Brought
my
dog
in
for
not
eating,
diahrea,
dehydration
and
puking.
After
ultrasonic
they
recommended
intestinal
surgery
with
a
reportedly
high
chance
of
success.
Since
he
was
fit
for
his
age,
I
consented.
Three
days
postoperatively
he
got
worse
and
a
second
ultrasonic
revealed
fluid
buildup
in
the
abdominal
cavity.
A
suture
was
leaking
digestive
fluids.
I
consented
to
them
opening
him
up
again,
wash
it
all
down
with
antiseptic
and
fix
the
leakage,
again
they
where
confident
this
was
a
course
of
action
with
a
good
chance
of
success.
My
dog
died
under
anesthesia,
probably
too
much
for
his
heart
(which
was
strong)
in
combination
with
septic
shock.
I
paid
4600.-
for
this.
1.
Surgeons
giving
optimistic
asessments,
should
not
have
believed
them.
2.
Probably
didnt
check
for
leakage
with
saline
solution/gas
or
dyes.
3.
Didnt
run
septic
biomarkers
until
day
3
after
surgery,
could
have
probaly
cought
the
issue
early,
with
much
better
outlook.
