Well ... not the Best .. the food is seriously under whelming.. and very over priced.. its a menu from the 1990s and restaurant prices. Very average. We came back on Sunday only because of the kids eat free. But they don't do that anymore.... I tried the special.. ribs and wings. $33 and tbh was the worst meal I have had anywhere in years ... dry.. absolutely tiny portion so I felt ripped off and everyone on the table was under whelmed with there meals. The Ranch is so far behind the food standard pubs are pumping out these days ... I think it lacks detail, care, creative dishes and feel its a real money grab ! Won't be back.

New menu - very limited and cost cutting at every turn. Parts of the meal were fine, but other parts just tasted of cost-cutting. Very disappointing compared to previous visits. I would go back, but just with greatly reduced expectations. I understand the need for cost-cutting in the current economic environment, but they have just gone too far and it really shows. The staff seems a bit over it too - probably getting loads of moaning from customers. The beer was good though!

Very poor quality food at restaurant prices. Ordered crab and prawn pasta, it was tasteless I had to put salt in there even though I don’t like too much salt in my food, pasta was overcooked and there was no crab in there but whole lot of oil. I also ordered Caesar salad and paid $5 extra for grilled piece of chicken but it was dry, old and cold I think it was left over from yesterday. I told the manager but all he could say is can I get you a drink for your troubles. I really don’t think they are going to do anything about it. Last time I be going to this place, better off going to a nice restaurant and getting value for your money.

unfortunately i can’t say i was very impressed with the ranch, which is disappointing as we are relatively new to the area and we’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. we ordered the chicken parmigiana with gravy and the rump steak with mash and chips. the chicken parmigiana arrived with no gravy, and it was very average with not much taste. the steak arrived with a mountain of chips (i ordered mash as well, which didn’t arrive) and was a bit pink for a medium. the steak had pieces of fat that I had to cut off and it was a bit gritty and chewy. you get a tiny sauce pot with the steak which wasn’t enough considering the amount of food you get on the plate, and i also had to share it with the chicken parmigiana as they didn’t get their gravy. despite not particularly enjoying the taste of the meals you do get a large portion size - if the food was tastier it would be great value, but the food is extremely average quality. for a $70 bill, the coke jug shouldn’t haven’t been the most enjoyable aspect of our meal… we would have spoken to a waiter/waitress about the missing items but as it’s order at the counter or with QR code they don’t seem very approachable…the table sat near us also immediately complained about something when they received their food so that was our sign to leave. when we entered there was no hostess to greet or sit us despite there being a counter and a sign to say wait to be seated. i look forward to trying the ranch again in the next few months to see if their quality and attention to detail improves.

We went to the Bristol for lunch. We ordered two rump steaks medium rare. We were the first on the queue. Half an hour later, still not serve. Others after us all got theirs foods. Went to check with the waiter on our orders. Apparently our order was miss place, had to use our receipt to know what we ordered. Streaks came twenty minutes later. The toughest steaks I had ever eaten in Australia. Very disappointed.

Dined with my family at The Ranch, and unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. While there were a few positive aspects, such as generous serving sizes and ample chips, the food quality and limited drink selection were major letdowns. Despite making a reservation ahead of time, we were dismayed to discover that our table number had been reserved for another party. Eventually, we found an unnumbered table, which only added to the confusion for the restaurant staff. To exacerbate matters, the counter staff repeatedly asked for our table number whenever we placed an order. Each time, we had to explain that we had not been assigned a specific table number. About the Food: We ordered a medium rare steak, hoping for a flavourful and perfectly cooked piece of meat. However, the flavour failed to meet our expectations. The taste was disappointing to the point where I wouldn't even consider paying the lunch special price for it. Additionally, the classic chicken parmigiana, although it looked visually appealing, lacked any distinguishing flavours. It was an average dish that didn't stand out in any way. The Angus beef burger was acceptable, but I've had better burgers at more affordable prices elsewhere. Overall, there was nothing remarkable or memorable about the food, except perhaps for the generous amount of chips provided. The limited drink selection (non-alcoholic) was another disappointment. There were only two juice flavour options for our little one and one was unavailable. It's frustrating when the restaurant fails to cater to the preferences of its young patrons. Furthermore, the arcade area within the restaurant was a letdown. Despite its presence, none of the games seemed to be functioning properly. It left us wondering why the arcade was there at all. We can only hope that the management has plans to address and fix this issue in the future. On a positive note, the playground slide provided some entertainment for our child, and they enjoyed that aspect of the dining experience.

Our family dined there to make use of the space and the playground facility for our kids which was nice. But unfortunately that was the only nice thing about the dinner. The food was very disappointing. I ordered a $42 t - bone steak medium rare, and it was dry and overcooked. There was a thin portion of it which I'm pretty sure it was burnt. The kids spaghetti was so sweet it just tasted like tomato sauce. We ordered the chocolate log dessert, and it tasted and looked like sticky date. When we questioned it to the waiter, he just said it's white chocolate. It looked different to the photo in the menu. Overall, a very disappointing meal. Will not return again.

Our lunch experience at this restaurant was with a large group of 12 people. I'm grateful that I made an online reservation, as the place was quite busy on that particular day. Initially, we were seated at a large table, but we found it difficult to converse across such a vast space. When we requested a table change, the staff happily assisted us in finding a more suitable arrangement. The food served was good, although we felt it was slightly overpriced. However, both the food and drinks were promptly delivered to our table, ensuring a timely dining experience. One highlight was the excellent kids play area, which our children thoroughly enjoyed. It provided them with entertainment while the adults enjoyed their meal. Additionally, the provision of a kids' activity coloring pack was a thoughtful touch. It's worth noting that the restaurant has undergone significant improvements since my university days, creating a more enjoyable and accommodating atmosphere.

This might just seem like a normal bistro being part of a hotel, but the food is actually very nice. We had a crispy skinned salmon and a Graziers rump steak, both were cooked really well! We also ordered a beer and a cocktail and both were nice too! I also really like their Tap, Order & Pay system making the ordering process so much easier without having to queue up!

This kid-friendly restaurant is a great place to eat out with kids. There is a play area for little ones right next to the family tables. You can look out and watch over them through the large glass doors. There's a small games arcade too - the water shooting monkey game had little kids spellbound! The outdoor seating area looked great for small events. Even though it's very close to the main road, it wasn't noisy. Staff was great, food was good and drinks were too. One thing we'll always remember The Ranch for is the oversized American portion sizes :)

Went here for a lunch. Food portions were quite large. The nachos were really nice but it would be best if the cheese was on top instead of embedded in the guacamole. The cheese melted the paper a bit which caused some of the text stick onto the cheese. But overall experience was nice. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the buffalo wings

Spent the morning watching junior soccer then as I’ve got no friends I went up to The Ranch alone. They serve pints. Which is always a good sign. Had a couple of pints and considered having some lunch. Tossed up between bucket of chicken wings and hamburger. Went with the chicken wings. I think it was $19.00. So many wings I didn’t finish them. Went outside for a vape and another pint. Spent the afternoon lamenting the lack of romance and love in my life. The date I had on Thursday night went well but the following morning she said it was nice but don’t call me I’ll call you. She never called. Still the Ranch had that depressive and shady atmosphere that suits my mood. Beer was lovely cold just like my heart.

Brilliant fast service using a table QR code and Google Pay for payment. We ordered a Seafood Tower and OMG it could feed four adults, it was huge, very well prepared, not greasy and had a mix of fresh seafood also. Come in and try it, you will not be disappointed

This place is huge with great service, looks like loads of interesting food and drink options and even a purpose built kids entertainment area with arcade games. The outdoor seating was well set up with plenty of shade. There are lots of big tables for families and small ones for dates. The main area is away from the gambling area so all different types of groups can enjoy. The booths could fit 10 people, maybe more. If you want a quiet drink with 1 or 2 friends or need to entertain a cast of thousands you should be fine with this place.

The food is a bit hit and miss at The Ranch. We have had cold chips and overcooked steaks but this time we had really delicious pulled pork nachos. Fresh and hot. The drinks are over priced but it's a convenient place to meet up with friends so I'll be back.

Back in the day the steaks were excellent and perfectly cooked every time. Came here for the first time after Covid and will likely never come here again for steak. Not worth the $40.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to dine with your family! The food here is consistently served quickly and is absolutely delicious, ensuring that you and your daughter have a wonderful dining experience. What sets this restaurant apart is its thoughtful consideration for families, evident in its well-designed kids area and an arcade section. These amenities create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for children, making it easier for parents to have quality time with their kids while enjoying a meal. Furthermore, the restaurant's accessibility is excellent. With easy access and ample parking facilities, you don't have to worry about any hassles when visiting. Whether you're a regular patron or a first-time visitor, the convenient location and parking options make it a stress-free experience. Overall, this restaurant provides a delightful combination of delicious food, family-friendly amenities, and hassle-free accessibility, making it a top-notch choice for a memorable outing with your loved ones.

The customer service was terrible, both from the bar and the kitchen, the bartender, and the cashier, called Maya. They avoid eye contact, and it seems they are barely paying attention to what you want to order. There was only a nice girl picking up glasses from the tables called Jessica; she was nice and kind. We ordered a $38 vegetarian gnocchi, and the taste was good, but the portion was quite small, considering the price. The pizza was average and somehow a little bit bland. In summary, it's just a simple pub with nothing special, boring with bad service. I recommend you go after eating in another place, to drink something only instead, if you don't care about the low quality service.

This turned out to be a good place for an overnight stop near our destination in North Ryde. The rooms were good - we booked two - and the beds comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. As we arrived late we did not purchase food at the bistro but the drinks were cold at the bar.

Steak with Garlic Prawns and greens and chips was delicious and something for all ages in the playground,I really liked it was so close to bistro area. Would have been better if they had nuggets on their menu and the kids meal came with ice cream or a drink, colouring in like some places. I really liked there is a kids games room, make sure ur bring plenty of coins. Over all great atmosphere.

I was pleasantly surprised at the speed which the food came out, portion sizes and flavours. I have been here previously for UFC events and the service was questionable waiting over 1 and 1/2 hours for meals. This experience was the opposite so I would suggest getting in early for a dinner.

Our friends ordered Seafood Towers & pizzas for all. Good selection. The smoked salmon was fresh and delicious with the dill sauce. Battered Calamari was tender & tasty. Grilled scallops, prawns & fish were done to perfection (& of course were fresh). To round these off, salad and chips were included. However, the battered fish was tough and not flaky and the price is a tad high. The pizza tasted good but the dough seemed store bought. Service was slow too, our food came in about an hour's time (and the place wasn't filled up).

( I am afraid that I have to temporarily downgrade the restaurant rate to one star just because they try to be "Vaccine police". Australia is a free country and no one should ask others to show proof of vaccination to enter to a bar! That's unacceptable. ) A family friendly restaurant with good food and nice staff. It is in my top10 list of restaurants in Sydney.

As an international student studying at Macquarie university and staying at Macquarie university Village back in 2017 we had a great time going to The Ranch hotel on hump day (Wednesday) to party after a long day of studying. The ranch hotel provided free pick and drop off to the students staying at Macquarie University village. We had one of the really great nights at The Ranch. So many memories. Thank you for the great time while I was studying. The ranch also had theme nights every now and then and students would dress up and have a great night.

Ordered steak and bbq brisket, both were extremely dry. I couldn't even get my fork into the brisket it's like a chunk of cured meat or beef jerky. Only explanation, they've been microwaved! Chips were already cold and soggy. Fish and chips, fish is like the cheap ones you get in the supermarket. Completely not worth the price. Won't go there again. The one star is for the friendly waitress.

The best place to be after a hockey game at Macquarie ice rink. The staff really look after our fan base (go Bears!). They are extremely accommodating, streaming our Away games on the big screen, letting us rearrange the furniture to watch, providing a shuttle service to home games. Truly above & beyond. The food & drink selection are excellent.

Amazing food, very clean considering how old the place is, and the manager was amazing, letting us set the tables to our liking so we could watch the kids in the play area. Staff attitudes can be improved, particularly at the bistros bar and children's play area. But I will definitely return.

Friendly bar staff and good seating in the bistro area. A excellent range of tasty, well presented, and moderately priced meals. A great place to catch up with mates and chat without any excessive background noise. A great experience and we will all visit again.

Came here for dinner and wasn't expecting much, but was actually pleasantly surprised! Enjoyed a delicious chicken parm, with tasty ham and cheese. It was really juicy, easy to cut in to and very filling. It came with tasty, crunchy fries, a small pot of sauce (I ordered mushroom sauce) and some slaw. The slaw was decent, I just wish it was tangy. I also ordered a jug of LLB, which was great, and some garlic / herb bread, which was delicious and crisp. Definitely recommend coming here if you want a chill dinner with mates.

We had dinner at the pub. It was busy on a Sat night and the large dining area was pretty busy. Despite that, kitchen sent out the meals quite quickly. Serving sizes were generous but food was pretty average. I found the roast chicken on the salty side, ended up having to drink lots of water. There's a small play area next to the dining area for kids to burn off some energy.

The Ranch Bistro has been there a long time and perhaps it's time for a bit of TLC. It's looking tired. I noticed there was a play area for the kids which is great. We had a party of 12. Booking on line was very easy as was confirming it the day before. I really like the QR Code system for ordering drinks and food. However, the general feedback from the group about the food was it was just ok. I ordered a medium cooked steak at $42 that came to me as well we'll done - very well done. That's disappointing given the price of the dish. Others commented that the food was ordinary in taste. The staff were welcoming and very friendly when delivering drinks and food. Overall a reasonable place for a Sunday afternoon catch up.

I had dinner with my friends there last night. Alice was a great host. She was friendly and very helpful. We like her a big smile. Nick was friendly and informative as well. He helped me with the me&U ordering. However, we are slightly disappointed about the food menu which has less options than it used to be.

Have been going to The Ranch for years and found the the standard of the menu has been declining. We have been going recently on either Friday or Sat for dinner at 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm when it is supposed to be busy dinner time but was told no roast of the day even when it is available on the digital menu. Not even once. The vegetables came with it was under done and not hot and is only limited to beans and snow peas. The selection for steaks has gone from 7 or 8 choices to only 2 - rump or sirloin and no choice on the size - only 300 grams. We missed the previous menu which has more variety and choice are available。 Good service though

It would have been nice, but we were told we couldn't order what we wanted unless we used their rubbishy online ordering system. We went without - staff couldn't help me, and it felt more like an unreliable 'ubereats' experience than a quality restaurant. Next time we have a family gathering, we're going to somewhere that takes service seriously.

Loved my stay.Convenient for what l needed. Beds and shower were lovely. Food in the pub was delicious. Housekeeper was friendly and always happy to help. The girl on the front desk was the only let down. She was miserable and did not once say good morning or good afternoon. Very poor form.

I regularly visit the Ranch with another family. The food is mediocre but the proximity to home meant it was a convenient place to visit on weekends. We arrived today and the staff member at the entrance did not greet us as we scanned in, she didn’t even look up when I thanked her. After waiting an hour for our meal, my husband asked if it would be ready soon, only to find out that they had missed the order. The chef turned his back and said “five minutes” after yelling at other kitchen staff and did not apologise. As a result we asked for a refund. The staff member at the bistro register who gave us the refund was the only polite person there. Seriously frustrated with this place as there have been other times where customer service was lacking.

Unfortunately the quality of food is no longer even close to what it used to be. With 5 mates tried to check the bistro again and we ordered Steak, Schnitzek, Full pork ribs, and wings. Clearly the meat for Steak was not fresh , it was very chewy and probably been in freezer for a long long time. Surprisingly you had to order and pay extra for mushroom sauce while in all other bistros , the choice of sauce comes with steak. The wings were just plain deep fried wings, no sauce, hardly any seasoning Even KFC does better than wings. Schnizel was ok, well you can't really mess much with a breast piece and bread quoting....I didnt try the full ribs , but a friend who ordered it , said it was just was just average. Overall it was a very unsatisfying experience with a total bill of 200 bucks the quality was very poor. Goodbye Ranch, I have had much better food in your Bistro..

The Ranch is located on the corner of Herring and Epping Roads. Entrance to on-site parking is via Herring Road. The food is reasonably priced and very good. They have a daily Roast of the Day of either beef or pork for $15. If you have a Senior's Card then it's $13. There is also a daily Senior's menu of discounted meals. On entry to the restaurant, you are required to leave your contact details for COVID-19 tracing. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The manager looking lady looking after the front door has a very rude tone of voice. Do not want to visit this place again.

We had our daughter's birthday party at the Terrace room. The venue was great and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending this place to all our friends.

Just wanted to say thanks and good luck to all the staff that were working yesterday. Had a great dinner with my family and everyone was upbeat, helpful and went out of their way to appear very positive about changes that may happen. Look forward to the grand reopening, in the meantime stay safe for each other and your families
