We arrived at 12:20 and even if they have a large parking area it is already full. If you're planning to eat lunch or dinner I advise you to come early and get a number so you won't get really hungry from waiting. Love the ambiance, their ice cream is homemade and they give generous serving on their bulalo (but it would be more awesome if they make their beef more tender). I gave one star less for it's a bit pricey

Went here for lunch. They have a lot of offerings on their menu and they are somehow on the expensive side. If you are going here by car, you have to wait for the long parking queue. We also waited for our table and foods though it was all worth it. Their comfort rooms are clean but a bit small. Overall experience is very nice as you get to view the Taal Lake from here.

Balay Dako is physically stunning: massive space, appealing decorations, stunning chandeliers, and welcoming vibe. It’s great for families looking for quality dining experience in the chilly Tagaytay. The servers are warm and responsive. The price is reasonable, albeit respectively higher than that of other restaurants. Before you enter the restaurant, make sure to get a queue number from the guard at the entrance. I don’t necessarily like their batchoy. It’s a bit salty.

Food was really great! It came out so fast unlike our drinks we had to follow up with 3 different servers/waiters on where our iced tea at; it took 15 mins after they served our food to get the iced tea and another 15 mins to get a refill. But overall food was good :)

Went here for a birthday celebration. We are a frequent customer here. The food is a bit pricey compared to other restaurants along the area which serve Filipino food. Although the Serving amount of food is also adequate if you can in as a group. ambiance is really good, classy and sleek. Waiting time is very short. And the staff were very accommodating. We were seated at the lower ground. Place is very kid-friendly.

Food was great, especially the beef soup which was super rich and has lots of meat. We are seated right beside the windows with an amazing panoramic view. Will visit again if I happen to travel to Tagaytay.

Great View of the Volcano, Great Food... What more do you want? The food is really good and tasty, in the same time; it is clean. We ordered a variety of options and we get to try a wide range of food. The staff members are well trained and understand our orders including special requests. The overall Restaurant is really big and exclusive! There is no Wifi though We came just after the Volcano eruption and so we get to see the Volcano still smoking in a distance. The overall area is still covered with ashes so it will take a while for a clean up. Totally enjoyed the food and view!

What an awesome place to eat, sightsee, and just hangout. Their space is big, open, and can definitely social distance safely from one table to the next. The views are just amazing! The food is yummy. Would definitely come back here again!

My #1 Bulalo place!! I have eaten at 3 different places during my stay in Tagaytay and this one is just the best imo! The restaurant gives you a very authentic vibe since its so open, very nature like, and the view of the Taal is just amazing!! Bulalo is so delicious!!

I loved the food and the ambience of the place. It feels like your grandparents' home and their cooking. It also has a really good view of Taal lake. We were lucky enough to seat just beside the windows. It was really a memorable lunch.

I have been here the third time and I must say that the taste of their food changed a bit. We usually order KBL but the meat serving is few and the taste of the soup changed from the first time we ordered it. Tawilis is not that crispy and I think there is after taste of the oil used. Their halo halo is okay but find it pricey for 340 pesos per cup. The prices of their food is a bit high since you can have a better version of it somewhere. I bet you really paid for the ambiance and location. Service is just okay. The waiters seldom smile. Maybe they are tired already. A guest also complained how their group were treated during our stay. But good thing it was settled. I hope they quality of the food will be retained.

food is great not very much expensive but large plate and delicious. but 1st too much long waiting, we spent 20mins parking the car and 1more hour waiting outside. and when you enter the seat you don't see things outside because of a net covered the whole restaurant. all view are been filtered by that net thus you can't see the volcano or the lake clearly.

Perfect place to celebrate special occasions or any occasions. The place is usually packed with customers. Patience in falling in line is needed. Ambience is something notable with this restaurant. A wide range of Filipino food to choose from. Plenty of parking space.

Had to drop by and try this Filipino Restaurant in Tagaytay. Spacious parking lot. The guard on duty was accommodating and gave us instructions on what to do before going inside the restaurant. We approached the door person who told us to wait for our queue in the lobby since this restaurant is very busy and a large group of people keeps coming in. Did not wait long enough to call our queue number. The door person assisted us and endorsed us to another door person I think since they have the same uniform. Was introduced to a server who instructed us to scan the QR code for their menu. What I can say about this execution is very organized and well planned. This is to fill in their time to accommodate all the guests. We ordered ginataang monggo, tawilis, and bistek tagalog. These food are all great. A little bit expensive for a Filipino Cuisine but it’s fine since the food here is appetizing! I just noticed how the server here lacks proper training on how to handle guests. Not good enough for guest service. They don’t say “excuse me” and just leave your table after repeating your orders. They don’t give you serving time when to expect your order. I am expecting this kind of service because this restaurant gives a luxury vibe to guests. I hope they can manage and improve their guest service more. Overall experience was not that bad, considering that I loved the food that we ordered.

Great interior and ambience but that’s about it. The food being good isn’t a plus, it’s a requirement because of the expensive prices. The service is absolutely mediocre. You can spend 30mins trying to call a waiter without one noticing you. Never again.

My expectation was high due to the good reviews. But it faded in an instant because the food wasn't at par with my fave resto in Manila. The laing was not spicy at all, it was too salty for my liking. Their bestseller pancit ni antonio has soggy egg noodles and it was bland. The bibingka was a bit underdone in the center. Overall, the food was disappointing. The only redeeming factor was the view and the ambience of the restaurant.☹️

Great place for large groups of friends and family. All real classic Pinoy food. No fluff or pretentious food here. Family style services. Amazing halo-halo views are even better. No trip is complete to Tagaytay without stopping here.

Amazing view, great atmosphere and vibe. The price of their menu items is up there, with reasonable service size, and hit-or-miss taste. Their meal items are good but stay away from their awful Halo-halo. It's like eating bland slush with some ingredients.

What a great Sunday morning to have your breakfast with the view of Taal right before you! Breakfast buffet is 1,200 per person. It is much better to come early and with reservations to avoid long queues. The food was great with plenty of choices, quick refilling and you can customize your fried rice. Their hot chocolate is superb! Staff are accommodating and attentive. Great for family gatherings at any time of the day.

Great place to dine with family. With a great view of Taal volcano. Big place, can cater a lot of guests. Cozy and clean ambience. They have varieties of food on their menu. Serving is just okay, a little bit pricey. They have enough parking for the guests. Restroom is clean. They have a big couch for waiting area where you can also take pictures. Staff are accommodating and courteous. Their bulalo is really good!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent! The ambiance of the restaurant super nice, there was a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Taal and quite affordable pricing. Great place to dine in Tagaytay with a view. Two floors to dine here - the upper level has a balcony area from which to view Taal, while the lower level is likewise great, though there is a mosquito net put in place. We loved the kansi and inihaw na liempo. Shout out to the excellent service we received from Adriel!

This is a restaurant with a wonderful view of Taal Volcano Island, which is an active volcano surrounded by Taal Lake. There was a line to get a table, but it didn't take long before we got a table. The food was really good. The only thing that lowers the rating was the cocktail. It was too sweet and too little rum in the Mojito. I pointed this out to the waiter and bartender, however met with no response or willingness to replace it.

The atmosphere inside feels like you're eating in a big family dinner (there's a lot of family with kids dining in here). It is well-ventilated and lots of natural light inside. The staffs are great and the food we ordered are good. Yes, it's a bit price-y, but I think it's worth it. The place get crowded near lunch time, and their parking gets full. Their food selection/menu is for sharing, and they assemble your takeout on your table.

Highly recommended but you have to bring lots of patience. Since we are still on quarantine, safety protocols are strictly enforced here at Balay Dako. Upon arrival, the guard-on-duty provides a slip of paper with your queuing number with a QR code for contact tracing purposes (which you need to scan, accomplish and submit). Filling-out the form while inside the car is highly advisable so that when you go out, you may just declare your number and tell the receptionist that you have finished with the contact tracing app (which they will check of course), otherwise they will not let you in. With step 1 done, they will take your temperatures and assist you inside the restaurant until you reach the designated table for your group. Second, no physical menu is being offered here so you must scan again a QR code or go to a link to see the menu. If you don't have a mobile data, don't worry because Balay Dako provides a free wifi. Third, go place your orders. The server declares their new guidelines and asks for your understanding. If you want to have your photo taken, please remember that restaurant servers or staff are not allowed to assist you with that for protection purposes. Just practice and apply your skills on taking selfies/groufies. Fourth, enjoy the really good food they serve. You may remove your face masks now. Fifth, ask for your bill. If you have companions who are senior citizens, just give their IDs so that you will have a discounted rate on the final total of the bill. Again, patience is the key. They just have one cashier, so wait for your change. You may want to bring home some products and delicacies they offer there. Lots of choices actually, take your pick.

Good place and good food. Better visit the place for Lunch or early breakfast, not much of a view during dinner time - I mean if that's one of the things you'd wish to see. Ask to be seated upstairs if you wish to get a better view of Taal or maybe choose the Silong. No need for reservations at this time. We didn't wait too long in queue, we came about an hour before the restaurant closed. They follow health protocols from social distancing, to strict compliance with health declaration form. Alcohols at the entrance. Food was good, just the right amount of serving for about 3-4 people. The Lechon Kawali was cooked 'til tender, the sauce isn't outstanding though. Didn't expect that the tofu would have celery so it was surprising yet felt refreshing to the taste buds. Shanghai used just the right amount of wrapper. Sinigang na hipon was perfect for the cool weather - though you can count the number of shrimps with your hands (I guess I expected that). This is a good place to visit for functions and big groups. Similar to Pamana, they serve a good mix of Eastern cuisines. The restroom looked clean but could probably use some air fresheners. The staff were all good and nice, possibly better if they would proactively refill the drink or ask customers if they'd want one (had to ask thrice). Took quite some time to bill out - waited for receipts and some change. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant and definitely go back.

Experience is great, especially as a get away family bonding place. Sunday is really packed but guests are being escorted by alert parking boys. Stub with qscan expedite everything: your number to be seated, your info for monitoring, and menu is also accessible via the small paper for queueing. Their good coordination in having the guests be seated makes their service faster! Beautiful view, especially when seated upstairs. Clean bathrooms with sufficient toiletries! But be ready for the price and service charge! Plus voluntary tipping! Special mention to waiter Nevin for the good service ! And!!! Don't forget the tawilis! It's endemic in Tagaytay. And of course....bulalo ❤

Our Happy Place in Tagaytay This place is famous for a reason. The food and the experience are worthy of our money and our time. Parking is jam-packed but their staff are well trained to smoothly accommodate everyone and welcome us. People are still willing to wait including us. Good thing that they have their souvenir/pasalubong store so we could check and buy interesting baked goods and spread. Another good thing is their classic and homey interior. We had time to roam around the waiting area to check their paintings, take photos and to appreciate the place more. Then it is time to take our seat and see the menu via online. We had their famous sizzling bulalo na baka, a must have dish when visiting the place. And it is really tender that I experience the saying "the beef that melts in my mouth". It is also delicious that everyone of us enjoys it. Other dishes we ordered are really good too from the main dish to dessert. They seem that it is well prepared from fresh ingredients. We had to take home some of them and still the food are as good as new when we heated them back at home. It is a definitely a good experience for us and definitely to anyone who will visit the place and who is craving for Filipino cuisine. It is really a highly recommended place for family and friends. ❤️

The view was amazing and I guess that's what you pay for aside from the ambience. We ordered their bulalo and it was very delicious and tasty. They gave a heaping serving too so you get value for your money. Their tortang talong w/giniling wasn't anything to write home about but their fried tawilis was also delicious with the right amount of saltiness. We were seated outside and even though it was 1pm, the breeze was cool.

A snazzy yet affordable restaurant with amazing views of the Taal lake. (Review from our visit a year ago, in 2021) The food is amazing and the views and ambience are top notch. It feels like you're paying a lot more for the experience. The lighting was dim and very moody when we ate here though, which my mom didn't appreciate because she wants to actually see the food that she paid for. 😅 Can get very very very crowded though and the lines can be long if you're not coming in with a reservation.

Aside from their regular filipino food, their breakfast buffet is my favorite! Everything was good specially the bread section and the fried rice section where you get to choose your own mix for the fried rice. I was just shock with the price increase. Overall its still the best.

Loved the atmosphere here with its family-style dining. TBH I can't remember the names of the food but everything we had was delicious. They also serve their own ice cream. I wish I had left some time for dessert but I just couldn't stop eating the food we ordered. Would highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

A very busy place to go to, but the food is definitely worth it. Had lunch with a group of people so we were able to get several dishes and each one that I tried was excellent. The food was quick to come out, but while we were waiting we had time to take some amazing pictures of the volcano. Highly recommended!

The venue, decor, and view are amazing. The view is magnificent and breathtaking. The service is amazing. Food comes out quickly. I love the mix of modern and traditional interior design. It is quite unique. Definitely recommend visiting and dining.

Avoid the busy times, either get in early or later, the wait would be longer. Our number was 376 and they were seating number 320, but it went by fast. Your vehicle enters through a gate and parking is limited inside the premises. There’s a deli shop inside, two dining areas, the main and the terrace, which has an unobstructed scenic view of Taal volcano crater and lake. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Tagaytay with a great view and the food tastes great.

Wow! That's best description for. BD. The view is amazing, but most restaurants in this side will have the same. But the restaurant is clean, feels new and all windows facing Taal. The food is just as good as the view especially the Bulalo. You get extra broth too if you run out and for takeout leftovers. One order good for 5-6 people, we had five and had leftover. The desserts look amazing too. It sadly we were too full to try. I did have the Sago Gulaman and was very good. Meal for lunch was 2500 pesos. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed! Go early or around peak times. We waited 40 min but seemed faster and large waiting lounge inside with view. Can take pictures while you wait

I've always wanted to eat at Balay Dako, but was put off by the full parking. The day before my husband's birthday, we decided to go because it was a weekday. It was still full, but manageable. And it has good reason to be so in demand. None of the things we ordered were mediocre. The chicken satay's large tender chunks destroyed all other chicken satay for me. But it was also difficult to pick a favorite because each of the dish was a winner. Even if the palitaw pieces are small, they're still pretty heavy, too. Really enjoyed the food. The staff had been pretty busy, so if you wanna come here, pack lots of patience. There are so many customers even on a weekday that they'd be understandably slowed down.

The food is good and worth the price. I was actually surprised to see that their food is not that pricey since the view is very amazing. We were seated in a very good location so we get to see the beautiful view that the place offers. There are alot of tables to accommodate customers and the servants are nice. It's also cool that they make the piyaya right in front of you. Will definitely go back here.

BUFFET breakfast is a pleasurable experience. The buffet spread is well placed across the entire room, which means long lines are kept at a minimum because foot traffic can be spread out. Food choices are very good and truly masarap. A bit expensive though compared to Vikings and other hotel buffets. Room for improvement : Staff can be friendlier.

The ambiance is the best. It gives you that nostalgic feeling of the old tradition. Ordered the chicken rear, eggplant salad & goat kaldereta. The 1st 2 was really good. However, the goat dish wasn't worth the price as it lack in taste & meat portions wasn't enough. I would still go back as they have other things to offer. Great place to dine for families & friends.

The place is awesome, very accessible and has spacious parking area. We came early evening that is why there were not many costumers and the queue is short, and we thought we would wait longer but not. There are plenty of staff and with a good service. Food selections are great but there serving is not recommended for small group or just too big for two. A whole family will really love to dine in this place because they also have a great view of the scenic Taal. The famous Bulalo takes it all. Go to this place earlier than your usual time of meals so that you will not wait long to be served.

From the parking to receiving area, taking orders, the food, waiters are all well organized. I'm always keen when it comes to plates, glasses, spoons, tables are all spotless! I observed even the clothing of ushers and waiters were very clean and presentable. Worth the money kahit pricey. That's what we paid for. Highly recommended.
