They did a brand new area inside. It is nice and clean. You can shop and go the the trains easily. There is also a border to go to France. When you ho up on the escalator, they have waiting areas, shops, restaurants, cafeteria, grocery. In the other side of the sbb there is a nice fountain. Sbb has a deep garage. In the Sbb also has Western Union, and also ATM, shower for additional price and toilets too.

This is a very nice looking train station. The main area has massive ceilings with a unique design. There is also still a more historic area of the station. There are a lot of platforms and a couple different halls so make sure you have time to get to your connection here. The signage and departure boards were very helpful in navigating the station.

Big and busy train station that is conveniently located within walking distance to the old town. It has a traditional building, which is always nice as a scenic spot aside from being a transportation hub.

No one runs a train network as well as the Swiss. Not even the Germans. Our train from Strasbourg arrived on time (to the minute!) and we changed here to catch the next train on to Zürich with about a half hour to get a snack and buy the ongoing ticket from a kiosk. Big, beautiful, modern station that was super easy to navigate with luggage. Busy with people but nearly everyone wearing their masks as is appropriate in 2021. Candy, sandwiches, lots of coffee, some retail shopping. Great spot to pick up something to eat on the train (yes, you can eat and drink on the trains). Signage was super clear to find our train. And thanks to the Schengen Agreement, no need for passports to cross the border here.

Nice train station with nice and updated tv walls with train information. Love the design of the station. Plenty elevators and escalators for travelers with large luggages. Nice and clean as well.

As of May 2023, this station was under renovation. I will suggest you need to be there earlier than usual to avoid any possible delay. This reail station is not one of the best but all facilities serve the purposes. Staff are well mannered and very helpful.

This is one of the most beautiful train stations I have ever seen, especially at a distance, where it looks like a gleaming chalice of light against the violet hues of the night sky. The arcing contours of wooden panels had a nice touch of the Swiss vernacular. Light from elegant chandeliers fills the open spaces of the station and illuminates the deep colours of imaginative, intricate paintings depicting the Swiss landscape. A train station should both provide a welcoming and culturally sophisticated gateway to a destination Ian be a distinct place in its own right to enrich and comfort the lives of travellers while they wait. The station thoroughly succeeds in both categories, and the colourfully insectoid forms of trams glide right to the entrance of the station, so it is easy to travel throughout Basel.

Very neat and organised, with information on trains available at all places and trams coming in from all parts of the Basel city. Has take away options for food too so if you traveling on long trains get food packed as trains don't have any food available that they sell or give even on 5 hour journeys.

A great train station. Good signage and lots of food and shopping options while you wait. I recommend the Migros Eatery for snacks, hot meals and baked goods.

Basel SBB is a well-organized and bustling hub, connecting both local and international routes. Clean facilities, helpful signage in multiple languages, and an array of nearby amenities make it a traveler-friendly stop in the heart of Basel.

Clean, organized and good location. The station has a French part for regional trains to France. This can be a bit confusing for tourists. But it has directions and signs to indicate.

Very friendly lady at customer service helped us get a exchange for the Swiss travel pass which I recommend every tourist should get as you can travel throughout the Schweiz as much as you want 234€ only for 3 days including tram bus and boat plus discount on many attractions like Titlis

The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I want to book a day pass, and the staff guided me through the online booking process because they had a special promotion that day. The trains are very clean and provide excellent connectivity to various places in Switzerland and Europe.

NO WATER REFILL STATIONS They literally told me they removed all the free water refilling station (so they were there at some point). Now your only choice is to buy plastic bottled water. A bit backward Switzerland, remember climate change and micro plastics are still a thing!

Fine busy mainline station, located not far from the old city centre. It is a mix of old and modern building infrastructure featuring many shops and boutiques. Trains leave for France and the rest of Switzerland. Most people speak a little English if you can't speak German.

SBB Basel Railway Station is an exemplary transportation center. Its blend of historic charm and modern efficiency creates a welcoming atmosphere. With superb connectivity, diverse amenities, and a commitment to sustainability, it's a must-visit for travelers. All top restaurants are next to it, local trams are right in front and SBB station is 22 min by Bus 50 from it making excellent for international travellers. Very safe and convenient.
