This was a nice place to eat dinner. We arrived about 6 on a Wednesday and it was easy to find a table. They have some seating outside, one table and then a long outside bar with stools. The atmosphere was comfortable. The sunshine through the window made it easy to see while inside. The employees were very friendly! I appreciate that the music was kept at a level where it was still easy to have a conversation, rather than cranking it up as it got busier. We had the pork tacos and the hamburger. Both were good, and good sized portions. We saw several plates of nachos walk by, and I am pretty sure they could easily feed 2 people! The arcade area and pool table are separated from the rest of the bar by a wall, which made it surprisingly quiet and calm. The games and photo booth all take dollar bills or quarters, and they have an ATM and quarter machine on hand. The bathrooms are gendered, and I did not see a single use/gender neutral or ada accessible restroom.

The Church Cantina is hands down one of the best and most unique bar and eateries in Tacoma! Located in South Tacoma Way District. Parking is easy as they have a parking lot next to the Cantina. There is a small out side section in front with a few picnic tables to eat, drink and smoke if you like. Usually parked near is a large black hearse that belongs to Adam and Nikki, the amazing married duo behind this one of a kind place. Adam himself is as unique as his business and is extremely kind and easy to talk to. Bartending is this man's forte and he will happily whip you up anything you would like from craft beers to a plethora of cocktails along with good conversation. Nikki is the food mastermind. Having her family roots in Havana Cuba and Miami Florida, she brings old family Cuban recipes to the table with an eclectic flare that leaves your taste buds wanting to eat and try everything this place has to offer. It is that good. If I only had one complaint and it's a small one, it's that they did not have a selection of hot sauces that rivaled there menu. Other than that I have zero complaints. This is just a cool place and one that everyone in Tacoma should give a try and then come back again..and again.. The restaurant and bar itself is warm, cozy but surprisingly unique with a vibe to match! It reminds me of a Penny Dreadful scene and it actually works really well. There is also a nice clean neon lit game/pool room with a brand new photo booth, ski ball and pinball machine and is located in the adjecent room from the bar. Need I say more everyone!? Get down to The Church Cantina and check this place out!!! You won't regret it, I promise.

Loved it-really nice staff. Food & Arnold Palmer cocktail were delicious. (Only deterrent was that we did a photo booth photo -$5-& it never came out of the machine.) It was a little cold in there & music us really loud but generally loved the decor & ambience.

Such a cool Gothic vibe! Good drinks and awesome food. Lots of classic horror and pop culture horror (i dont know if that's the accurate description, but I've added pictures for reference ) stuff to look at. pool table and pinball. The bartender was super nice and personable. Can't wait to go back!

Was briefly in Tacoma for the first time looking for a unique place to eat. Found this awesome gothic/horror/cuban bar. I saw some flyers for cool music events and a side room that houses skee-ball, pinball, and a pool table. Ordered the Mojo Pork bowl which smacked on all levels, enough to take leftovers for a 2nd meal. Accidentally ruined the presentation because I couldn't wait. The elote corn dog was packed! My gf loved that and the crispy/seasoned JoJo fries with it. I enjoyed everything about the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere.

Excellent tacos on taco Tuesday. They were filled to the top and usually cost between $10-15 for two tacos but on taco Tuesday they go for $7 any meat. Good beers and great service. The vibe is dark kinda gothic but no weird people to worry about. The food is delicious and the decor very interesting. I highly recommend this place.

Love this place! Spooky decor, amazing drinks, and a great vegan menu so we all can find something to eat! Tonight I tried the Bruja Blast and the Pineapple Death Punch for my drinks and both were fantastic. We shared the Fried Avocado with the table and they were really tasty. Between the whole group we tried the Mojo Pork Bowl, their Philly Cheesesteak, the Buffalo Bill, and their Nachos. Everyone loved their meals and we will definitely be back to sample the all day breakfast! The guys behind the bar are super friendly and helpful with how ordering works and the service is top notch! Definitely our new favorite spot!

Just went to the The Church Cantina for the first time for food and I gotta say: absolutely delicious 🤤 and very very very friendly people. The atmosphere is super cool! It’s kinda like a horror bar with some much energy here lol! The workers are super helpful and nice to you. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with fries and my hubby ordered the Veggie Cubano sandwich with fries too. I got a Diet Coke and he got a cold brew. My fries were Wedge and my hubbys were Yucca fries. Everything about it was just soooooo yummy 😋. Highly highly recommended! Love love love it 😍

Fyi it is very dark in here but that fits with the theme. 1st time here I tried the chimichurri steak bowl.the meat had great flavor there was a little more beans than necessary in my opinion but it wasn't too bad. They have a variety on their menu so that's nice and their drinks looks pretty good too.

Really good chili coconut prawns bowl. Totally different than what we expected. We were thinking fried but look at the pics below. Really yummy! Not to mention the service was very friendly. We accidentally accepted the wrong drinks and they didn't make you feel bad about it. Thanks for making our weekend pleasant!

Has delicious food that is not outrageously priced. Awesome Gothic-ish atmosphere. There is a pool/game room. Bathrooms are clean and nice. Bartenders are great! Their gin and tonics were poured well and tasted really good unlike some other bars. They do not have an happy hour at all anymore.

This place is amazing! Adam and his crew are on point with their service, mixology. Full tilt 1,000 MPH and never miss a beat with customer interaction. They know their craft and they are masters of it. Don't let the cover fool you. You're welcome with a button-down collar or if Black is your only color clothing. Their food is Cuban inspired and delicious. Don't miss this place.

My husband and I have been here quite a few times now. Love this place. No matter who the server or the bartender is, we always get great service. Lots of bars have the music too loud, so you can’t really have a conversation. This place keeps it at the right volume so you can still talk to the people you’re eating and drinking with. We have had almost everything in the menu. It’s all great! Love coming here!! Thank you to all the staff. You all do a great job! Great customer service!!

Church Cantina has been on our list for a very long time. Sometimes places just go unvisited even though you plan on visiting. My wife visited a month or so back and she enjoyed it and I decided I probably need to give it a shot. It's awesome. Cool gothic vibe. It has the feel of a dive bar but is family-friendly. The drinks were nice. And the food was excellent. I think next time we visit we will do the mini corn dogs and the avocado fries and combine the flavors.

I had the most amazing burrito called The Safety Dance added gravy on the side it was so flavorful and filling I was able to make two meals out of it. I also got to try the bean dip which was the best I have ever had. It was not your typical bean dip. It was made with Black beans which is my personal favorite. The atmosphere was awesome there is so much to look at on all the walls and lots of stories behind a lot of the art work and pictures. Also kid friendly during earlier hours so everyone can enjoy the food.

A goth themed experience with excellent food and drink. Great fast service, small game room with pool and pinball. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They offer vegan and non vegan options. I absolutely enjoy the music they play here and the overall vibe of the place. They deserve a high reconmendation, especially if your into themed experiences or part of the goth/alternative subcultures.

Love that they allow kids in here (till 9pm?). We definitely need more establishments in Tacoma that don't cater to just adults. Much appreciated. Food is delicious. Really appreciate that they accomdate my onion allergy best as possible :)

This is a fantastic Goth bar that has a full and delicious menu. They have both meat and vegan options. I had the crunchy vegan and the vegan chorizo was amazing! The wet burritos are massive so be prepared to share or take some home. They have both inside and outside shaded seating. It is a bar and very popular so be aware there will be significant noise. Highly recommend!

Had a great time Wednesday night with my friend. After a local show, we stopped in on a whim and had a nice experience. Food and drinks are a little up in cost, but reasonable for what they are. Everything was very enjoyable. Also the bartender, Adam, was a lovely human, and very kind. Thank you Adam for the beautiful spicy mango drink. I have wanted one every day since.

Absolutely the best bar in Tacoma. Food is effing amazing and the bartenders are dope af. They often host events with live DJs and synthwave nights. Would highly recommend The Church Cantina to anyone. The staff is friendly and the food is brought out fast as hell. They also have a great selection of unique drinks.

This was the perfect dive bar esthetic with amazing food, great service, and the atmosphere is so cool. I am a huge fan of the macabre and this was perfect. I had the monster mash burger with sweet potato wedges, and shared the fire avocados and potato croquettes with my fiancé. Everything was fresh and so good. The bar tender was able to suggest a great non alcoholic drink for the future hubs, and I loved the spicy mango drink he suggested. After our meal we played ski ball in the attached arcade and took photos in the photo booth, attaching one to the wall with our names and the date, like so many others. Id give this place 10 stars if I could.

If you dont like coming in to church, ill guarantee you'd like this one 😁 Great place, great environment, first time visiting the place, we went around 1:00pm, Amber, the bartender/waitress was great, very nice vibe, went to check up on us if everything was going well and all that 👍 The food, I forgot the name of my burger, but the one pictured there is the one that is made with WAGYU (never tried it before) and it was very very good, I enjoy it alot, nice flavor, I did took out the mustard from my hamburger, but I left the rest of the ingredients and it was great, if you don't know what to try, try this burger for sure, it doesn't come with the regular burger bread and I really liked that too. The sweet potato fries were awesome as well. Next time I'll take pictures of the bar area,
