The pandemic hit me hard, and I was in the worst shape of my life when I found Anthony. Anthony is an excellent trainer, and he helped me get back into shape, feel good about myself, and his routines helped to eliminate the aches and pains I felt from my general lethargy during the pandemic. He’s a pleasure to work with and got me back on track at a pace that was good for me. He tailored each exercise to meet my goals and straddles the line between pushing you to succeed and knowing when you need to stop like a pro. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

This is by far the most inclusive gym I've ever belonged to. Great place with great people! Anthony is exceptional and puts together intense workouts that are highly varied and never boring. It took me a while to get up the courage to check this gym out and I'm so glad I did.

Those lucky people who say they love the feeling they get while working out? Yeah, that’s definitely not me. I hate it. It hurts. It’s hard to breathe. The minutes go by so slowly. I just want to be done. And then there’s Anthony. While I hate the actual ‘having to exercise’ part of going to the gym, I enjoy him as both a trainer and a person. Perhaps he notices the daggers shooting from my eyes when he strays from the usual 3 sets and adds a fourth because I ‘look like (I) could do another one’. I hate how he makes me do the ropes because he knows it’s my least favorite cardio move. Perhaps I occasionally swear when I feel like I can’t do another rep but he’s telling me I need to do 2 more ( sometimes under my breath. Sometimes, I make sure he hears it). It’s possible he has lost faith in my ability to ever ‘keep that right knee out’. Surely, I drive him crazy asking him the same questions about how to do something. But, here’s the thing with Anthony: no matter how hard I think he’s pushing me past what I think I can do, he’s always been right. He is very perceptive at picking up when I’m honestly exhausted and when I’m just being lazy. So, what I’m saying here is that you won’t be able to slack off with him like you can when working out alone at home. Be prepared for that. In a good way. I guess😁. I’m 51 years old, 5’5”, and have had 2 children. I started out at 142 lb. I have been training with him once a week for 7 months. During that time, I’ve lost 20 lb. I tried losing the weight at home. That used to work but as I’ve aged, it no longer does. Additionally, as someone who suffers from social anxiety, I never thought I would be brave enough to go to a gym. There’s always that fear of being judged. But his sense of humor and easygoing nature have made me unusually comfortable. He flipped the switch. He holds me accountable. Every time I walk through the doors, he asks how my home workouts are going. If I tell him some muscle or joint has been hurting that week, he tells me how to adjust the exercise to accommodate it. Every base is covered. Everyone’s ideal trainer would be someone who truly wants them to succeed and he does that. I rarely recommend professionals/ companies to people because I worry the experience that they have might not be as positive as the one I have, but this is an exception. There is no doubt. I’ve told Anthony that if it’s not him, it’s no one. He is the ruler by which all others are measured. I can’t imagine finding anyone better. And if I haven’t mentioned how much I hate working out, let me do that now, for the 12th time. But as much as I dread that 45 minutes while it’s happening, I love the feeling when I walk out the door, knowing I just did that. And every time I do a work-out at home, I’m proud of myself. The support he provides, his knowledge, his ability to motivate, just his whole persona is top-notch. This is the place to make progress. So, here’s the part where I tell Anthony ‘thank you. I couldn’t have done it without you. But I truly hate my 45 minutes with you.

I started training at OG muscle a year ago doing private sessions 2-3 times a week. As a single Mom who works full time I decided I needed to take the time to do something for myself and to also take control of my health. I am down 25 pounds and have never felt so strong and healthy. Anthony takes the time to understand your goals and pushes you in a positive and fun way to achieve them. I have never been the biggest fan of working out but now I actually look forward to doing it . Anthony sets you up to be successful in the OG gym and also in any exercises you want to do on your own. The best investment in myself I have made.

Trainer Anthony was knowledgeable and encouraging. The constructed workout for the day was well-paced and welcomely varied. Looking forward to the next one!

I’d been curious about strength training and weight lifting for many reasons, the big one being that I just wanted to do everything I could to keep moving as I age. Later in life, I don’t want any aches and pains to limit me and keep me from doing the things I love. Also, looking at my genetics and knowing what ailments and diseases run in my family, I knew that strength training could potentially ward off some of those things plus help me manage issues I’m dealing with already. My friend had been taking classes at Organically Grown Muscle and spoke so highly of owner/trainer Anthony, the program, and the community surrounding it. At the end of September, I signed up with Anthony and began doing private training sessions with him twice a week at the gym. Anthony is a kind, caring, and encouraging trainer. He offers instruction clearly. If I am doing things wrong, he gently corrects, never making me feel like I’m failing or doing things too terribly wrong. He has a deep knowledge base of fitness, health, and nutrition and is always happy to field any questions I have. He pushes me harder than I ever do on my own. When I hit a new personal record, he’s truly as excited at the victory as I am. He offers such great support. When I first started going to OGM I had been doing a lot of walking plus some cardio at the Y, but was really ready to vary my routine. His strength training and weight lifting program, customized to meet my body’s needs, offers great variety. It’s never boring. All muscles are addressed. I love witnessing the measurable progress - seeing new muscles take shape, moving up to heavier weights, and doing things I never thought my 55-year old body was capable of doing. I love feeling stronger and moving though each day with greater ease. Generally, I feel calmer and happier. Going into this, I never expected it would have such a positive affect on my mental health — I really only anticipated changes to my physical body. The space he’s created is welcoming, comfortable, and feels safe - not your typical gym culture. He’s attracted a wonderful clientele - a diverse group of people at a broad range of ages who are as encouraging as Anthony is. It’s a positive place. It’s not a competitive place. You feel like you belong there. When I started this journey, I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do. I’ve increased my appointments to three times a week now with Anthony, and look forward to each day — even “leg day.” OGM is a life-changer. I’m so grateful I found my way there.

Anthony has built a community space where anyone can come in and feel welcome and safe in their health and wellness journeys. He recruits likeminded trainers that give positive feedback so members can develop their weightlifting techniques and see gains. OG Muscle classes have been a highlight of my week for the past two years and am always bummed when I have to miss. 11/10!

Anthony is a great trainer, I didn't even know what to do with a barbell a year ago. He has created a space for a supportive and diverse community of people to focus on their wellness and we have a good time doing it. Although class is always challenging, I always leave in a good mood and I have gotten so much stronger!

My husband and I have been with Organically Grown Muscle for over 2 years, working with multiple trainers including Heather, Amanda and Anthony. We have enjoyed that each of their approaches start from a place of promoting health and wellness, not just physical strength or appearance. We have been able to improve our diet, mental health and bodies over this time which we know will have lifelong effects on how we approach our well-being. Anthony understands a person’s body and their limits. He can balance these in a way that results in progress and growth. Amanda knows how to build strength and is invested in constantly adapting and improving workouts that are tailored to her clients. We would highly recommend this gym and its trainers!

Anthony and the wonderful gym community he's created are exceptional- I highly encourage anyone who is thinking about joining to go for it. Strength training has gone from something that I knew I "should" do, to being an aspect of my day that I love and genuinely look forward to. It's been incredibly gratifying and empowering to see real results in a fairly short period of time. I'm a stronger rower and more balanced runner as a result of the wonderful training here. Anthony is compassionate, knowledgeable, and creates a very supportive and safe environment- everyone is welcome, and individual feedback on technique is plentiful in the small group classes. I also really appreciate Anthony underscoring the importance of physical fitness in supporting overall well being and mental health- these are such important conversations to be having, and OGM addresses this in a way that I don't see other gyms doing. Highly, highly recommend!

Anthony was very helpful, welcoming, and encouraging. He even knew my name when I walked in the door! Class environment was friendly and supportive without being over the top. I don't like other classes with blasting music or constant screaming/ cheering. Actual workout was great and based on building strength without silly movements or jumping around! I have had many not so great experiences at other classes but I really enjoyed Organically Grown Muscle!

I took my first class this week and am super excited to go back. I enjoyed the format of the class, instructor paid attention to form and was engaged, and it can be modified for all levels

When I started Weightlifting 101 two months ago I didn't know the first thing about "doing weights." Within one class, I knew I'd made the right decision. Anthony helped me select the right weights, gently corrected my technique, and was positive and supportive throughout the class. I am absolutely stunned by the gains I have made in just 14 classes. Not only do I feel stronger but my confidence and general physical fitness is also improving. Now, when we reach the end of a workout session I find myself not wanting to leave. Weightlifting has become a wonderful escape from my busy work life, and from other stressors. It's the place I go now to escape and shut off my thinking. If you're on the fence about giving this gym a shot, just go for it. Try one class, or sign up for the hugely discounted first month. On top of everything else, you'll have a ton of fun!

I have been doing physical therapy for most of my life to deal with chronic pain from hypermobilty. I started seeing Anthony instead to focus on more strengthening and stability for my body and the I can't recommend him enough. He has great knowledge of the body and takes the time to explain exercises really well.

I can’t say enough good things about Anthony and this place he’s built from the ground-up! I started doing personal training sessions 1-2x/week a few months ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. I now have so much confidence in weightlifting! Anthony is patient, attentive, extremely knowledgeable and most of all just a joy to work with. He’s by far the most accessible trainer I’ve worked with. No two workouts are the same and I finally see strength training as part of my lifelong health instead of something to be intimated by. Hurry and book a session with this guy, you won’t regret it!

I have known Anthony for a long time. A year ago I finally took the leap and joined his gym. I'm so glad I did!! Anthony has helped me so much with toning and strength and coordination. He pushes me and works muscles I didn't even know I had! This is an amazing gym and if you want a great trainer that cares about you and wants to see you be better, then look no further!

As a person I have a hard time sticking with things. The way the classes are designed make me want to continue to keep coming back for more. Heather and Anthony are amazing at what they do. They encourage you to do the best that you can do. Even if you aren’t where someone’s else is it doesn’t matter because they help you to stick to your own path and be happy with the results and progress. They also make the environment very inviting and welcoming. Overall I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I have lifted weights for years and have worked around lots of personal trainers, many of whom are not particularly skilled or that can actually get you hurt. Having been at Anthony's gym for a couple months its pretty clear he know his business and knows how to set up a great workout while at the same time keeping people safe. This is not an "iron gym", you are not going to find people only worried about getting huge and hawking supplements. Anthony's focus is on fitness, strength and health. It's perfect for both beginners as well as more experienced folks like myself that just need the energy of a class to stay enthused and committed. Every month Anthony has designed new workout routines to keep things fresh and people motivated. OGM is worth the price and a great alternative to the "big box" gyms.
