The Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic is what I would classify as a truly magnificent hotel. The stunning hotel is located in the heart of Montreux, and is just a minute’s walk to the beautiful lake. You can tell from the moment you walk through the door that the hotel has a rich history, as it’s full of Art Nouveau charm. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, with high ceilings and very luxuriously decorated. The bathroom was wonderful, but not quite as wonderful as the stunning views from our balcony. It was certainly worth paying that little bit extra for a room with a balcony, as it’s a sublime space to sit and soak up the sunshine. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the main restaurant, 45 Grill & Health, for both dinner and breakfast. I left a separate review for my dining experience, as it was sublime, but breakfast was just as good. There was a huge selection of hot dishes, as well as a vast selection of continental meats, cheeses, cereals, and bakery items. A glass of bubbles and enjoying breakfast on their terrace really does make it a memorable start to the day! The service at the hotel is impeccable, and all the staff we met were friendly and attentive. When the reception team learned that our visit was for a special occasion, they arranged for a bottle of sparkling wine to be in our room. This thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated. In short, I wish I could rate it 10 stars, as 5 stars doesn’t do it justice. The hotel is outstanding, and every aspect of our stay was perfect. I highly recommend The Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in beautiful Montreux.

Good location from train station. Clean and good view of the lake. Stayed in Room 410, terrible. Paid premium to stay in Delux room with lake view. Yes, we could see the lake but once in the balcony one could not avoid sea of yellow umbrellas of the bar terrace and the roof of the hotel restaurant. When requested for change of room, reception senior said that we had the largest balcony, ha ha ha! It was a shared balcony with all the adjacent rooms with zero privacy! The bath tub drain plug was not working/broken (I have pictures to prove). No action was taken even after reporting to reception! On switching to shower, hot water would still flow out of the tap at the same time as the shower! Again reported but no action! RAISES QUESTIONS ON HOW MARRIOTT HAS PLACED THIS HOTEL IN AUTOGRAPH GROUP. I wonder how Marriott checks internals of the hotel if they meet the premium standards? Finally, such a lovely location but no access to lakeside from the hotel!

Beautiful hotel right on the walkway around the lake and across the street from the railway station! We had a partial lake view room with twin beds. Room was larger than most we’ve seen in Europe with a balcony large enough to eat dinner on, which we did one evening. Nice surprise was that the room refrigerator only contained items that were gratuitous: water, orange juice, grapefruit juice. And there was a yoga mat in the closet which I used every day as there was room for the mat in our room. Plenty of bath items: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap, and body lotion-all L’Occitane large bottles. Only cons were no room coffee maker and the bathtub/shower combination was slippery and difficult to get in and out of. Would highly recommend.

Views are amazing, but beware … an area full of wine options, there’s no cork screw in the rooms; they are happy to open an even give you an ice bucket if you walk to reception - but, then when we ordered wine again as part of room service they forgot to open the wine… with a cork; maybe have a cork screw in rooms since it’s wine central here?! Spent more time I wanted chasing people in a 4 star hotel

I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. All of the staff were very accommodating and willing to help. The breakfast and lunch were phenomenal. The rooms were clean, well kept, and had stunning views. We enjoyed our stay however if you need a more central location, Montreux is not the city to choose (unless you rent a car). If you plan to take the train it is very convenient as the train station is directly across the street from the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel two nights in the beginning of our trip through Switzerland. I chose Montreux instead of Geneva as a launching off point and I'm glad I did. This hotel was gorgeous, the staff were incredibly helpful and very nice as well as professional. The hotel breakfast was one of the best I've had (loved the French style scrambled eggs) and the view from the dining area balcony was unmatched. It's also right by the train station making it easy to go to and from. Rooms and bathrooms were beautiful, spacious and had great products. We also enjoyed staying out on the balconies and having a drink from the convenience store that's right down the street. Despite the proximity to the train it was quiet and pleasant.

Young French staff member that had only been there a few months helped me check in at 2am, he was very helpful. Great location opposite Montreux station and cafe nearby as well as mini supermarket. View from my room was stunning over the lake - video included in review!

I stayed at the Grand Suisse Majestic last June, and it was amazing. The hotel looks really fancy and old-fashioned, which I loved. The people who work there were really nice and made me feel special. The room I had was super nice and had a great view. The hotel is in a really good spot, close to lots of cool places to eat and shop. I had a great time exploring the city because of that. The people at the hotel took really good care of me, and I felt relaxed and happy during my stay. I had such a good time at the Grand Suisse Majestic, and I can't wait to go back someday. If you want a fancy and special place to stay, I totally recommend it!

My sister & I stayed at this property for 2 nights in July 2023 and absolutely LOVED it!! The view of Lake Geneva from our room was stunning and we had dinner both nights at the fantastic restaurant (and also drinks at the bar one day). The room was modern and the bed was fantastic!! We were wonderfully surprised at check-in when we received museum & transit passes; the Queen experience at the casino was great and we also enjoyed the castle. Montreux is a very walkable city and the hotel is in a central location with lots of great shops and other restaurants around it. We will definitely be back and have also been recommending this hotel to other friends who love Marriott! The thing we were most concerned about from reading other reviews was the parking situation (especially since we traveled for 2 weeks and had quite a bit of luggage), but the train station right across the street was great! It's a very clean and secure parking garage, and there was plenty of room for our rental SUV. Pro tip: if you have a lot of luggage to take into the hotel or want to drop people off, there are 20-minute spaces right across from the main entrance.

Amazing stay at the Grand Suisse. We stayed for just two nights, wish it could have been longer! Our room was clean, spacious, and so inviting. Beautiful views of Lake Geneva. The only drawback for me was the relatively few healthy vegan options when we had breakfast there. But for those without any dietary restrictions, there were plenty of options.

Out of 4 hotels my wife and I were guests at during our visit to Switzerland, the Grand Hotel Suisse was our favourite. The room was incredible with a view of the lake, sunrises, and sunsets that can’t be compared to anything else. The location of the hotel is central with easy walking access to the train (3 min), waterfront (3 min), shopping and everything one could hope for. The hotel restaurant was unexpected and offered an impressive selection. We splurged a little and enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails, which were impressive. But, the simplicity of wandering across the road to a small market, buying cold wine, cheese, and enjoying an afternoon on our balcony watching people explore the lake was truly a highlight of our vacation.

As a frequent guest at this hotel, I am compelled to share my concerns about the declining quality of rooms and the frustrating issue of inadequate temperature control. Over the years, it is disheartening to see that the hotel's management has chosen to prioritize their electricity bill over ensuring their guests' comfort and convenience. One of the major issues that I have noticed is the gradual decline in the quality of the rooms. What used to be well-maintained and inviting spaces have now become worn out and lacking in cleanliness. It appears that the management has failed to address maintenance issues promptly, resulting in a less-than-pleasant stay for guests. The most infuriating aspect is the lack of control over room temperature. Instead of allowing guests to adjust the temperature according to their preferences, the hotel centrally controls the AC settings between a limited range of 22-24 degrees Celsius. This means that guests are left with no option but to endure a fixed temperature that may not suit everyone's comfort level. To add to the frustration, the lack of temperature control also means that guests cannot warm up or cool down their rooms if needed. This limitation is especially problematic during extreme weather conditions when some guests may require a more comfortable room temperature. It is clear that the hotel's attempts to control their electricity bill have come at the expense of guests' convenience and overall satisfaction. Additionally, the management's failure to address the AC issues is a cause for concern. It seems that the AC units frequently malfunction, leading to uncomfortable and stuffy rooms. Guests' complaints regarding this issue often go unnoticed, indicating a lack of attention or indifference on the hotel's part. In conclusion, the declining quality of rooms and the lack of temperature control at this hotel is deeply disappointing. The evident focus on minimizing the electricity bill might be understandable from a financial standpoint, but it should not come at the cost of compromising guests' comfort. I urge the management to prioritize guest satisfaction and address these issues promptly to ensure a pleasant stay for all visitors.

Had a super delightful stay at the Grand Suisse - staff is lovely and really attentive. Rooms overlook the lake and the view is breathtaking. Room was perfect size for a couple l, we stayed 4 nights and didn’t feel cramped for space at all. The location is literally perfect - the station is bang in front, tons of eateries all around, the rooms are so well priced, can’t ask for more. Already planned to book this place when my parents visit Switzerland.

Excellent location, literally right outside the train station. Elegant interior decor, excellent air conditioning. Overall great service. Breakfast comes with a great view on the balcony, buffet style with a great variety and great breakfast pastries. Our room included turn down service. Many staff had a strong French accent, speak slowly when using English. Transportation pass included with the stay.

The hotel is very beautiful. Our room had a balcony looking over Lake Geneva. The food served there was very good. The employees are all kind and helpful. Their kindness made our visit extra special.

This was one of the best hotel in Switzerland. My room was on the corner and in front of the station but very quiet and big. I would definitely going back. Receptionists speaks French and English but not German. The breakfast was very nice and lots of choices. I stayed a few days and it was never same dishes. I recommend you to stay there!

Great and nice hotel. The furniture was new. The location is just few steps from the main station and little steps down from the lake. The hotel was clean and the services was great. The only thing you need to take note that the hotel is not providing a valet parking service. However, the main station multi-story parking is just few meters away.

Right in front of the station. Amazing location and beautiful view over the lake. Service is a bit off though because there were no slippers and robes in the room when we checked in, called them to send 2 but they only sent 1, didn't inform us about how to use wifi at check-in either, takes forever for the front desk staff to pick up the phone and assist, even at breakfast I ordered an omelette that took more than 20 minutes to come and had to ask about it 3 times only to get sth which i didnt order!

Beautiful city, ppl are incredibly nice. Hotel staff were so helpful, I called for something and the person I spoke to was at door within minutes fixing it. The city bus pass was very nice addition to the room and just incredible views.

Excellent location, extremely professional staff and the building has been kept with their wonderful art deco style. The restaurant has a very good kitchen, and amazing view over the lake. Only minus point is that only a breakfast buffet is possible, no à la carte possible.

We had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic in September for our anniversary. The front desk staff were wonderful and very helpful with any questions we had. The view from the room actually made me cry happy tears looking out at Lake Geneva and the mountains in perfect view. The location is phenomenal as it is literally steps from the train station and right on the water. The room was excellent and the hotel itself is stunning. I will definitely come back and highly recommend! We had a magical stay from start to finish!

Won’t recommend this for family with kids or elderly people at all… it’s good for couples as long as they are ok with twin beds as I was told the entire hotel only has twin beds which I found really bizarre… there are no amenities , just a great location. Despite booking two rooms , we were given a room on the first floor that had no view . Even the lobby is on the third floor so it fails me why would they have rooms that feels like basement . The only saving grace is the location as it’s in front of the promenade which came handy for my 4 year old daughter. Besides that , almost everything has been disappointing!

Hands down one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Very welcoming and competent reception, lake view rooms are just stunning. Equipped with balcony it’s just phenomenal. Very good breakfast buffet and dinner place with lake views as well. Good bar and staff for cocktails too. All in all very recommended when staying in Montreux

We just visited the restaurant for their Grill. It was a beautiful area, super elegant and nice in terms of decor and cleaning. I think it's a great place to try but of course it comes with a price. The view and the tasty food pays off! The staff was friendly!

We thoroughly enjoyed our six-night stay at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic. Our room was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had an amazing view of the Christmas market and the lake from our room! The hotel is conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping, the lake, the train station, and bus stops. We plan to stay at the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic again.

Things I like about this hotel: -Room is nice, clean and elegant -Balcony with lake view is superb -Nice shampoo provided Things I don’t like about this hotel: -No concierge at the entrance, which makes us feel we were not welcomed. -No parking provided, we had hard time looking for parking when it’s Sunday and everyone came for the Christmas market. Took us more than an hour to get one parking. -there’s no place to put our own toiletries, the only place to put is above the toilet bowl. -shower and bath together. A bit cramp. - service: 2/5 - breakfast: 3/5 - room: 4/5 Overall comment: room with balcony lake view is perfect, we can see how crowded and happening the Christmas market is. But the service is no good, even the way receptionist answer our questions are not so friendly. Not sure it’s because we are Asian, but it’s just doesn’t feel good. Breakfast has plenty of choices but taste just normal.

I just wanted to come in to say that you will not regret anything about your stay at this magnificent property. I have to admit, the weather was also so perfect that we couldn't stop smiling. The room was spotless and well appointed. We had an unbelievable view of the lake from our room and small balcony. They have a restaurant and outdoor lounging/bar area downstairs and we sat out there for a long time talking it all in. I didn't check out the gym or any other facilities. But everything that I did see was perfect. I can't wait to return.

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel in an amazing location, with an amazing view. Great touch with Loccitanne products in room. Staff are very friendly and welcoming in restaurant and bar, food and breakfast in hotel was top notch. Cocktails are very nice too!!. Would love to come back, maybe coffee and tea would be lovely to have in room., but thank you!

This hotel did not disappoint. Amazing location. Rooms clean and comfy and lots of lovely toiletries to enjoy while on our stay. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic no complaints at all. The hotel itself was breath taking. Amazing attention to detail. So close the to train station and looking out over Lake Geneva, this hotel was definitely in a prime location. Worth a visit. Would hope maybe one day to return to Montreux.

Excellent location for us as it was right across the main station. Made it super convenient. But since it's close to the main station can get busy so if you're looking for a more secluded hotel this may not be ideal. The room was clean and spacious. It had a proper closet. They offered robs, slipper and L'occitane products. The water and juice are complimentary. We didn't have a balcony room but I suggest it. They have a beautiful outdoor restaurant/bar called 45. Check it out for sure. It's a bit pricey but beautiful vibe. The reception were nice . The elevators are super tiny for a hotel this size. They look like North American residential elevators but maybe that's how it is in Europe. Even though, we were there during the Jazz fest, the hotel didn't seem overcrowded and we felt comfortable.

By far the best hotel room and staff. Everyone was courteous and went above and beyond. Super clean rooms and hotel. Made us feel really comfortable on our stay. Hope to stay there again. I can't say enough about the views from our balcony of the lake and French Alps. Definitely wish to stay there again. This is my #1 pic in Geneva!!! Love you guys!!!
