Sunday roast was an absolute nightmare, and I thought Halloween season was over. The only thing that got roasted was my bank account, cold food, chaotic service, wrong orders, music was too loud and no one seemed to be in charge, and no one wanted to take responsibility. Dont get me started on the toilets and the wet seats, I started the day laughing and smiling and after this experience I don’t think I’ll ever be right again. Avoid this place at all costs.

Good pub and I have been here many times - nice atmosphere, good range of beer and wine, with fun trivia on Tuesday nights, and usually the food is good. However, be warned, don't order the beetroot salad as a main meal (even though it's priced as a main), it is the size of a starter. $22 for a few leaves compared to the $20 Superfood salad which was 4 times the size (see photo). When I asked the staff about the difference in size, they explained this was the right portion size. Plus they didn't understand why $22 for a very small portion was an issue. Overall I was very disappointed with the staff response when I raised this with them.

I don’t know how to explain the Sunday roast except for wet and soggy. One of the worst roasts I’ve had in Sydney. We may have been unlucky as the reviews seem to be a mix of great and terrible.

When you enter the hotel, nice, warm and welcoming environment plus the atmosphere and happening vibe was a big tick. Came before 6 pm and this place was packed and can’t get any empty table. My sirloin roast was good, love the Yorkshire pudding, and the trimming was roasted nicely. Personally don’t like the cauliflower and potato can use more salt. Lamb roast a little bit chewy, and even though mint sauce was runny however it was great condiment for the lamb. All this yumminess was was down with young hendri “naturally brew” on tap.

We had a decent roast dinner here recently. It was very suitable for gluten free which was a bonus (minus the Yorkshire pudding). The main thing it lacked though was consistency. Some of the items were excellent, but others no so much.

Ok rooms, reasonable price, but poor service. I was there from Feb 4-7, I spoke the manager on duty one night in their restaurant, and he responded with mockery voice/ tone as if making fun of me. Such an idiot.

Sunday Roast was rubbish, Pork crackling was soft and under done, potatoes were meant to be roasted and were wet and soggy (wrong potato variety used - stupid), carrots and parsnips were steamed not roasted or honey glazed, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt to a crisp. At $32+ I really would expect more for a pub supposedly known for its “Sunday Roast”. When we complained the staff said they would tell the chef, never returned so presumably he could care less. 4 meals with Friends all were the same quality.

Stayed here on a saturday night. Music downstairs was actually really good to fall asleep to. Had a very comfortable stay. Was the best priced accomodation we could find in the eastern suburbs and was very impressed and would stay again.

service was slow and the tables are all filthy , can’t out anything down without them sticking to the table and hands down the worst steak I’ve eaten in my life, better off chowing down on a pair of RMs

Pub was about half full when we walked in after oztag down the road and grabbed one of the many empty tables. As we sat down the bartender approached us and told us we had to sit outside in the cold as “this is a family pub”. Absolutely not okay to have discrimination like that in this day and age. Also food is not great.

The no frills frozen pizzas from Coles have more flavour. Criminal that you think you can charge 25 bucks a pizza for things that arent worth 5.

The staff went out of their way to check me in even though I was way past the hotel check in window. The room was fantastic, clean and comfortable. The only big downside was the lack of heating on a very cold Sydney Winter night

Ate in the beer garden outside. Very poor lighting. Ordered the veal snitchzel. It was as rough and dry as some old single ply tissue paper. No juice and lacked bounce. The salad had a few interesting factors however it lacked direction, the fries were cold and the gravy was as bland as this review. The only good thing was that this place is dog friendly and if you are a beer drinker there seemed to be some good selections on tap.

Steak was tough. Cooking was inconsistent (well done one side, blue the other.) Sauces are either packet mix or really poor and reek of a lazy chef. Fries were over cooked. This meal was not worth $42. Atmosphere and venue was nice beer garden was nice.

Came here for dinner with a friend the other night. I hadn’t been in quite a while and the many years ago I’d been here, I was in the bar area and had ordered a glass of wine the arancini balls which were delicious! My experience this time round was pretty damn average. I ordered the beef burger, which was ok, but patty was dry and a bit burnt around the edges. The bun and condiments were ok and saved my meal from being dire. Fries also dry, had to soak them with tomato sauce. The French rosè was yum however, at $11 a glass. But here comes the reason why I’m leaving this one star review!!! We decided to have dessert and there were only 2 options to choose from. We decided to share the bread and butter pudding - perfect for the autumn eve. When it arrived, we started to tuck in and I was really confused. It was dry, with no custard at all and tasted more like a bun with fruit in it and a big dollop of ice cream on top. I began to pull things apart to inspect further and as I flipped over these pieces of bread, discovered it was a heated up hot cross bun that had been sliced into 3 and restacked!!! Yes, we actually saw the cross on top! OMG my friend and I just laughed… how stupid can one kitchen be to try and pull that off as something else!!! I complained to the bar staff, who handled it well and gave us a refund. I felt sorry for their experience and the embarrassment they would’ve felt having to deal with that. I wish I took a photo of our dessert, it was rather hilarious! But won’t be coming back here, simply because of the lack of integrity of the kitchen.

Room was disgusting. Stained sheets. No base sheet. Splatter on the wall of who knows what, open sugar packets. The list goes on. What offered a free meal and drink and when we went to cash that in was met with a hostile manager who said verbatim “you be nice to us, we will be nice to you” very threatening. Security guard even got involved because this manager was getting hostile. Partial refund was also offered and after following up, I have been ignored and doubt we will ever see that partial refund. Great place for an evening out but do not recommend staying there.

Incredible food, good range of drinks. Just a bit on the expensive side of things. Great Sunday roast.

The price range was a bit high for a regular pub feed but nothing to complain about, the food was decent and the staff were very friendly and kind. I would say that the sizing is appropriate for the price range anyway. Nothing too special about the place but would go again for a brunch! Very aesthetically beautiful.

Went for Sunday roast. Lamb was overcooked. Veges were also overcooked. Staff friendly. Unfortunately the god awful very loud live music prevented any decent conversation. Won't be going back.

Oh dear - it seems I had a similar experience ordering food as some of the other reviewers for this place. Waited 40 minutes for food and then was told the order "didn't go through to the kitchen". Particularly disappointing that the vacant Aussie behind the bar who took the order didn't come to apologise but sent over his colleague, throwing him under the bus instead.

Went for a Sunday roast. It was amazing food, great portion and friendly staff. Always busy which is a good sign. Make a booking for the weekend to secure a table!

Completely disappointed with this hotel: 1) no air conditioning, so in winter season it's freezing. 2) in 4 nights here NOBODY came to tidy my room despite having put the signal "tidy my room" of the hotel outside of my door. 3) WiFi does not reach my room, so I had to use my mobile data. If I had knew it before I would have gone to an apartment and spend half the price for this accommodation. Completely not recommend this hotel.

Decent rooms and location but pub downstairs played very loud live music until 02:30am and its very loud in the rooms. If you are looking for a good sleep I wouldn't recommend
