My beer never showed up. The waitress was too busy with the larger tables so I wasn’t able to get her attention until I went to pay the bill. Restaurants make a pretty good percentage profit off of beverages. Beer takes a minute to prepare and serve while food can take much much longer. More time preparing means more labor cost. This was a really fun place to go and eat like a hungry little hippo. When to first walk up to the place, you are greeted with the most amazing cookies and pastries in Tainan! We knew we wanted to start with all of their delicious selections before we even ordered!! And we did so greedily. Our 4yo daughter had no idea what was happening :) Everyone who was sitting down in the restaurant turned to look at our table as the main course arrived and we were happy to share our visual experience at the table with everyone that was intrigued as to why and who we were to eat in such a strange manner. My friend got me a slice of carrot cake tonight, and it’s quite honestly the worst slice of carrot cake I’ve had. The cake smelled like coconut, and I’m fairly certain the cake was under-baked, since it was very gooey in the middle. I could also taste the baking soda/powder at the very bottom of the cake, which, as I’m sure you can guess, was disgusting. This is beyond disappointing.
