(Translated by Google) Despite a referral from the family doctor (with clear instructions), important and promised tests were simply not done, but a large number of drug tests were done behind the scenes and without telling me! I've never had anything to do with drugs, is it still ?! I was lied to boldly, "they want to do a urine test and test me for a possible heavy metal exposure" .. strangely, there are no results for this test in the discharge report "deleted by the client" it says there, you only have to add 1 + 1 to understand what was planned from the start. Since the drug tests were of course all negative, the whole thing was blamed on my psyche. Simply unbelievably bold! Dr. Thienemann and Prof. Dr. med. Edouard Battegay also mixed up external reports and mixed up everything. In addition, these two gentlemen did not believe a word of me, presented me as simulators and smiled at me. Dr. med. Edouard Battegay even came into my room and said boldly: "The report from the sleep laboratory is okay, there are no abnormalities there", just funny: At this point he couldn't even know because I hadn't even shown the report! When I answered that he couldn't know that and that the report said something else and that I could email him the report immediately, he said, visibly offended: "I don't want any email from you now!" The holy professor was offended because I had questioned him in front of his crowd of resident interns, I felt like I was talking to a defiant toddler who does not want to see his mistake. Is that supposed to be the station manager? Thank you very much, there is no miracle everything is going so bad there! Half an hour later a doctor came into the room and asked me if I could send you the report from the sleep laboratory ... ah, yes! Excuse me? Nothing! I've kept a record of my oxygen saturation, it fluctuates between 82 both at night and during the day! and 90%, my blood pressure is totally in the bucket, I am powerless and constantly tired, have non-stop shortness of breath, muscle twitching, extreme memory and thinking problems, severe headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, according to the sleep laboratory, a completely disturbed sleep without REM phase, the list doesn't stop! And none of that was investigated, instead I was put off and my situation was ridiculed, behind the scenes my girlfriend was questioned on the phone because I was not believed, just incredibly arrogant and inhuman, and as already mentioned; The whole department of internal medicine is organized catastrophically, 0 cooperation or exchange, doctors do not know what tests have already been done, run out of the room and have to ask, reports get mixed up, a single swamp of chaos and botch! The hospital has to be granted that the food was good and that the nurses on the D3-ost ward, unlike the doctors, were all very friendly and helpful. But that doesn't undo the whole mess of the doctors, it's the worst experience I've ever had in a hospital! I can only advise everyone against being treated in the USZ on internal medicine, no diagnoses are made here, money is simply raked in on the back of the patient and nothing more. here you are not a person, here you are a little bit on a potential sack of money!

It took more than 1 1/2 hours to get stitches on my bleeding finger. They said the were a lot of people and understaffed but I could not see a single other soul in the hospital. And looking from all other reviews it seems that understaffing is a problem for a very long time so how about doing something? It also took about an hour and a complaint until I got something to clean my bloody hands. And the first 30 minutes no one was there to check how bad the cut was in fact. Sorry but there really needs to be some improvement at this hospital.

Horrible experience. The Staff was terrible. My husband had an accident where 20 kg fell down on his shoulder, he had terrible pain. We were waiting for 4 hours. When I asked if we can talk to the doctor, the best to tell me was that my husband’s situation is the last thing to look at right now, other people are dying. This shows no respect towards the patients. Unbelievable that this is the medical sector in Switzerland!!!

I am a tourist that presented to the emergency room with stroke symptoms (headache and memory issues). The care was excellent! Every staff member was very caring and knowledgeable! Everyone was very personable. I have worked in Healthcare in the United States for 40 years and feel the care I received far exceeded what I have seen or experienced in the US. Zurich can be proud of their outstanding medical center! A stroke was ruled out and I was diagnosed with amnesia related to a migraine! I highly recommend this medical center for your healthcare needs and appreciate the care they gave me.

What good is all the "diversity and knowledge" that exists within this hospital if they treat their patients in such a cold and unfriendly manner? I decided to have my baby at Unispital because I heard about their excellent reputation and expertise. Despite my husband having a terrible experience at the emergency unit last year, I decided to go against my gut and give Unispital a second chance. Unfortunately, from the first day I realised that I was just a number at this place. I experienced everything from receptionists shouting at me on the phone to being told I was not a priority (3 times during my 4 day stay at the hospital), and let's not forget the doctors and midwives who are too busy to explain anything to you in an easy and kind manner. My time at this hospital was extremely traumatic during what should be a happy and exciting time. Medically, they did everything correctly, sure but they did not care about me as a patient and how I felt. In the end, I decided not to have my baby at this place. For sure, they will not even notice my absence. I do not recommend coming here for anything. What a horrible place.

Better safe than sorry, i.e. AVOID. They are very good when they listen to you. The problem - they dont listen. Experienced massive pains, perm damage to health. All could have been avoided if only the doctors would CARE.

(Translated by Google) I have never seen anything like it! All costly tests were done quickly and without much consideration for my opinion. I had to tell all the symptoms & the whole process 3 times, because you get a different doctor every day. To practically every question I had, I got the answer “I have to ask my senior doctor”. There was never an answer about what the senior doctor meant. During the entire 8 days that I was there for examinations on an outpatient basis, I saw a senior doctor once, who then simply ordered more tests. Including an MRI, because suddenly there was talk of the onset of MS and possibly worse. In just one day, I went emotionally from “I have my eye rinsed out at the ophthalmologist to possible MS, without anyone considering my feelings, my opinion and my input,” please do one before all these expensive tests Borreliosis test, because a tick bit me 9 weeks ago ”, took. Conclusion 8 days later, the only abnormal borreliosis test came back positive. Everything else was negative, MRI normal. Finally I thought we were going to act, since we have already lost over a week. But no, they are not sure about the test, they have to ask their senior doctor. I didn't hear anything for a day, then the phone rings, neurologist, you have made an appointment for a lumbar puncture! Are you crazy? Without prior clarification with the patient, an appointment is simply made for such an invasive procedure. And what for? To confirm the diagnosis? All other results were negative! When I said, I don't want any more, NO FURTHER EXAMINATIONS, I'll get a second opinion, I was called by a senior doctor who tried to change my mind. I couldn't change my mind after everything that happened.

5 stars for the staff; big thanks to all of them! However, the overall experience was really bad. My girlfriend had to stay in ~22sqm room together with 2 other women and 3 infants. It was so crammed the cabinets weren't accessible and for each room only 2 visitors were allowed at any time. Some doctors and midwives told us the hospital management recently closed an entire floor of the maternity ward and cut over half of the staff. I never would have expected to see such conditions in the biggest hospital in Zurich.

(Translated by Google) I felt comfortable on both stays. I was treated very well and always included as well as possible. Doctors and nursing staff always friendly, responded to me and felt for me. A corona test was carried out in the shock room during both stays. A thousand times better than a German hospital. Many thanks for everything, especially to the IMC team, I will always have you in my heart. (Original) Habe mich bei beiden Aufenthalten wohl gefühlt. Had a good experience (despite the circumstances), the staff and facilities were great. The ER team received me immediately (perhaps because it was late at night so no queue) and they did the necessary tests on spot to confirm I can be released, and referred me for an MRI at the outpatient clinic. Everyone spoke English well, was patient, respectful and kind. Thank you especially to Dr Han who attended me at the ER.

(Translated by Google) Avoid this hospital if possible, my mother was 67 years old because of a wrong diagnosis of the blood values (device was dirty) called to the hospital again today for another blood test at 10 a.m. The incapable there could not find the veins, needed 3 attempts without success, someone had to be called by the anesthesiologist, so again waited 45-50 minutes in the room without magazines and drinks, was snapped at cheekily she should wait in the room when going to the toilet Wanted to leave, the blood values were suddenly okay according to the discussion with the ward doctor hours later, she came from the hospital at 1:50 p.m. She had to spend almost 4 hours there just for blood value control and no apology from the hospital for incorrect diagnosis of the blood values, mother was so worried thought of cancer etc. was close to tears. She has never seen such cheeky, indifferent staff and having to experience something like that in oh-so-great modern Switzerland is just shameful, probably more like conditions in 3 world.

If you wanna feel like a rat lab for new unexperienced doctors, this is the place. I was here for 3months with pain on my knees and didn't get a single exam. What I got was two unnecessary painful cortisone injections on both knees (I remember the pain like was yesterday) and got a cyst from one of those. The physiotherapists are also a complete joke. Just go somewhere else.

I went for the last few maternity check-ups and gave birth in June 2021, and having an emergency surgery for a minor gynecological issue in December 2021. I had very positive experiences and highly recommend USZ. Doctors, nurses and hoteliers I met are all professional, friendly and empathetic. Yes, they are busy but that does not mean they do not care about patients at all. They take time to answer questions and deal with issues. For instance, when my roommate’s male partner was staying around in our room past midnight because she did not speak German or English before labour and I could not rest well, nurses were very kind and supported me. They all speak English, which is very helpful for non-German speaker like me, except for one midwife and some hoteliers. But I used body language with them and I even leant some German words from them :-) My emergency surgery was pushed back to prioritize more urgent surgeries for some hours but I fully agree that more life threatening cases should be prioritized. I saw some reviewers complaining they had to wait long time but I wonder doctors were just prioritizing more urgent cases. They have student doctors and nurses but they are very professional and/or supervised by experienced ones. Educating future professionals is one of the purposes of university hospitals. I did not have any issues due to this. There is just one wish to make — it would be great if USZ could perform bacteria check during maternity check even without symptoms to avoid miscarriage/low birth weight. It seems like that about 30% pregnant women get bacteria and often without symptoms.

(Translated by Google) The nurses in this hospital are great. Very human and they do their best. Which, unfortunately, cannot be said about most doctors (except for the nice young assistant doctors). The nursing staff deserve more recognition !! In addition, I have often made the experience that the nursing staff is technically more competent than the people who studied medicine ?! Horribly terrible ... Last night around 23:00 (29.05.2021) I arrived at the University Hospital of Zurich. I waited 3 hours just to take a seat in the waiting room. After 3 hours of waiting I went to the Reception and asked the receptionist if it would take much longer? , as I have an emergency. She told me in a disgusted tone that, yes! After receiving 2 other people who came after me. Then I told her that I was NOT waiting another minute. . The idea is that the 6 people in front of me were Swiss and I am Romanian ... A racist and unscrupulous receptionist.

So I went for an emergency check up to the dermatology department at 17.40 on 30.06.23. The girl at the reception said she has to see if the emergency doctor is there. Then she went to her office, I heard them talking and afterwards she told me the doctor is not here and that they will call me on the next day. I hope I am wrong, but why do you hire an “emergency doctor” who refuses to check up a patient even though there were no people waiting?

Moved from New York to London and then London to Zurich last year knowing the wife was pregnant. We had our first child at University Hospital Zurich in January this year. So glad that the baby arrived there, as opposed to NYC or London. The quality of care, professionalism, service offerings, depth of knowledge, understanding of human emotion during the last few hours and quality of medical equipment are absolute world class. Anyone moving to Zurich and planning to have your baby there, close your eyes and go for it. Thanks to the wonderful doctors and midwives.

(Translated by Google) It is unbelievable how negligently patients are treated here in an allegedly highly specialized hospital. The care is very hard and friendly, but the top-class medicine here falls by the wayside. How money is ruthlessly pulled out of the pockets of the coffers. I've been lying here for over a week without any diagnostics. I would have paid less in a spa hotel. Then four immunocompromised patients are accommodated in one room. So much for patient protection During the entire time I should stay sober 3 times unexplained "because that's how you do it" and we're back to top medicine. The investigation is finally being made. After several begging and pleading, please let me know briefly whether and what has been seen or done. The only message is "The doctor has no time" Sorry, but 5 minutes didn't harm a doctor. Instead, to stay sober again for no reason and without explanation. I reached my limits mentally, that doesn't seem to interest anyone here. Yes, why, the patient is not the focus, otherwise my desperation at this point would finally be taken seriously. If you want top medicine, you won't find it at the USZ.

I am sent there by 2 doctors to do a specific exam, one of them used to perform this specific exam so he knows very well about it. The specialist at the USZ does not want to perform the exam, he dismisses all the input from my doctors, all my input and instead tells me I have nothing. I asked this doctor for a prescription renewal, he does not want to. He is not interested in understanding why this medicine helps, he dismisses everything. Is this doctor at the USZ so intellectually retarded that he does not understand I will get it anyway from my 2 doctors? I am back with my 2 doctors. Inbetween a lot of wasted time, money and a lot of distress. I got the prescription renewal from my 2 doctors, they agree on it. The process to get an appointment was also a real mess.

I had a surgery here since my arm was broken at ice skating ring on Silvester. In spite of very long time awaiting of surgery while other patients in worse conditions that me were delivered by helicopters and the doctors were overloaded to take mi right away, I put my 5 star review. The surgery went well, the doctors were very attentive and all speak good English. The nurses were very kind and take a good care about me. The food was light and delicious. I even stay alone in a room all that time being in hospital and felt myself very comfortable. The only thing is a long waiting time that was hard to me to stay calm and patient, therefore I will not recommend to go here in case of small accidents and perhaps to consider other hospitals with Notfall services.

Alert: avoid this hospital for giving birth. During my labor in August, the anaesthetist came very late and failed her job. She did not manage to give me the pain killer Epidural as agreed prenatal, which resulted in an extremely painful delivery. The doctor did not even accomplish the basic task. very disappointed. will not recommend USZ at all.

If only there was 0 point. Unbelievable to have such horrible service in Switzerland. Starting from taking 4h to make one x ray to the rude and incompetent personnel who make racist comments toward patients. Never again , if you can skip this hospital, do so. Half of personal is idle in rooms chit chatting and laughing while patients wait in pain and their excuse is that they are understaffed, even though at the time of my arrival there was nobody in the waiting room

Arrogant. Don't help people who need it. For example at the notfall station, they let everyone waiting for hours, even a very old woman. Unrespectfull, be warned. Don't go there. I am not paying for this non help. I am not the only one, see the other reviews! Ridiculous. Disgusting their treatment. They will not give reaction on this review because of arrogancy. Also the neurosurgery doesnt help you after a halfway operation, that is not how you treat people. Even when you are at the Notfall station, neurosurgeon Dr. Van Doormaal, has not the thinking of talk to you by himself. I would have been ashamed for that.

I was admitted to unispital for the birth of my child, I am very unsatisfied, They used student midwife and it was supper crowded , i dont recommend this hospital at all, they use patients as an experimental mouse. dont go there! you risk your life, you are only a number for them! I felt unsafe there, especially priority for them is to educate their students and not your health and wellbeing. I had pain and doctors take their time to explain medical condition to students rather than giving me painkiller. nurses are not nice and they don't explain things in a kind manner.... yes I already made my complain to usz but it was off course ignored....

World class healthcare. The admin and invoicing department is a shambles. There's no online portal where you can check your account. The invoices are so long and complicated that they are impossible to understand. They also refuse to translate invoices into French or English. They make mistakes and then expect the customers to deal with the fallout which leads to very stressful situations where I'm constantly having to worry about the money even though I'm 100% covered by my international insurance. They also charge charge me 31% more because I'm a non resident.

Birth took over 36 hours as they simply forgot about us and didn t induce me for 10 hours (due to foreign surmame?) Undetected lactation issue due to child‘s head deformation (caused by long birth) which caused child not to be able to suck properly. One older Midwife (frau Schmidt?) was a horrible horrible horrible person! A tyrant. Forward a couple of years, 2 year old falls from 2 meters on head and I ask for a scan and the answer is: „it s almost midnight, the service is shutting down soon… the pupils seem fine, keep him under control for the next days ro check for concussion signs“ unbelievable!

(Translated by Google) I was welcomed by Dr. Soyka and Dr. Linden leaf operated on the nose. I have to say that I was far from satisfied. During my debriefing, I criticized the fact that my nose looked worse than before. The answer was that I should be satisfied as the functionality of the nose was guaranteed. I got a second opinion from a plastic surgeon and he said that this operation should have been done very differently. My nose doesn't look nice, and that's what I told Dr. Soyka and Dr. Thanks to linden leaf. It is important to me that other patients read this text and then decide for themselves. Not every surgeon is a good surgeon, I had to learn that with a taste. Never again, will I be treated at the USZ! (Translated by Google) This year I was 'allowed' to spend several months at the university hospital and as a patient I know many departments, especially the clinic for visceral surgery, very well. The entire staff, starting with the transport service, the nursing staff, the ward doctors, and of course the professors (whom I was also able to meet as a health insurance patient) were very passionate and knowledgeable about the matter. In the beginning, the hospital is certainly extensive and confusing, it has a lot of staff and departments, so that you may be a little confused. But you quickly notice that this is precisely the special strength of the university hospital. Top medicine that heals and (in my case) saves lives. Thanks to all ! P.S. Danke an Alle ! P.S.

Large hospital with experts for many disciplines. Well organized when it comes to administrative tasks. Staff is typically very friendly. Even though they tend to be quite busy, they take their time to support you. Doctors are very capable and are answering any questions - you do not feel like 'just a number'. Medical symptoms are investigated quickly if asked for, but you do not feel that you are pushed to undergo extensive testing just for the sake of it. The main building is historic with limited possibilities for renovation, so it definitely feels outdated.

(Translated by Google) My grandmother had an appointment for a bronchoscopy. Since her condition was too bad, the doctors decided to keep her there. Negative point -> Apparently she was then pushed from appointment to appointment, which can be confusing for an old lady, especially with the onset of dementia. In the end she was on the Nord 1 P in the women's clinic and was treated by the oncologists. Senior physician, assistant physician and weekend doctor were all very competent, very friendly and empathetic. I am a USZ employee myself and work in nursing, but I was really impressed by how well the oncology team communicated with my family. Unfortunately, my grandmother was very confused during the hospital stay, and a big thank you to the nursing staff, because I know that it was definitely not easy. Doctors acted super quickly. Thank you for your great work :) (Original) Meine Grossmutter hatte ein Termin für eine Bronchoskopie. Booked online COVID tests for 2 adults and 4 children on onedoc.ch. Patient birthdate required for every person being tested, no mention on age limit. Called the hotline to confirm it was the right place for us to go: parents with children with symptoms and they confirmed it over the phone. Drove 1h to the hospital to be told on site they do not test children. Reception tell me we were not there first ones to go through this issue, but "they are not IT, they cannot do anything". Result: 2 hours drive for nothing...

Such nonsense in so many comments. Both staff and doctors have always been friendly towards me. I had to reschedule two appointments and managed to do so via email. Young doctors are not ashamed to call their senior colleagues for additional insights in front of patients, which is a sign of professionalism. I surely didn’t feel like a rat. Truth be told, my first appointment wasn’t as successful as it could’ve been, as it turned out later, as I had been given a therapy which didn’t help me at all, but surely the doctor had her own reasons as to why she didn’t want to start off with an aggressive approach in terms of medication. Thanks to the amazing people at Unispital, I am finally well. The exams were thoroughly done, doctors listened to me very carefully and were very empathetic and understanding. In total, I had three appointments due to my condition which is now a thing of the past. It is true that there are lots of private clinics around, one of which I went to, and the appointment was a total failure. Unlike the doctors at Unispital, I was told there to simply “wait it out”. Hadn’t I come back to Unispital, I would still be miserable. A huge thank you to the whole team at Unispital! You are amazing in every possible way!

Everyone was very kind and warm. After one of the worst weeks of my life they made me feel safe and cared for.

Everything was really good, gently stuff, clean room etc. The only issue was the waiting time in the emergency. But nevertheless, all fine.

Never come to this hospital if you have an urgency, i brought my partner at 6:20 in the morning with horrible pains and they kept her waiting for more than 90 minutes despite it was empty because they change the personnel at 7am. They couldn’t care less. Zero empathy. All they told her is: if it hurts why didnt you take a painkiller (not even offering her one) or “if you dont want to wait go to another hospital”. Any third world hospital is a better option.

😠 For me, the hospital is no longer an option! The birth was awesome! The midwife was a tough woman who responded well to my needs and the birthing room with the great view was just beautiful. Apart from the double room, which I had for myself, the stay was very disappointing! After the night nurse...
