I
was
on
a
week
long
business
trip
to
Tokyo,
Looking
for
Greek
or
Mediterranean
food
in
Tokyo
was
a
long
shot!
To
my
surprise
I
found
MezeLuna,
and
what
a
pleasant
surprise
that
was!
I
tried
the
hummus
and
Pita,
it
was
rich
with
flavors
of
home
roasted
red
pepper
and
smooth
hummus,
then
a
plate
of
roasted
fresh
vegetables
topped
with
this
creamy
almond,
tahini
and
garlic
mix,
never
tasted
this
much
goodness
in
one
plate
before!
The
presentation
with
the
fresh
pita
with
a
hint
of
Italian
herbs
was
almost
like
a
reminder
of
the
old
times
in
downtown
Ammans
most
popular
restaurants.
The
entree
was
Harissa
grilled
chicken,
it
was
unbelievable!
Cooked
to
perfection,
crunchy
brown
skin
and
moist
from
the
inside,
the
flavor
was
new
to
me,
I
was
told
it
was
Tunisian,
it
was
one
of
the
new
finds
for
me
that
I
had
to
go
back
home
in
the
US
and
research
and
add
to
my
Spice
mix
home
collection.
The
harissa
chicken
over
rice
was
a
great
meal
with
everything
I
needed
in
a
chicken-and
rice
plate.
The
dessert,
which
was
home
made
Kenafa,
was
very
nice
and
almost
too
healthy
to
be
called
Dessert.
The
cottage
cheese
between
two
layers
of
couscous
baked
to
perfection
and
topped
with
pistachios
and
sweet
home
made
syrup
was
perfect.
Finally
the
service
from
owners
chef
Mark
and
baker
Rie
was
personal,
intimate
and
home
like
all
at
the
same
time.
The
husband
and
wife
are
US
educated
and
trained.
This
beautiful
couple
were
perfect
hosts,
pleasantly
answering
questions
and
providing
recommendations,
then
politely
giving
me
the
space
to
enjoy
and
soak
in
the
Mediterranean
flavors
with
a
global
fusion
in
a
small
intimate
and
clean
place.
Thank
you
Chef
Mark
and
my
favorite
hostess
and
baker
Rie.
I
cant
wait
to
go
back
to
Japan!
