place has a lovely bustling feel to it. We paid 80 francs a head for two courses plus a beer and wine. Not bad for quality food in a Basel restaurant these days.

Vast variety in the menu. Chicken unfortunately is not available. Ambience is amazing, staff goes all out for you, food is delicious.

We had a business dinner here and were seated in the spacious garden area. Despite the heat and humidity it was an enjoyable evening. The wine, the Primitivo, was excellent as were the Vitel Tonne and the sea bass main course. Would recommend, especially for group events.

I had a good experience 4 years ago so when I found myself in Basel again, I went back. The food was as good as I remembered but the service was not. We got there just before the kitchen opens at 6pm so it wasn’t busy. We were seated but that’s about it. No order for drinks or menu. After about 10 minutes we were told the kitchen opens at 6pm. That’s fine we waited. We ordered as soon as we got our menu. The dishes came slowly even though they were not busy at the time. As they got busy things were forgotten. We had to ask for different things multiple times. Finally when I paid, I was charged my home currency (CAD). I asked to pay in CHF and my server refused. First saying that it’s not much of a difference. Then saying that I had to put my pin in first. That was strange but I believed him. Sure enough I wasn’t given the option to change. The receipt showed there was a 3.95% markup on the exchange! My credit card only charges 2.5%. I can’t believe what a gouge it was. I was thoroughly disappointed how my second experience turns out. I will not return again. There are so many good restaurants in Basel. Why waste it on those who don’t appreciate your business?

We had a great evening on the terrace. We were 12 people and service, food and wine were (almost) flawless. Im the end they brought one dessert too much, which we then got offered for free and happily divided between each other.

Great food and friendly, helpful staff, prices are fair for the food you get for it. The Parmigiana is simply outstanding, among the best I've ever had. Only downside is that it is very, very loud when there are a lot of guests; conversation with someone else than just the person opposite is difficult.
