My favorite coffee in town. I drink a lot of coffee from various places and I'm not a coffee expert, but I do have one made up way to describe the experience. Some high end coffees have a lighter, gentle sort of experience, maybe closer to tea. Valhalla coffee gives a bold, richer experience, more like chocolate than tea.

If I could give this place 10+ stars I would. Coffee is always perfectly roasted. Customer service Is always on point. The wait can be a little long but the wait is so worth it because that first sip of coffee always feels like sweet honey. We drive every weekend 40min to get this coffee and I wouldn’t change it. If you love good roasted coffee, this is the place for you.

Best coffee in town. You can smell the beans roasting a mile away. Staff was busy but they served me well. It feels like the business was designed to get you in and get out, industrial set up. Chairs are not set up for you to hang out on. This is strictly a place to get great coffee.

The coffee is simply the best. There's no topping it. The seating isn't great. It gets really loud, very fast. Can be over stimulating.

I have come here a few times, and I am always happy with my drink. I like to come later in the day because it's less busy and you can really speak to the staff about what they recommend and why. They all know so much about coffee and are eager to share with their patrons. They also sell bags of beans - they have a small roaster at this location so everything is fresh!

This place is simply amazing!!! The coffee is great, the beans are roasted in-house and the service is great. On some days the wait can be long however it’s worth the wait to try some of Valhalla’s coffee ☕️

Good latte, nice tasting espresso and beautiful foam. I would ask for mine a little more sweet next time but that’s personal preference! They have a very simple menu with very limited flavors. Often times I like this because it usually leads to higher quality of the items they do have. I would however love some fun new latte flavors to try!

I get coffee here almost every day and I have for a few years now. It’s literally the best coffee I’ve ever had. I use their punch card religiously. I turned my dad onto this place even though he lives in Arizona. I send him their beans on his birthdays.

I generally rotate between Valhalla, Bluebeard, and Olympia for my beans and espresso, however I have to say Valhalla is the best. Better price point on beans and espresso. The only thing is that they don't have any food, even pastries. Service is great with knowledgeable and friendly staff and it smells so good on roast day. Their Ethiopian Harrar is my go-to for when I make pourover at home.

I love this coffee shop so much! I have purchased a hoodie from them and I'm always asked if I work there but I say "no, just a huge fan!" My mom was in town recently and I wanted her to have something that exceeded Starbucks quality. She said it was the best mocha she ever had! ❤️✨

Perfect cappuccino! Delicious coffee! Very busy and great vibe! Reasonable prices. Definitely recommend for a genuinely great quality coffee.

A perfect latte was served today! I tried Old School Espresso and then bought a half pound of that and the traditional to compare!! Old School is smooth and velvety! The cashier and barista were fantastic! I live down the street from the owner, but have never told him how much I enjoy his smooth roasted beans!!! Check this pic out!!!

Small espresso place. Nice charm. People are friendly and knowledgeable. Espressos are great. Awesome hot chocolate. Don't sit near the door on cold days.

Amazing coffee. Like really really good. Got an caramel oat iced latte. Service was slow for a busy Sunday morning, but so worth it. Definitely will be back when I’m in Tacoma again.

Amazing coffee. Do yourself a favor and come check it out - you won’t be disappointed.

Incredible espresso drinks, cream still rich at the end. Valhalla serves a bit darker roast (than greener/brighter), which I prefer. But the quality of beans and barista skill stand out over other good shops, making this excellent. Good vibe and cool red vinyl stools, fwiw.

I get to drink art in a cup. It's awesome. They also roast their own beans so the place just smells phenomenal right when you walk in.

The coffee was overall a dark roast, creamy, and delicious. I’ll give them that. Their establishment was dark, uninviting, and also a bit cramped for how busy they are. Their staff was busy behind the counter. They were managing a line of close to 15 people. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt - they were hustling to get their customers coffee out to them but that being said… there was no reason to treat my boyfriend and I rudely at the counter. Their poor customer service knocked them down to two stars. I would have waited patiently for my coffee (even though it took close to 15 minutes) if their service was kinder. I know they’ve got it in them - because I saw them small talking with a regular. It was all smiles and laughs. As a new customer, I just felt like a burden. Worth the try but i probably won’t return. Weird vibes for sure.

In all of my travels I have never found a better coffee. The cappuccino’s are amazing. We send many folks here regularly and they have all become avid fans too. Besides the best coffee, the baristas are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. When we travel now we try to find a comparable coffee. No luck so far.

Was recently gifted 2 bags of coffee from here and I am thoroughly impressed. As someone who drinks coffee every single day and a true fan of a quality roast I must say I am sold. Living in Rhode Island I am surrounded by great coffee everywhere but after trying the espresso and Harrar blends I will be now ordering these coffees to be shipped here as my everyday blend. It’s just that good. I would 100% recommend to anyone who looking for quality coffee made with care and love.

Had as appointment in Tacoma and figured I’d look for some coffee while I was down there. I found this little spot and it did not disappoint! It seemed like they had many regulars in there and I can see why. Good service, great coffee and I like that they had a good variety of sugar free flavors! Thanks!

Oh Valhalla, I love you. Right now, you've got to order from outside and there can be a bit of a wait, but it's SO worthwhile. The roast and the foam are just perfection.
