nice food authentic Indian food mouthwatering taste, hosting from mr, Rajender is very frendly, we visited many times on this Rest. we like the rest taste samosa& chicken tikka masala with garlic naan was awesome whenever we visited Bern always reserved seat in taj rest. Highly recommended👌

Based on the reviews we decided to have dinner at Taj. All the great reviews were definitely not exagerated. The service was very good and the staff polite and nice. The food was easily the best Indian food we ever had. Our sons (8 and 7) who had the Korma also agreed and we all wanted to go back the next day, which we did. Usually you stick to what you know but because it was so good the first time we were sure that ordering something else would be just as delicious. And it was as expected. Over the two days we had Korma, Butter Chicken, Chenna Massala, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Vindaloo, Palak paneer(with potatoes added per our request), Samosa's and different kind of naans (plain, butter, garlic and chilli). Everything was delicious and we would surely recommend it.

Went to eat dinner here and I was impressed and satisfied with the service I received, the place was clean and cute. While I waited for my lamb biryani, I was served something called Papadam made with chickpeas flour. It came with three different kinds of sauces. It didn't take long for my meal to arrive and it exceeded my expectations, which was based on my rich experiences in many other Indian restaurants around Europe. Last but absolutely not the least, the saff who served me so so polite and nice. I suggest you go here for a good experience of Indian cuisine.

One word: wow. Really amazing food with great hospitality and price. We were little late in night but they still accommodated us. We were slightly worried that being so late, the quality of food might be different but let me say this - it's one of the best in Europe ( I am still to explore lots of places in Switzerland but have traveled my fair share in EU). It's a well maintained family run restaurant in heart of Bern ( 5 mins from Bern Hauptbahnof ) - will be visiting again !

Amazing restaurant with good service and friendly owner. The Dal Makhni is a must try. Indian chai was amazing too. Rotis were soft. The person who served was friendly.

Where is the chicken?? Take-out are really small. There were literally 3 pieces chicken in the plate. Quality is okay but the portion is way too small, for 15 CHF it is not worth it.

Its simply amazing. Loved the garden area with a very cozy setup. Food was brilliant it felt like fresh homemade food made with care. We ordered thali and it was a very good sized portion, more then enough for 1 person with great combinations. Loved the homemade food feeling. If you like Indian food I would highly recommend going to taj.

Nice Indian food in City of Bern and it's relatively cheaper compared to other Indian restaurants around Switzerland. They are polite and speak English, German and Hindi.

One of the really good Indian restaurants in Switzerland and the service and hospitality is excellent. They serve food on top of a candle lit pan which ensures that the food stays hot during the entire meal. Would recommended this place for anyone visiting Bern.

We started with the fried paneer. It was delicious as were the dips. For the main course we had chicken tikki masala and palak paneer and garlic naan. All was some of the best we have ever had and we have eaten Indian in multiple continents and countries including India. Everything was fresh. Spices were great. Naan was superb. Service was excellent. We ended with some cashew ice cream. All was delicious. Highly recommended

The food at this restaurant was simply amazing. Each entrée was served on top of a candle to ensure the food remained warm while we ate. The thalis were large, and very filling. All of the food options we tried were fresh, full of flavor, and not too spicy. The staff was very efficient, and we didn’t have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for our food to arrive. The hospitality was excellent. The owner and his wife were very nice people, and helped us figure out the parking situation near the restaurant. They spoke the same language as us, which was a nice change after not being able to understand the other languages spoken in Switzerland. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Bern craving Indian food!

Deliciously delicious food. Great customer service. This is our second visit, I am from USA and on our very first visit my credit card was declined working due to “chip” issue and the owner of this restaurant help me getting USD with very pretty smile on his face, admired a lot . Very good food. Took a take out. Both veg and chicken curry was really nice. Portion size is also large. Worth a try if you are near Bern railway station.

Wonderful Food, Service and Ambience. Great place to get authentic Indian food in Bern. we have tried this multiple times both dine in as well as take away when hiking in and around Bernese high mountains as well as have been there on festive times for buffet and not only the food quality is great the service is excellent. The restaurant is located in the heart of Bern city very close to Bern Railway station. The owner and entire team is always flexible and welcoming. Highly recommended place for authentic Indian food..

I have been eating at the Taj and ordering take-aways from here since 2019, and the food, the ambience and the people are amazing! I recently arranged a dinner for 18 people (international colleagues and friends) here, and they have loved the experience and most importantly the taste and have been raving about it since. I not only recommend Taj's à la carte menu, lunch buffet, but also for apero's and events.

I've had multiple visits to Taj for lunch and dinner. Authentic taste and good service. The chicken set meal at lunch is recommended and their a la carte menu is also good.

Most authentic Indian restaurant in Bern, without question. The butter chicken is succulent and the crevetten pakora was absolutely delicious. The chicken vindaloo is also wonderful for those who prefer a more spicy dish. Excellent naan as well, soft yet crispy on the outside.

We ate far too much because it was just delicious! The amount of options is almost overwhelming, but we didn't regret our choices for even a second. Staff was friendly and it felt very private and cozy (we got a table in a corner, right next to the heater ❤️). We'll definitely come back!

Terrible delivery. 1.5 hours and am still for my food. So for sure it will arrive cold and we won’t eat it. I called the manager at the restaurant and simply said he can’t do anything and it’s not his fault. For sure no repeat for me

Already ate at the restaurant a few times and ordered delivery - delicious, again! The rice wonderfully fragrant, the sauces (butter chicken = amazing) intense but balanced and the garlic naan does justice to its name. Speedy delivery, too.
