Cool little spot. Looks sketchy from the outside but that's the majority of Tacoma for ya. This place really delivered on delicious food and stellar service. Huge portions too and a really cool atmosphere that you wouldn't expect when you first roll up to the place. It's one of the better thai places I've been to in the area and it deserves a better location. But I'm not trying to knock the restaurant. The thai tea is one of my favorite things ever. I was surprised it wasn't packed but it deserves to be. Come try it out and spread the love for this little gem !

Such a find! Looks non-descript from outside but inside it’s super cute. Especially recommend the fresh rolls. No glass noodle filler, just yummy veggies and protein! Big portion sizes too on everything I got. 😋

A hidden gem! Nice restaurant in a not-as-nice neighborhood. Service was very friendly and attentive. They really cares what customers like and feel. Dining room is tastefully decorated, yet a bit dark to my like. There’re a couple special tables showing cultural emphasis. Food was surprisingly well made with interesting presentation. It’s well worth the price.

Came here for lunch during our short road trip. Very authentic/delicious Thai food! Spice level and the portion size was just perfect. Great customer service and would love to come again. Would recommend this to anyone! Enjoyed our red curry & garlic chicken lunch specials 😊

Ran by a husband & wife, along with an outstanding team, all of whom are clearly passionate about sharing their love and knowledge of Thai food. Every single dish we’ve tried each time we’ve been here has been a “ball outta the park” home run! The flavors are deep; complex; nuanced; and the portions are generous.

Beautiful place, with authenticity in the food & spice level like Thailand where we visit often, and CRAZY GENEROUS portions. 1 star minus for: A) very slow service (they’re short of staff, but their high school staff are trying their best & very polite and accommodating; one slightly aggressive customer refused to scan the QR menu and insisted on a physical menu & the tall high sch female went right ahead to find one for him. B) meats are kinda tough/over cooked, but flavour is def there. So overall, def a place I’ll return to! Randomly spoke to a staff who turn out to be the the Boss, and he told us his wife who’s cooking is from Thailand. That explains a lot about the flavours. Super great folks, will be back if we visit this state again.

Don't judge a book by its cover. What appears to be an unassuming entrance, turns into a welcoming and enjoyable experience at Loak Toung Thai. I've had Thai food before but this authentic and passionately made Thai food is the best. Make sure you try the green sauce that comes from the owners Village in Thailand. It's a small staff led by a family team that Prides itself in creating delicious and generous Thai choices. The appetizers are large and can be enjoyed by four people. Authentic quality food takes a little longer to make so don't expect a fast food experience, thankfully! The prices are exceptionally reasonable and I'm certain they will be back to try other items on the menu.

We went here on a whim, because they were the closest Thai restaurant open on New Years Day…… and what a stoke of luck it turned out to be! The ambiance is very nice, relaxed and comfortable, and the service was very pleasant, attentive and quick. We had green curry, panang curry, pad thai and tom kha, and it was all honestly so amazing. I eat a lot of thai food and this was among the very best I’ve ever had. All of it! Fresh and tasty, balanced and spicy if desired, really good! We will be back, soon!

The best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in the whole state!! Owners/workers are so nice. Makes you smile every time you come in. Would go here every day if I lived closer to it :)

Authentic Thai food. First time in years I have had this yummy of restaurant Thai. A major positive find and really close to UPS. Caution... with authentic comes the heat. I like it but for those that aren't ready start low, even a zero. And work your way up. A 5 you better be born and raised in this level of heat. Super service. Very very reasonably priced! Lots of food per item. This place, one of the rare finds, gets an equally rate 5 stars.

The waiter was so friendly, food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great! Love the dark lighting and big portions 😍 we will be back for sure (I had the garlic chicken and it was amazing)

I have tried Thai cuisine in many places even in Bangkok and so on. However, this place is the one of best Thai restaurants I have experienced. I can strongly recommend this place.

We had a delightful lunch here and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the Phad Kee Mao, Vegetables with Beef and Fish Cakes and the portions were very generous! Enough for another meal. The restaurant was decorated so nicely in the Thai theme and the restaurant owners are nice and friendly. Thanks for a great experience!

Hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Great prices and the portion sizes are massive! I ordered the basil chicken lunch special and got three meals out of it. Staff were incredibly friendly. I have sensory issues with light and so the low light atmosphere was relaxing and truly allowed for a distraction free experience. Additionally, the iced tea was delectable. Liquid dessert. If you’re deciding on a Thai place to eat, just go here. Your search is over. You will not regret it.

Shared three dishes here - the Tom Yum soup (shrimp), Phad Kee Mao (beef), and Phad Thai (chicken). The Tom Yum was absolutely delicious and the flavors were bursting left and right. It was just a TAD salty for my liking. Other than that, wonderfully made. The kee mao (comparatively to the other two dishes), lacked the high flavor profile. It wasn’t as “vibrant” I suppose. However, still yummy and the beef was tender. The Phad Tai was just as flavorful as the soup. The chicken was tender and fresh tasting. Extremely delicious and everything you want a Phad Thai to be. The portions were amazing. The owner and staff lovely to talk with. The atmosphere dark with twinkle lights and lots of textures and colors. I will be going back!!

I’ve tried so many Thai restaurants around tacoma but this is by far my favorite! Portions are big (I ate till I was full then had a full meal to still take home). Food was SO tasty + authentic. I asked for chili oil on the side and the waiter came out with two different sauces that he recommended. Both were so good. Had a Thai iced tea as well that was great! Service was fast and friendly. They do have limited hours and close mid day but it’s worth checking out when you have time! We will definitely be back.

Wow, every dish we ordered was fantastic! Some of the best Thai we’ve ever eaten. This was our first time eating here and we would definitely go back. The owner was very kind and quick to help us- this was a win all around!
