I love this place with one exception. More of that to follow. So, this is a small cafe ran by a great older couple that serves great sandwiches and some Asian (Korean) food (just a few dishes of Korean). I usually get the tuna or BLT at lunch and the service is extremely good. Penny is a cute Korean lady and we chat every-time. The only exception is the price. The BLT w a drink and tip comes out to almost 17 bucks. For the same thing 100 yards down, I can actually get a better sandwich with a lot of variety of breads for 9 dollars with a drink. I still go to Pennys at least once a week but I’ve cut back from my 2-3 times and hit the other sandwich place or the Vietnamese place. Otherwise, I say GO! They won’t disappoint w the American and Asian lunches and the customer service is excellent!!

Just had lunch there with my family, we ordered the chicken sandwich on wheat bread and two orders of bi bim bap. Delicious!!!! I am stuffed and happy. The lady which im assuming was the owner educated us on how to properly eat the dish. Thank you 🙏 we will be back again. Support your small shops during this time.

Once again, found a gem. This was exactly the café I needed. I got the breakfast BLT, which was the best BLT I've had in a minute. Excellent service and ambiance - especially given the seating area is the building lobby. It was easy to work and the building itself has old town brass accents which transported me to a different time. The owner is kind, down to earth, and wonderful. I couldn't be more satisfied or pleased. Thank you!

Great to try once, If you have time to wander around in the morning like me, this place is good. I bought a white chocolate mocha, a fried rice portion which I can eat a bit in the morning and save the rest for lunch in the office. Like other people mentioned, they don’t have labors, so if you don’t want to wait then order and go for a walk or on the phone about 10mins then come back to pick up your hot food. My food is yummy

Delicious, quick and satisfying lunch. Bibimbap is a specialty dish of rice, kimchee, meat, veggies, sauce with a fried egg on top. You mix it all together and yum! Nice folks too, I will be back.

My family and I are on vacation from NY. We looked up where to go for breakfast and this small spot popped up. I’m so glad we stayed , IT WAS AMAZING! delicious food and the woman, Penny, was great.

Me and my wife had amazing experience. The lady was so cute and the guy work there was extremely helpful they even gave us complimentary mocha. The chicken fried rice was amazing and latte and chai latte was perfect!! Everything was perfect. The lady i wish i know her name was beyond great

i went here all the time when i was going to school and the woman who works here was always nice and made good food. i really liked the fried rice especially, it warmed me up on cold days while i was waiting for my bus home and was delicious in general

Delicious food, perfect spot if you work downtown or are in for a visit. I had the Gogi wrap and it was fantastic. The woman working behind the counter was a gem, so welcoming!

One of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet runs this sweet Cafe. She's helped me out a few times when she literally didn't have to. She's a person I'll never forget, I hope to help her out like she's helped me and others over time.

Little hidden gem located inside a building. Lovely owner, her fried rice is delicious! I got the combo with everything in it. It had chicken, shrimps, and bacon in it with a huge egg on top. The portion is huge so the leftover will take care of my lunch ☺️. I’m definitely combing back!

Very quaint little cafe that always has great food and high quality coffee. Family owned kinda place that also offers some traditional Korean food!

Beautiful little Cafe, the lady Penny is so nice and you can tell she enjoys what she does in the Cafe. I for one will definitely be coming back next time I'm out in tacoma. (Photo of omafryed rice)

We parked on Commerce Street and failed to find any place open for lunch-seems lots of places closed on an April Monday. Using Google we see that Lucky Penny is open. It's on the Chamber of Commerce building. Plenty of choice and you sit in the lobby next to the lifts. A really interesting building. Excellent food.

One of the best bibimbap I’ve ever had! Owners are so sweet and caring! Highly recommend!
