The most Luxurious tea room I’ve ever been to. Fine China tea set, tasty cake and sweet, nice music, spacious floor….I love all of them. We had good time there.

The staff were very elegant, attentive and efficient. The food was lovely, and of a high quality. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of service. The staff asked if I would like to have a refill of the food and for more hot water added to my tea. We had the Spicy Vanilla Dream & Irish Whiskey Cream Tea Pots (they’re amazing with / without milk). The service is beyond First Class. Definitely would visit again!

Bad service, disappointed afternoon tea experience. Everything was good, except a front desk waiter was a little bit rude. Scones were big and tasty and the environment was pretty and good. It costed around 90 per head. The food came around 10:40. But at around 11:55am a waiter came to give us the bill and said we should go immediately. However we haven’t finished our food at that time. That rude waiter came twice asked us to leave and his attitude was very rude. We knew there are two hour limitation for the restaurant. If there were two hours, we should still had at least 15-30 minutes. What’s more, no customers waited outside and there are still more than 20 tables and 100 seats at that time. What a bad experience in Sydney. Thanks to him, he gave me the rudest and poorest experience in Sydney🤣

The foods were decent for the price tag. The scones, similar to the size of a burger, tasted good but a little too large. I couldn’t eat any other stuffs after finishing the scones. 😂 Service was exceptional. The waiting staff was very responsive to customers’ requests. The place was quiet and not too crowded. It’s perfect for special occasions. I would give them a perfect score had they provided the option of lactose-free milk (they offered almond milk or soy milk as alternative but they just taste different). Since my local cafes and even cafe at Timezone (a game arcade) serve lactose-free milk at no extra cost, I do expect such option to be available at a fine-dining restaurant.

I have been to a number of high teas throughout Sydney and a renowned one in Melbourne but The Tea Room is by far the best. Everything is the perfect amount of sweet and savoury, there is a wide range of teas available, and we were even given a little cake as it was our anniversary. What adds to the atmosphere is the beautiful room with chandeliers and patterned ceiling. The service staff are delightful and always had a smile. This is such a lovely place to catch up with friends or celebrate an anniversary. I will most definitely be going again for a special occasion! Thank you

I had a ridiculously expensive afternoon tea on Saturday, 8 April 2023 at this venue. The front desk and waiting staff were fabulous. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary/noteworthy. Each person received three finger sandwiches, one scone with jam and preserves, and 4 petits fours with a pot of tea for the best part of $100 per head. At that price, it really should be very good. The selection of teas was very good, as were the crockery and the decor. I got charged a $20 surcharge for a public holiday, even though it was on a Saturday, which I thought was a bit over the top. Sadly, as I was leaving the venue, I visited the restrooms and observed one of the staff exiting on of the cubicles and leaving without pushing his hands. This I thought was completely unreasonable and reported to the front desk. While the food was acceptable at $100 ahead, I couldn’t recommend this place, especially given the hygiene practices of the kitchen staff. Update following the reply from the venue - Thanks for getting back to me, I struggle to comprehend/see how the staff member did not work at the Tea Room as he entered the "Back of house" via the Staff only door half way along the corridor on the left on the way back to the lovely Tea Room itself...?.

Definitely the prettiest high tea I’ve had in Sydney.. like just look at the plates and set up 😳 Wasn’t cheap at $70pp but you get a range of savoury tasters and sandwiches as well as sweet treats and of course a massive scone with cream and jam each. You also get to choose a tea/coffee each which was nice. Service was very friendly and interior was very beautiful. They also cater to dietary requirements - usually you need to give a days notice but they were able to get a DF set up for one of us.

My lunch date and I were looking for a brunch place and this seemed to this most sensible option. Courteous staff of course, We elected the Traditional High Tea. Earl grey and long black for our beverges. We expect to have much leftover, but ended up smashing it all and leaving the plates clean. Heavenly scones - the cream and jam were light and didn't interfere with the scones' natural flavor. All sweets (4 pieces x 2) were consumed in jiffy, contrary to any recent weight concerns. As a fan of earl grey tea in general, unsprisingly, the tea leaves were of quality that would bring me back for the tea alone.

Arabella was our events coordinator leading towards our wedding at the QVB. She was calm, collective, supportive and listened to our thoughts for the day that ran smoothly. Philip and I was so happy when everything went into place. We just got married on Friday and the service was amazing. Sharon and Michael looked after us on the day of wedding and we had an amazing time. Our guest was in love with the food, services and most all enjoying our reception and couldn't believe the beautiful detailed in the tea room. We definitely recommend this service to anyone who is looking for a reception place. Rosie & Philip

What a great experience. We didn’t have a booking but were lucky enough to get in. Beautiful room and although the tables seem close, you’re still seated in a way where you can talk amongst yourselves without overhearing anyone else’s conversations. Absolute stellar service. A great ambience about the place. My first high tea experience and it’s one I’ll definitely remember. Would recommend for a lovely outing. Is it a little pricey? Sure. But you’re definitely paying for the full experience which is absolutely worth it.

Great venue and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and obviously happy in their work and chatted freely with patrons. This is a MUST for people to do when in Sydney. Was pleasantly surprised with the variety of foods, teas, beverages.

Great High Tea option in Sydney. The drinks were amazing, and the scones with clotted cream and jam were definitely the highlight. One of the best scones in Sydney for sure. The sandwich bread was slightly thick but still tasted great. One of our petit fours was rocky road which I found slightly strange - and lower effort, but other than that the rest were delicious. Didn’t love the savoury pastries but they were still acceptable. Service was very good! Staff were incredibly friendly and kind.

I have wanted to check this place out for years and finally decided to go for my birthday this year and I was not disappointed! Loved the whole experience! The room is gorgeous and grand! The food was delicious and the selections of tea was extensive. The staff were fantastic and I was also surprised with a birthday tart which added that extra special touch to my day! Definitely making this a special annual outing for my birthday. Loved it!

The restaurant is getting a bit tired, and the staff who gave our tea needed more training to know what tea is supposed to be served with milk. So why 5 stars? The Tea Room has the best scones (with double cream and jam) in the city. It's an institution in a historic building providing a little haven in a bustling city.

We had High tea today at the tea room and everything was quality from the food to customer service to the place itself. I highly recommend this place for high tea to anyone wanting an all up experience.

I was treated to a high tea in the ballroom and enjoyed a lovely afternoon. Plenty of food was delivered, and the tea menu was extensive. The settings were pretty and in keeping with the age of the venue itself, that being the chandelier lit, former ballroom. Staff were lovely and explained each item on the plates and then came back later with hot water to fill our teapots. They possibly could have offered another tea refill or choice of tea, but that's not a problem as we could have just asked if we really wanted anything more.

The scones, clotted cream and jam were heavenly. They give you many tea selections and keep refilling your hot water. We did high tea and there is so much food we couldn't finish it all. The room and the entire Queen Victoria Building are beautiful. Yet, if you are new to high teas, you will feel comfortable and pampered. Service was excellent but not overwhelming.

I came here for my birthday not too long ago with my friend. We enjoyed the high tea and our server was very nice, I don't remember her name, though. The atmosphere was lovely, however I almost wish it were busier as the dining hall seemed a bit empty, but a few people came and went while we were there. I definitely enjoyed the savoury foods, especially the cute little sandwiches.

I wanted to thank my friend for being so kind and thoughtful over almost 55 years of friendship. This was the perfect place! The setting was perfect because we could both travel there from the east and the west on public transport. Every single mouthful of the food was delicious and the servings were generous. The most outstanding aspect of our visit was the beautiful thoughtful service. We were graciously welcomed by Sharon who was kind and attentive the whole time we were there. Good business thrives on people like Sharon. Camille also offered great service. It is not often that I could afford to visit The Tea Room in the gorgeous QVB building but it was the most perfect way to celebrate friendship.

The Tea Room is classic, elegant and beautifully decorated. The food is delicious and there are a huge collection of tea to choose from. This well located high tea place is perfect for a small gathering of friends to enjoy their afternoon together. The staff are friendly and professional which also add on to the wonderful experience you will get here. Recommend this place to everyone to try.

The place is very beautiful, the general atmosphere, and the service is good. Nevertheless, I have some remarks. I imagined before coming to this place that the type of music is different so that it is classic and synchronized with the time period of the palace, so that we can live the experience in its details. Also, the waitress is the one who pours tea into the cup for the first time and then the customer takes over this. The task, as in other restaurants of this kind in Britain was to bring tweezers to transfer sweets or sandwiches to my plate, but when I asked for them, the waitress brought them. As for the food it was better or the menu had more details about the dishes, their ingredients or their names, so that what was inappropriate was excluded. For me this is everything except that the general atmosphere is excellent and I will repeat the visit again.

Fantastic high tea with wonderful service, arguably one of the best in Sydney. You feel like royals for a day and the ambience is breathtaking. They were so accomodating with our dietary requirements which we let them know in advance. If you go here, make sure to order the Earl Grey. It is truly the best, even if you don’t usually drink Earl greys. Our family loved it so much that we paid extra to get another tea pot of it!

Being in Queen Victoria Building, The Team Room needed to have an elegant and regal feel to it. The decor delivers exactly that. They offer an excellent High Tea that has a generous mix of both savoury and sweet. Tea selections are extensive. Service is excellent as you would expect.

I have been here on several occasions with friends and family and the experience is always phenomenal. They have all that you would expect of a traditional high tea, but their tea blends are a nice touch. I recently came here to celebrate my third anniversary, and the staff did not disappoint. From the friendly greeting, to the expert and helpful recommendations and advice upon ordering, right through to the service and the high tea itself, the whole experience is thoroughly enjoyable. Nestled in a beautifully well-kept part of the iconic QVB, the Tea Room is a must!

What an outstanding glamorous and venue. The chandeliers are absolutely timeless and stunning. The decor and decorations are world-class. I was here for an International Womens Day event. The high tea was divine, and the food was on point! Delicious coffee, and I especially love the scones. The staff were friendly, engaging, and wonderful. I would highly recommend this venue for a high tea, wedding, or special event 🌸💕💟

Wow, what a venue! The chandeliers, the wallpaper, the furniture. It's all very lavish. Absolutely loved my time here. The high tea is incredible. Such a great selection of foods. Scones, desserts, and little sandwiches. The tea was brilliant. The staff were absolutely fantastic at dealing with dietary requirements. Really wonderful afternoon here!

Gorgeous venue with good ambiance. They catered to our dietary restrictions. We had the traditional high tea - savoury items were great, the sweet items can be hit or miss. Tea selection was good.

High Tea with Santa. We have come the last few years and it's been consistently great. The staff / Elves are fantastic and the food is delicious. Will definitely be here again next year.

Went with a bunch of friends and had the traditional high tea menu. Service was amazing, all staff we encountered were friendly and professional. The food and tea were delicious and came in a timely manner. I especially loved the scones! I would definitely come back here again ☺️

A splendid High Tea, with impeccable service and sensuously wealthy room ambiance. A sumptuous range of the finest teas complimented with the most delicious savouries, sandwiches, scones with fresh jam and whipped cream, and finally petite cakes that just melted in the mouth with flavour. All served with the finest Royal Doulton.

  • 4/5 Whitnieee 2 years ago on Google
Went here and had the Classic high tea for two. Sandwiches isn’t very great but the sweets is pretty tasty. Scones with cream and jam is nice and creamy. I really like the Irish cream tea, they do refill the water pretty regularly so it’s nice. Though it is a little pricey but considering the locations and you get to sit there for a while, I guess it isn’t too bad.
