I hate giving negative reviews but I have to address this! This sports club is more concerned with gambling then being more family friendly, way to go in downsizing the kids play area, bloody more concerned about the Chinese games section they play which has 10x more space. Also, I do not understand why there is so much seating available place is dead as! Seriously poor effort from management, do not recommend this place until you fix this small problem

The club has a lost it’s identity. Doesn’t know what it wants to be, obviously upper management have no direction or just does not care about developing a good business. Photos taken at 7:15pm on a Saturday night. No action at all, very uninviting. The club feels dead, does not make me feel that I should be spending any money here at all. Food isn’t that much to brag about either. Owners change every few months. Management should look at clubs such as Castle Hill RSL, Pennant Hills Bowling club, The Fiddler etc for a lively experience.

A smaller club with nice eatery and gaming. Also sports screens. Dining is actually quite good.

Was once the best club in the area by a long way to have a drink in. In recent years it's become a mini-casino. The food is disgraceful. The last four meals I've had here over an 18 month period have been very very average. The Members "discount" for beers has dropped from 10% to 5%. There is no sense of a "homely" feeling anymore. Castle Hill RSL or Hotel Pennant Hills are much more inviting.

Pricing Disappointment on Mother's Day $65 PP I recently visited the West Pennant Hills Sports Club on Mother's Day and had an average experience. While the ambiance and service were satisfactory, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the pricing. Firstly, the prices for a single main course and an entree totaling $65 seemed quite exorbitant, especially considering that no drinks were included. I expected a more reasonable pricing structure, as it didn't align with the value I received for the meal. It would have been better if the pricing was more transparent and in line with the quality of the food. On a positive note, the service was adequate, with the staff being polite and attentive. The ambiance of the club was pleasant, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. However, it's essential to consider the pricing aspect when evaluating the overall experience. Despite the disappointment regarding the pricing, I must acknowledge the effort put into making Mother's Day special. The club had a nice setup and offered some enjoyable activities for families. The staff also seemed well-prepared to handle the increased number of patrons on this busy day. In conclusion, while I appreciated the efforts made by West Pennant Hills Sports Club to create a pleasant atmosphere and celebrate Mother's Day, the pricing for a single main course and entree without drinks included was unreasonably high. I hope the management considers reevaluating their pricing strategy to provide better value for money to their customers.

I went to Sawyers tonight with my mother, As soon as we arrived the attentive staff welcomed us, saw us to a table for two and brought us water and menus. All the staff were dressed perfectly and well groomed with the kitchen looking extremely clean. Our meals were served quickly and the portion sizes were huge. The quality of the food was brilliant and we attended to during our meals. All the staff here would be an asset to any other company! Finding good service and building up a team which is on point like this is a rare thing in todays service industry! all the staff and whomever is behind this operation should be commended.

We visit the club for a meal at least once a week, great food and service. We had dinner there on Saturday 26 August my husband accidently dropped one of his meat skewers on the floor. He asked the waitress if he could have another one... she came back within 2 minutes to say the chef would replace it for him. They came back with 2 skewers. Great customer service thanks chef and staff.

Update September 2021: we have been doing click and collect and I have to say, the food has been great! I would even say better than we have ever had when dining in! Most food was as described, well-presented, very tasty and enough. Well done all at the club! You've done yourself proud during this lengthy lockdown! 💐 Shared a family meal here recently. The check in process was polished, on point and very friendly, including following covid rules. Our children went into the appropriate older age group room but were out very quickly as there was almost nothing for them to do. Our waitress was lovely as were the other staff we met. The food was so-so. The steak was not the quality expected, or such as we have had previously (pre-covid). I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes! A bit of attention to detail in the Bistro could make a difference. We will try again.

I recently attended the new restaurant Sawyers and was absolutely blown away! Fantastic service, the young gentleman who took my order was friendly and made great recommendations. The food .. DELICIOUS! It was fresh, tasty and made from quality produce. It made me want to go back for more! Thanks for a great evening Sawyers, so glad we have a great restaurant back at the sporties!!!

Times have changed with the new caterers, the menu is fresh and they have a new wine list which features some non alcoholic and new style of wine varieties. Noticed last night that the childrens' play area has also reopened, whilst smaller still being enjoyed by children.

This is my favourite place. The food is always fantastic and I am always happy with my meals. Staff is also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in.

This has been my local club for many years and this is the best it's ever been. The new bistro Sawyers is fantastic and amazing service. Delish parmi for the Thursday night special. I sadly live in the UK so will be back in a few years but can't wait for next time!

Sawyers is better than the previous restaurant was and the service is quite good. The worst issue for me is that if you are there between 3 and 5 in the afternoon you can't get a coffee. Not everyone wants alcohol or soft drinks. I won't renew membership unless this situation changes as other local clubs are better. UPDATE This club now has a very good menu in the restaurant. My Caesar salad was excellent. They also have a small coffee counter which is very welcome. Now what they need to do is to redesign the seating area because 1) not everyone can sit comfortably on the tall stools at some of the tables and 2) the other tables are in sets of three with six chairs — great for groups but two people usually don’t want to share with 2-4 strangers and often these tables for 6 end up with just 1 or 2 sitting there. Please find a way to separate them.

Thank you to all the staff at WPH Sports Club for being pleasant, friendly and helpful. We celebrated a birthday and the staff made sure we could store the cake and prepare it after our meal. They made sure we had plates and cutlery and all this was done at no extra charge. Well done to all the team on your customer service!

I am hoping that the staff can improve their service. We ordered food and were asked where we are seated. we pointed out the seats the staff member couldn’t understand where we were seated. We then had to walk to our seat and point directly at the table we were annoyed at this only to find this staff member staring at us grinning smirking as if it was very funny when they should have seen that we had just become annoyed. This is why it took much longer to order. There were also no numbers at the tables The young people working at this place really need to do a better job. We weren’t even greeted at the entrance to be shown what table we could sit at. I noticed the line was getting longer. The good part about ordering food was that I felt that I was able to talk to the person making my meal. Being that he had more experience with people. I consider the experience that I had that night as not a valued customer.

Great service and staff. But the food was not good. Chicken burger was not cooked very well. Chips was under Cooked. The fish dish wasn't cooked and was dry. Garlic bread was burnt. I don't know if they have a new chef , but the food wasn't great. A bit disappointed as the meals was over price for what we got.

It’s a shame the club decided to ‘upgrade’ the restaurant to Sawyers. The previous bistro was fantastic! We have tried and given the new owners a fair go multiple times but they are STILL well below par. Prices have increased while the portion sizes, care, taste, friendliness are lacking…. We’ve now moved on to other local pubs/clubs. WPH sports club needs to do some local research at other venues to improve or they’ll lose more patrons

Sawyers the new restaurant comes along, with the sports club it is just year by year that you hope they can find a decent caterer to serve some nice meals. So with Sawyers we try again, lady who brings the food basically throws it at you, one of the orders for us was the pumpkin salad on the specials board, could it have been worse I am not sure, few pieces of boiled pumpkin thrown on out of date spinach leaves, we will wait again for another new caterer with hope in the future, the sports club is the little brother you hope one day will succeed

I booked a room for an 80 bowlers Christmas Party Dec 2022. The venue was perfect, the Club decorated the tables beautifully and adjusted our 2 course meal servings to fit in with our programme. Our caterers have changed over the years and we now have Sawyers Catering which served up the best 2 course dinner we have ever had for our Christmas Parties. We had a great night. Max Walters

The food here is really good, the staff are super friendly and its a bargain.. it could do with a makeover, the play area has been closed due to the floods but honestly if you are looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, this place is great.

Melbourne Cup was well organised. Club looked lovely. We knew it was a 2 course meal. But missed desert. I thought coffee and tea should have been included. Especially after alcohol and then to drive. And as it was mostly oldies. Shouldnt have to buy coffee after spending $70 on a ticket

Management need to taste test the food on the menu as its not up to standard in my opinion.

Food was pretty good and service was quick. The portion sizes for how much you pay is definitely on the smaller side.

Went here on Friday evening to watch the footy and have dinner with my partner and can't fault the customer service unfortunately the pizza we had gave us food posioning. What ever you do go else where for food. The rating is based on the food.

Penny's Bistro. Very poor value for money. Food portions very small. My barramundi dinner would not have satisfied a 10 year old let alone an adult male. Will not be returning.

Great food. However it lacks play equipment for young children. The lawn bowls are great and they keep excellent care of the ground. All the cricket and soccer clubs in the area are from here too
