This place is Winsome BBQ or Winsome Bento or some other confusion of names, if it's officially a Hot Star franchise still its not one of the better owned ones, with the previous clear branding all covered in other takeaway options. The menus are a mess, just menus of different types plastered everywhere.The kitchen is disorderly and slow, it looks a bit hard to trust that kitchen, oil splattering everywhere. Batter can be a bit uncooked in places. The overall flavour expected of a giant flattened breaded chicken is the same as at other places in this franchise, but it's not like it used to be.

Order 35 dollars items but not much edible Thick and undercook battered for original fried chicken and squid spectacle ( $11.80 for 6 little legs) Sweet potatoes also undercook that whole lots has been stick together Chicken skin undercooked as well and very oily Requested mild but it became very spicy Can’t be bothered to walk back to complaint that I have to throw away everything

You definitely don’t go there with high expectations, the dirtier the place is the tastier it gets ahahha. Been lucky yesterday, had the original and it was great , spicy with salt pepper . Not much to complain about.

Batter was too thick that it was mostly uncooked and chewy, not crispy! Batter falls right off the meat. Disgusting food!

I don’t know if it’s new ownership or not because of the name change but the chicken is not up to its usual standard now. There were barely any spice powder on the chicken, and the batter was soggy and uncooked. It was so disgusting, I had to throw the whole chicken away after a few bites. No lie, I wanter to throw up afterwards. Absolutely gross, don’t go there.

I ordered crispy fried chicken (whole chicken) and only got two crispy fried chicken (chicken breasts) without chicken wings or drumsticks. This is deceiving consumers and the skin of the fried chicken is super thick and not even cooked, super bad experience. This place is now Winsome BBQ no longer Hot Start.

I came here on a Friday night, and I’m not kidding I waited half an hour — 30 minutes (!!!) to get one fried boneless chicken. There was only one person in front of me and the cherry on top is that they gave me the wrong order after ALL that wait — boned chicken instead of boneless. The chicken itself was also barely cooked — I had to throw the whole thing away and ended up being sick later. The workers also barely understood an ounce of English, I understand that not everyone speaks fluent English but it took 10 minutes alone just to order. Please please do not come here, like truly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
