I was excited to head here on a Tuesday night, but the dining experience couldn’t have been more disappointing. Most of the tables were covered in dirty dishes (one pictured stayed dirty behind us during our whole dining experience), and the bar was all out of German beer (and my second choice ginger beer). Ordered a 1kg plate of wings, and the dish was small (sure we were overcharged!) I’ve loved the Bavarian before, so disappointed this is the experience at Chatswood. Not keen to come again :(

Used to be good, but something has changed. The food is very average. The pork knuckle and schnitzel were dry. The strudel, while not terribly bad, is not "classic". Feels more like something coming out of a corporate canteen. Not authentic German.

Having ordered delivery, I have to note the quality was way substandard to expectations. The knuckle was not crispy at all and it looked like it had been sitting under a hot lamp for hours. The rest of the food was cold on delivery. The worst was that not only did they hike the price of the greens from $10 to $12 because it was online, but they served the most pathetic amount of food imaginable. Who would be happy to pay $12 for this amount of veggies? All this because it's via a food delivery app and they know I can't complain to them. They will never see my custom again. PS: And the $12 potato and cucumber salad literally had a single piece of cucumber. Just demonstrating that this isn't sour grapes but a legitimate complaint.

Went here for the $9.95 schnitzel promotion. Needed to buy a beer too - in total, my sub $10 schnitzel ended up costing $28 with beer and gravy. Not just that but it wasn’t even Weiner schnitzel, just being a simple chicken schnitzel rather than pork or veal. Been a couple of years since I visited a Bavarian but distinctly less German than before. About a third of the beers on tap were German and the food much more standard pub fare. No German staff any more either. Pretty disappointed in the poor value and loss of identity, I could have gotten a chicken schnitzel and beer at any of the local pubs for a sizeable fraction less. My recommendation would be to go to a serious German venue if you want that or a standard pub if you just need schnitty and chips.

Utterly Disappointed, the schewineschnitzel, used to be my go to, the last time I came here (October 2021) and today it was a manufactured meat mess (or if it wasn't then it felt like it was) ... I gave it a second chance because of previous good experiences, but it's now off the list...

The pork belly is amazing! So much food for two people to share, we often have some to take home and eat for breakfast.

Would rate it 4.5 if I had the choice. Ordered pork knuckles + pretzel and pork belly with butter toffee schnapps. The pretzel was too salty. But the rest were beautifully made and the schnapps were to die for.

A great European food-island-menu in large Asian-sea-yummy infinity optional menu variation! Enjoyable and highly recommended for in a large group of people! Good value for money! Friendly staff! Thank you, Pelipe. You, and your colleagues made our day! Definitely and certainly we will be back!

Tasty food and beer served by friendly stuff. The children like the kids menu and if they are lucky then there are pencils for drawing. The Schnitzel are large enough if you are hungry and there are variations like the Jägerschnitzel, though sometimes it could have a bit more sauce. And they have banana-weizen as lady's beer.

The food was amazing. Delicious chicken parmi with perfectly cooked chips as a side. The table service though was lacking, we sat waiting for service for over 15 minutes despite being seated by a waiter, we had to goto the bar to order food. The atmosphere was almost dead, however this was mid week at lunch. It was quiet though and easy to have a conversation

Awesome beer and food. The only serious criticism I have is that on several occasions where I visited, most of the beers are not in stock and I’ve had to ask which beers I can order. I’d go there several times a week if they stocked all of their menu. Great place to have a decent meal before going out for a few drinks. Staff are friendly and attentive.

We visited the Bavarian for a casual Sat evening of cocktails and wings. The venue was quite relaxed with nice seats and good music. The cocktails were good and the wings quite yummy. The staff was quite friendly and accomodating with our preferences. Evening well enjoyed ...well done team@ The Bavarian Chatswood!

Outstanding!! I went there for my birthday dinner and the atmosphere was incredible. Tasty food without much of a wait despite ordering the Pork Knuckle. The staff were very friendly, they even looked after my cake and brought it out singing happy birthday for free!! To top it off, I even received a free shot of Schnapps!! It truly was an above-and-beyond experience! To all the staff who worked there on Sunday night September 17, you’re all the best! Vielen Dank!!

The shop is close to railway station in Chatswood. I love the chicken wings on this shop. The fried chicken tenders are abit over cooked but with the deeping sauce provided it tasted good served with fries.

I held a surprise birthday party here for a big group of friends and we all had a great night. Food was good and the ability to order on app is great when you have a big group with different tastes. The stand out for me was the friendly and fantastic service from the staff. A BIG THANK YOU goes to Anish who went above and beyond from allowing me to drop off the cake and balloons early, bringing out a fan when it got warm and overall positive can-do attitude! Had an awesome night and look forward to coming back again.

Great atmosphere outdoor seating is nicely decorated. With Covid, you have to scan a QR code at the table and order food that way. Hence my 3 star review, as the $59 platter wasn't available there. However, foods amazing: we had the $78 platter which came with pretzels, the platter and apple strudel dessert. German beers are good to wash down the yummy food, and service is friendly. Will be back again.

Nice outdoor area with table tennis table, jukebox and heaters. Food was ok, the platter was huge. Chicken schnitzel was a bit dry but large serving. They only had like 2 or 3 beers available. We went at lunch. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly, so thanks!

Good food serves for the special tasting menu for 2. Really good service from the manager who kept checking in on where the food was, how it was etc.

Happy hour $5 for a 500 ml beer is good with limited choices, still good for the summer. I found they deliberately slow down the service during happy hour - limited servers to serve beer, only the main bar is opened, the line built up and waited 15 mins for my turn. That's after 7 pm, happy hour just finished.

Lesa is amazing! She takes great care of everyone and is always a joy to be around. Her kind and friendly service always welcomes me back here :)

The Atmosphere was the definite winner. Great food and service, a little on the expensive but so worth it.

Slowest service in Sydney.

Waited in the queue at the bar for more than 10 minutes and still was nowhere near being served. This was 7pm on a Tuesday - not exactly peak time. Decided I could walk home and get a beer quicker.

An easy bar with good German beer; and most certainly a place to go to if you like the weight of a 1 litre stein! The crispy pork belly is simply flavourful and so well done. The boneless chicken wings not that great. The service is friendly and prompt

A gorgeous restaurant with a great ambiance and an even better staff. Our food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are large and definitely worth the cost. Overall a fantastic experience. We can't wait to visit again!

We enjoyed the whole size pork knuckle. It was enough for 2 people. The skin was crispy and meat was tender and juicy. Pretty good! 👍

The very classic Bavarian food restaurant, especially the atmosphere. It's rare to see German beer house in Sydney. This restaurant might not be the best one, but it has most of the characters and tastes very similar to the real Bavarian food.

Personally i think the food is alright. But then again im not a fan of german food. So if you like german food then by all means! You might enjoy it here! The beers are great though! And also location is pretty accessible and easy to find in chatswood.

Wonderful experience and fantastic food. Staff was friendly and took care of my special dietary requirements. The manager (Mahima) was cherry on top!! She asked us for feedback and made us comfortable the second we arrived at the restaurant. Excellent service outlet. Well done!!

We had such an amazing time at the restaurant today! It was a double celebration for us to celebrate both Mother’s Day and our 18th anniversary and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was just spectacular and service was even better! Well done to the team of Bavarian Chatswood especially the manager! Would definitely be going back soon!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been too. Great value, bought basically 4 meals for the price of one and they were all delicious. I think about Bavarian pretzels and spirits everyday and I can't wait to go back there. Love it

Not a big fan. They charge you a service fee but can't explain what it is. Got told it's because of Covid and prices went up. If that's the case display a price increase on your menu. I am sure ACCC will have a great time with this.

We had a group of 10 for Saturday night. Food was great, but the service was even better! Really appreciated that we could order and pay individually- but the meals all came at the same time. I will be back- particularly when I need to organise groups A great central locations about 100 metres from train station. I had the pork belly, and the ribs & tasting plates looked great. Go there when you have an appetite. I feel that we got value for money

Used to come here a lot but for the price go elsewhere. Schbitzels were dry, portion sizes for the price average. Bar staff busy and you often have to wait. Better schnittys at the pub across the road for $12!

Way under staff on a Sunday and had a surcharge. Not that it was busy. Other than that it was ok.

I have the best experiences at this place! They have great food and excellent staff who create a fun and exciting atmosphere that always brings me back. Lesa always serves us with great energy and enthusiasm and has without fail provided really good recommendations that have me trying something new every time. Look out for the weekly deals too!

The food is good and a lot filling. If anything I’d like to get a 1/2 sized meal. Plenty of beer to choose from. At this one the service was wonderful, quick and always available. The sausages platter is great, the pork knuckles huge. No idea if there are vegetarian options. Toilet are outside of the restaurant ( close , still on the concourse) with the PIN number on the lock

Ordered the schnitzel meister on a Saturday but they were out of veal schnitzel so they gave us 4 chicken schnitties instead. Good quality beer but they need to up their game with the sides. I liked how they offered me a sample of the beer before choosing. We had to change the sides a few times because they were also out of green beans. Seems like the staff were struggling with large orders for Saturday lunch.

Great place for a feed and a drink. Plenty of space inside or outside in a cool tented area. The food is really tasty, great schnitzels and sausages, mashed potatoes were a little dry though. Service is fast and some cool people work there, really friendly. Also, theu had some nice live music for a wednesday night. Pictured is the schnitzelmister challenge. I took this on and finished it in 17mins. It is a lot of food, not for someone who hasnt prepared. Taste is awesome and makes the eating easy and enjoyable.

The Bavarian is located in the Chatswood Central Precinct, at Railway Street. I've been here quite a number of times and I quite enjoyed it. The atmosphere is good and the food is great, topped off with a selection of German beers. The prices are OK with a kid's menu also available.

Went for the first time last weekend and I loved it! Although read really bad reviews about the staff, my waiter was very efficient and friendly his name is Hugo, I think. The happy hour beer and wine was great and the food very tasty with nice atmosphere. I just think would be nicer a few more decor lights outside because gets very dark.

Pricey but tasty! Atmosphere was lovely, you can choose your own music which is fun (especially for the children). Staff were very friendly.

Pretty pricey for what you get. Food is tasty but not amazing. Service was slow, it took over half an hour for our drinks to arrive, and with some chasing. They have steins if that is your thing.

I had my Munich platter delightfully partnered with a beer tube of Lowie both suggested to me by the lovely, and enigmatic bubbly manager Lesa whose customer service was simply amazing and fantastic I will be coming back for more most definitely as a repeat customer.

I love spanish, so going here with my family including my wife and son. and the staff are quite friendly.

Great Bar for After Work Drinks & a Big Feed! Big Stein glasses, generous meals and friendly staff. Convenient location near Chatswood Train Station makes it a great spot to catch up with friends or unwind after work.

Only good meal is the platter, wouldn't other for much else.

Totally understaffed, $26 for a sausage with a mini sized portion of potato salad and Sauerkraut, certainly not a german size. Staff tried hard to satisfy customers.
