Handily winning the title of best espresso in Hilltop, manifesto’s vibe and coffee make it a must stop for those passing by. If you’re mega cool Katie may even chat you up. I would like to amend my previous review and add that the mochas here are dangerously good. 😤

Great coffee! Espresso flavor is to the perfect point. The store’s interior design has its industrial touch; the other half of the store keeps its garage layout. Located on street level. Easy parking.

Honestly, the vibe was pretty cold. The baristas were very odd when taking out order - it was very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. I can’t explain it other than just uncomfortable. They also seemed to grossly overcharge. $2.50 for a splash of oat milk? $15 for two macchiatos? That’s ridiculous. The coffee was good, but we won’t be returning due to the overpriced coffee and cold service.

The coffee was reasonably priced. The wifi was reliable enough to work on. There was a cozy spot I could work from with a nice view of the street and it was secluded from the other tables. The barista who helped me was really sweet.

This is a cute coffee shop that makes a fantastic cappuccino. Their baristas are incredible and their baked goods (very few options daily) are delicious. They have pre-made sandwiches and wraps (when I went, one was vegan!) available for purchase. There are a lot of tables to sit at, many of which are the perfect layout for laptop work. I will be returning!

Such a great simple spot for a coffee. They've got a small menu and offer only a few syrups, but it's all excellent and the baristas are always real nice.

The best espresso in the Tacoma area. Their single origin beans always filter into some of my favorite pour overs. Baristas are always down to earth and straight to the point with recommendations.

Such a great place in hilltop. Genuinely friendly baristas, good java, and a nice vibe to hang out or to study. This place has a much appreciated different vibe than your average "hip" coffee shop. They're well-behaved-and-leashed-dog-friendly as well, which is always a bonus. Thank you for adding some love to the hilltop area!

Pretty good coffee is brewed here. It has a real nice heavy roast flavor in my opinion, which I really enjoy. What brought me in was that I’ve had there coffee while eating breakfast at the Art House Cafe. I don’t drink lattes or put milk and sugar in my coffee, but If you like your coffee black, Manifesto is for you. FYI, you can either drink you coffee outside or indoors and they only have up to 12 ounces.

This is definitely in the conversation for my favorite place to get coffee. The atmosphere is ripe with character. The walls are painted black with exposed wood on the ceiling. It's spacious. There's great music on in the background. Most importantly, the coffee is great. I highly recommend this place if you want a great cup of coffee at a rad location in Tacoma.

Absolutely delicious hazelnut latte. Just the right amount of sweetness and the coffee taste came through perfectly and was so smooth. Super friendly staff that made us feel at home. Really nice big windows and beautiful place to stay awhile. Went on a weekend late morning and it wasn't very busy. A few tables to choose from.

Best espresso roasters so far in my life. I always visit and buy a bag of beans from the specialty roasters during my travel. Best of best, among those I found exceptional, Avole in Seattle WA, Dogwood in Minneapolis MN, Epoch in Austin TX, George Howell in Boston MA, Brash and East pole in Atlanta GA.

Couldn't say enough nice things about the staff. We have a 3 year old and he made a big mess with the muffin and they kept saying "don't worry about it, we can clean it up" - Thank you for understanding that toddlers can be messy because muffins are good!

The quality of the drip and chai latte were very high and the prices were the lowest I've seen in the area. The simple brick and wood decor with minimal trendy art gave it a nice vibe.

We ordered 2 brewed coffees and were told, they were out of coffee at 9 am. At a place that specializes in coffee, this makes no sense. Instead we were offered watered down Americanos. Would have been fine waiting for more coffee to be brewed, wasn’t given the option. The guy in front of us had an entire thermos filled. There is a lot of really good coffee shops in Tacoma.

Very nice mocha. Not overly sweet. Breve has pleasant bitter afterburner hubby quite liked.

If you like a crisp Northwest vibe mixed with an urban cabin feel that is hesh, fresh and artistic please check out Manifesto Coffee. This beautiful coffee shop is tucked in the pocket of some of the most gorgeous murals in the Hilltop district in Tacoma. Dan is great barista and come to find out we are both born in the Philippines and both kind of speak the Visayan language. Maraming Salamat, Po bro bro.

I went ahead and changed my rating. I was refused service by one of the baristas for my "mild temperament". It's almost like customers are a little cranky if they don't get their caffeine fix. This place actually used to be really cool and had a nice heavy metal theme. Now there's usually lame, sad pop music playing instead. I miss the old staff, it was a little more welcoming and a little less "inclusive". Too much toxic positivity these days, brave new world, I suppose. Some of the other baristas are alright though, so extra star.

Unpretentious, comfortable place to read or get work done. It's also good for a date, or otherwise meet with friends. The great coffee doesn't hurt either.

Discovered this hidden gem yesterday. It's chill. They roast their coffee in the lobby. Owner and barister are lovely. Good coffee too. Will be back

I appreciate a micro roaster that appreciates the craft of espresso. This place does a great job of focusing on their main product, espresso drinks. There are a few food options from local partners. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The shop is in an area that is quickly gentrifying.
