I was trying to book an appointment over the phone desperately trying to find a different dermatologist.. and the old lady who works at receptionist was so rude, raised her voice at me in the morning. I was trying to speak to her nicely trying to make her understand my situation but she just sounded frustrated for no reason. This grumpy old lady needs a coffee in the morning or better customer service. She shouldn't be working over the phone if she just wants to tell at everyone. Thankyou for making my morning!

My partner had an appointment a few weeks ago. Receptionist brunette lady was utterly rude and should not be given the job of greeting customers. How someone like this still has her job is beyond me. My partner called to clear up an appointment mistake and she kept cutting him off, being rude toned and snobby, and just overall nasty. I hope something is done about her because it seems as though we are not the only ones who have dealt with her. This place is also extremely hard to book with and so overpriced for a 5 minute consult with information given that we already knew.

My recent visit to the Skin Hospital at Westmead was my second, and the care I received was again first class. From the carpark attendant, to reception, to the theatre staff, nothing was a problem. I was made aware of what to expect before, during and after the procedure, and had total confidence in the staff and surgeons looking after me.

I have cancelled my appointment in August, and I have paid the deposit of $50. However, until today I still have not received the refund. I called them the first time in October for an update, the lady promised me that she would follow up for me. I patiently waited another 3 weeks, and nobody gets back to me. Then I gave them another call, the guy over the phone was telling me that he didn't see any record from last call, but he also promised me that he will give me a call in the next day for an update. Again! The next day I have not received a word! Then I called again, a lady picked up and she said the guy that dealing with this will give me a call for an update in the afternoon. Well, I still have not received a call once again, but a message telling me that my refund will be processed. However, I have now waited for 3 months, and I still have not received the refund. I am deeply disappointed!!!!

The Skin Hospital Westmead was excellent. The environment was clean, well equipped, pleasant. The operation theatre was well organised and clean. The staff at every level from the receptionist to the medical staff and Drs were outstanding- professional, knowledgeable, informative and caring without being intrusive. I felt very well cared for at every stage of my visit to the hospital.

My procedure was carried out with complete professionalism and particular mention must go deservedly to Theatre Nurse Marion whose experience, care and conscientious manner alleviated the stress and strain for me considerably. I thank and commend her for her dedication to patients. Lynette Stapleton (01.08.23)

The receptionist definitely needs some soft skills training. Lady, You see a person standing in front of you for minutes, atleast have the courtesy to request to wait with a smile. That grumpy face and her reply with anger tone when i started to let her know about my appointment with the Dr. Was a complete put off first thing in the morning. Young lady receptionist next to her atleast acknowledged and helped with registration and appointment.

This Google review is for the reception staff only. I called Wednesday asking to pass a message onto my doctor for a call back for blood test results (as instructed by my dr). I called before closing to follow up as I was still waiting. The receptionist (havnt got her name yet) was extremely sarcastic and rude and said dr will call me when she's finished and then hung up on me before I could ask anything else. I have no faith that the original message was passed on because I'm still waiting to hear from my doctor. This is very important because I'm waiting to know if my blood test results show that I can start taking my medication! I emailed the clinic with my complaint also and have had no reply !

A very positive experience overall. Welcoming staff upon arrival and exceptional nurses and doctors who are very friendly and helpful. Dr Nicholas Stewart was very professional, efficient and explained the procedure and treatment options. I have received numerous follow ups and calls to follow up after the procedure. I highly recommend this hospital.

I am highly disappointed with the service. The lady staff member at the reception was very rude. She even talked rudely to me over phone and the same person treated me badly in person. The consultations charges are so high to meet their skin specialist. I met the doctor for like hardly 10 minutes after paying so much. She didn’t really interact with me. Really disappointed by how the consultation was done. After paying so much the doctor just saw me for few minutes and didn’t even care to explain in detail about anything or the treatment. Didn’t answer my questions and she didn’t even care to listen to what I had to say. After couple of minutes doctor just called the nurse and handed me over to the nurse. It was so disappointing that after few minutes the doctor just said that the nurse is suppose to explain to me the treatment. The nurse just gave me the name of the treatment and told me to look up on Google about the treatment. She told me that she will send me an email in depth about the treatment and explaining the process. It has been 4-5 days after my consultation, still haven’t received any emails or update from the nurse or doctor. The treatment was so inhumane. NO CARE SHOWN TOWARDS THE PATIENT . I really had a bad experience overall. I was expecting much better than this.

Lowest rating. Reception staff totally disinterested and spent most of their time talking to each other and receiving their lunch deliveries. Despite being the only person there and sitting in the waiting area for 3 hours, not one person on the entire staff acknowledged me in any way, offered any assistance, or relayed any explanation or information for the lengthy delay in my partner's surgery, a delay which also included a power failure which delayed surgery further. Surely someone could have advised what was going on. Professional courtesy totally lacking. Management take note.

My husband Richard has attended the hospital several times and underwent surgery this week by Dr Abdulla and his excellent nurse Barry. I was so very impressed. They were compassionate, informative, and so very professional. Real experts in their field. I cannot thank them all enough including the wonderful reception staff . I highly recommend them. I felt totally relaxed in their capable hands and can’t thank them enough

Not the easiest thing I’ve had done, but the staff, especially the nurse involved were wonderful. I was dropped of (parking is not to good there) and would not drive for the next few day. I felt the focus was on the patient which impressed me and while I’ve been going to Dr Artemi for some time this was the first skin surgery I’ve had. He was excellent and it was over within an hour. Would definitely recommend the hospital and staff.

Everything was well explained and the nurses were a lot of fun and helpfull. All staff were competent and considerate of me and each other. It was good to have a caring post op phone call. Pain has subsided and wounds seem fine. Surgeon was highly recommended and I appreciate his expertise.

The staff at the Westmead Skin Hospital are the most friendly and caring I have met. From the moment we arrived, from the friendly car park attendant to the reception staff and the nurses we were made to feel welcome and reassured. Particularly the nursing staff, I cannot thank you enough. Dr Bonilla and Dr Maryam were wonderful and I thank them.

I asked them for medical clearance certificate calling them everyday for past 2 weeks and still there is no response for them. Plus, the treatment I did for my warts there was not effective at all only expensive.

Was told to take this medicine for over a year. Knowing the symptoms I still took it so the doctor could do the procedure after. Once vaccine mandates happened the receptionist told me after the NSW health orders will allow unvaccinated people which was after December 15 then you can book an appointment, so I booked my appointment. Little did I know one month before my appointment the receptionist called me to tell me I need to be vaccinated or no procedure. I was tricked for 4 months thinking I have to wait till NSW mandates. This isn't a NSW mandates this is literally their own mandates and it's proven that even vaccinated people can transfer it as much as unvaccinated people. Liars and discriminating. I don't recommend the skin hospital.

My name is Leanne Burland and I attended The Skin Hospital, recently for surgery. My husband and I, found the reception staff, to be welcoming, courteous and efficient. The Nurses were professional, friendly, genuine and caring, which was extremely comforting, when I was feeling anxious, regarding surgery. Their pre and post surgery care, was exceptional. My Surgeon, Dr Robert Paver, came highly recommended, a brilliant surgeon and a lovely man. Very thankful to everyone!

Highly recommend! I was referred to Dr Deshan Sebaratnam after suffering from severe acne for two years and cannot be happier: his explanations were detailed but still delivered in a way that I was able to understand. After a thorough consultation, I was prescribed on the appropriate medication medication and my acne has practically disappeared!!

The nurses were very professional, friendly and caring. My surgeon Haady Fallah, as per usual, was very professional. A big thank you to all.

On Thursday I visited the Skin Hospital for the first time to see Dr Ebrahim regarding my eczema. He was lovely and very informative, my skin has cleared up so much already and it’s only been 2 days. Prior to my visit I spoke to Jamie from the Skin Hospital on the phone as my regular GP requested a contact number for Dr Ebrahim, Jamie was extremely rude and refused to give any number and said “no they don’t need it” but my doctor continued to tell me that she does need it to send through the referral, but I didn’t want to put any “stress” on Jamie so we just used the general number. During my visit I was also served by Jamie (Receptionist) who made me and my partner feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. As a previous receptionist myself I am absolutely appalled with the way I was treated by Jamie. Customer service is such an important part of the company and for Jamie being the first point of contact at times I am concerned. Besides that everyone was lovely and I had no issue with anything else. Will be back in a month for my next appointment. Would have given a higher rating if the customer service was better, Sorry.

The staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. I Went to see Dr Bruno Blaya and he is one of the best doctor's that I have ever come across. I had a 15 mins slot but he took his time too listen to me and explained everything to be without rushing. We went a little over 15 minutes and he did not charge me for the extra time. Very professional and knowledgeable.

Extremely professional and friendly staff. Surgical wounds barely noticeable, wound care well explained and follow up telephone check was prompt and appreciated. High degree of surgical skill used. A breakdown of the fees charged probably should have been provided, even though it was handled by private insurance. Overall, very pleased and relieved at the level of care provided.

Dr Margit Polcz is an angel!! She was so friendly, understanding and took her time with us. After her recommendations and thorough advice, my son's eczema is practically gone! The reception could be a bit more organised though. When you enter, no one greets you and they're all faced down looking away so you don't know who to go to!

My experience with day surgery at the Skin Hospital was a very positive one. I caught rhe lift to level one and walked to the counter where the three receptionists were chatting away, I was ignored and I just stood there waiting to be acknowledged for about 10 minutes before one of them asked me if I was being served. Taking everyone into consideration, I felt in good hands with Dr. Paver and the two nurses. The wound care wad explained to me and was good that they even gave it to me in writing. And the next day I received a follow up call. After the surgery I was very pleased with the level of care they provided for me.

I was once a client at Westmead, and while the doctors demonstrated considerable expertise in their field, I didn't feel adequately cared for as an individual. Specifically, during my initial microneedling session, I sensed a hurried approach from the doctor (whom I prefer not to name). Unfortunately, the results were minimal, and there was no follow-up after the session. This lack of personalised attention left me hesitant to schedule another appointment, as my overall experience made me feel neglected as a client. Despite the commendable expertise of the Skin Hospital, my rating reflects the personal feelings and experiences I encountered during my visits.

Went for a period of two years for severe ezema and resulting skin infections. Dr Abdulla was always very thorough even when rare times he couldn't see me himself. As I got better they didn't book unnecessary appointments either but increasingly spaced check ups which really helped my wallet.

Waste of time! Took time off work and spent money on an appointment that went for 10 mins where the doctor didn’t take me seriously and said “we have more severe cases than yours, just take antihistamines.” Became dependant on meds that made me worse when I tried to come off them!! Ended up doing my own research and booked myself for an allergy test elsewhere and have finally got a diagnosis.

I recall I saw Dr Simon Lee and my skin condition kept worsening and he was not providing me with the correct treatment. I had no choice but to see another dermatologist here. While she gave me the treatment I needed, her bedside manners were terrible. Overall, I had a bad experience with two doctors at this clinic. Not recommended.

I don’t understand the negative reviews for this place especially about the reception staff, they are sooo nice and patient and explain things really well. Dear centre manager I am writing to express my concerns about a recent communication with one of your reception staff. They appeared to lack effective communication and customer service skills. Reception is the first point of contact with your service and when one’s experience is extremely unsatisfying it leaves a very poor impression on your business. Your frontline team may benefit from some training in effective and respectful communication and 101 customer service skills. Regards

  • 1/5 Keyur P. 4 years ago on Google
Staff is really unsure about the appointment. When we allocated a time already, despite being there on time, we waited another 1.5hrs for no reason. The most annoying thing is, despite a conformation of appointment time a day before, the staff deny the confirmation of time. Poor management, aboslutely unacceptable.

  • 1/5 Helena a. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely appalling receptionist! I have never felt so attacked calling in for an appointment! I had not reached an appointment last year due to personal reasons and the woman completely blasted me. I wish there was a no star option.

Rude, uncaring dermatologist who refused to listen to concerns and basically said "wash your face" despite having cystic acne all over face and neck. Saw a dermatologist in Liverpool and got prescribed accutane, less than a year later and completely clear skinned! Don't waste your morning

  • 5/5 Andrew Darren R. 5 years ago on Google
The team at The Skin Hospital are very courteous, helpful and respectful. The reminder text messages are particularly useful. Dr Deshan Sebaratnam is an excellent physician - he is able to explain complex illnesses in simple terms, provide targeted treatment / management techniques and collaboratively evaluates all options available to the patient before providing his recommendation. He is also proactive in following up and checking in on his patients - a quality not commonly found in the profession.

  • 5/5 Akalya M. 5 years ago on Google
Dr Sebaratnam has been an excellent dermatologist to my father. Incredibly patient despite his scheduling, taking time to update me (patient’s daughter and off site) to ensure that communication is upheld. His treatment for the condition has been excellent and his bedside manner even better. Cannot recommend Dr Sebaratnam enough!

  • 1/5 Ruba Q. 5 years ago on Google
Complaining to the doctor about the long waiting outside,to be told that she has double and triple appointments just to be able to fit 30 to 40 patients a day.I think it is disrespectful for the patients to be treated as numbers only .

  • 5/5 Julian F. 5 years ago on Google
Dr Deshan Sebaratnam is very nice and seems to be an absolute expert at his profession. As far as the reception staff goes - they have never failed to be nice and helpful. I've been to the Skin Hospital in Westmead multiple times now and my experience has always been great!

  • 1/5 Leanne H. 4 years ago on Google
Firstly, let me say the nurses and reception staff here are wonderful and accommodating. HOWEVER.. each time I went there, I waited over half an hour for my appointment, 50 mins today. Paid $250 for first consultation with a follow up visit, which I presumed was included as noone told me otherwise. Then in my follow up, the doc just told me that my cultures weren’t ready and I should keep using the cream he already prescribed. Then charged me $150 for the privilege! ?? Overpriced and underwhelming experience with Dr Abdulla.

  • 1/5 anna S. 5 years ago on Google
The reception woman with Vietnamese accent is very rude, impolite and with arrogance attitude. Seems like owing her money. She’s not good at telephone communication skill. She would be very frustrated if she doesn’t understand something. She blamed me beocasue I m talking too fast. She got the disgusting attitude toward me when I am asking question in the clinic. Seriously, if you don’t like your job then just change it. No patients deserve your bad attitude when coming to see doctor especially they are already sick. Otherwise, the doctor and other receptionist are nice. That Vietnamese background receptionist just ridiculous. Don’t want to deal with her anymore.

I took time out of my life to come for an interview for a volunteer position at the skin hospital -- yet a few weeks later they email saying the positions have been taken, HOWEVER a months later I see exactly, i mean EXACTLY (down to the small details) the same volunteer post. I feel they were very discriminating towards me and did not choose me because of prejudice. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VOLUNTEERING FOR THEM.

From the moment I was received at the front desk my experience was excellent. Dr Simon Lee was warm and friendly and super clear in his explanation of the procedure.
