5-star price but 3-star accommodation. Stayed 3 nights in an executive room during mid-December 2022. The hotel is showing its age. The lobby and public areas remain impressive. However, the rooms are dated. Lighting is poor and the room feels dark at night. The wall paper is stained and starting to peel. The worst part was the faint musty, mildew odor permeating the room which you noticed immediately upon entering the room but with time you got use to it. Buffet breakfast came with the room. The breakfast offerings were mediocre to adequate, nothing to rave about. One positive aspect of this hotel is the service staff, responsive and helpful.

One of my favorite places to stay in Tainan. My only slight issue is the pool. I wish, given the weather in Tainan, they had a more relaxing pool with pool drinks/food, cabanas and more an experience. I felt their pool was more if you wanted to swim a few laps. Other then that, the hotels location can’t be beat and has nice facilities.

Check-in was very smooth, and the rooms are huge! Free parking if you have booked a room, which is really helpful if you’ve rented a car for a roadtrip through the area. Breakfast is on the expensive side, NTD 660, so I’d recommend venturing out and trying something local!

Price is very reasonable. Service: The front desk service is very proactive, and they are quick to answer questions and assist with a lot of patience throughout. Food: The breakfast selection is diverse, with a highlight being the freshly made local beef noodle soup. Unfortunately, for the Vietnamese pho, you have to adjust the broth flavor yourself if you want it with beef. Facilities: The combination of the pool and the bar with live singers is great for relaxation. Listening to the live singer while lying on the pool loungers is a nice way to unwind, especially in the evening. Cleanliness: The visible areas in the room, as well as the refrigerator and bathroom, are very clean. The only issue encountered was dirt and some small mysterious bugs (similar to termites) around the telephone receiver.

This was 2nd time I have stay here. We just like everything the hotel offered. All staffs are friendly and on top of their game, especially lobby personnel are very helpful with our requested in the last minute. Like it.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic service. The room was very clean and quiet. Very close to shopping malls as well as many great restaurants. A large play area for families with children. There's also a swimming pool with deck chairs to catch some sun and relax. Parking is available on B6 and B7.

Hotel shows aging needs updating. I stayed In Intercontinental Kaohsiung the night before. Clearly, there’s a day and night difference. Intercontinental comes is a much better quality overall experience from amenities and services. More importantly, the dining experience at the Silks is less to be desired. The breakfast is just okay in my book.

The room is very spacious. Love the bath room. Warm and cozy plus next to 新光三越department store. Can not beat the location and the value! Will definitely stay again.

Pros: Spacious room, oversized bathrooms, great service, big swimming pool, beautiful lobby, 12pm checkout, and prime location. Cons: mattress is too hard, gym machines are old with some of them out of service. Most importantly, the breakfast is subpar and feels like what a 3 star business hotel would serve.

Spacious and well-appointed rooms, with wonderful in-room amenities and well-stocked pantry and fridge, all on the house. Location is central and near to the historical sights.

Great food and excellent service. One of the best places to stay in Tainan. Have known about the hotel for some time. The lodging was classy. Easily rivals other 5 star hotels in Taiwan and elsewhere. Amazing spot!

Best western breakfast in Tainan Room are comfy and spacious. Swimming pool is great but many times military airplane fly by and create huge noise.

Nice modern hotel. Stayed in suites on the lounge floor (14th). Ok gym. Nice outdoor pool. Espresso machine in room. Breakfast and evening snacks / drinks in lounge. Stocked mini bar and snacks included. checkin on 14th floor if staying on that floor, which is nice because you can enjoy checkin while waiting for checkin. Nice upscale mall next door. Next to art museum and walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars.

This hotel was referred by one of our colleagues and we were not disappointed. The front desk Danny has great patience and enthusiasm to help. He first tried to understand our needs for exploring the Tainan city and then offer some great options that fit into our schedules . We much appreciate the services !

next to takashimaya. people are friendly and efficient. room is comfortable. TV can be upgrade to a bigger one. wifi is ok. location is walking distance from places of interest. strongly recommended.

Great service, beautiful room, great location, and very kind staff. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. My BF and I decided to leave Tainan one day earlier than planned, and the front desk was very accommodating! They even refunded the night we didn't use. I would definitely go back to Silks in the future. Lovely hotel and wonderful experience!

The check in process was painful. But the rooms are spacious, clean and very accommodating. Great decor throughout and the breakfast buffet is great.

We had the Chinese style breakfast which was nice since Tainan is famous for Taiwanese cuisine, need to complain the loud notice from the ceiling all day lone every 2-5minutes ( room 1005）

We stayed at the Silks Hotel in Tainan and enjoyed our stay very much. We had a king room with a separate tatami bedroom room. We would like to compliment Emily at the front desk. She spoke English well and helped us with check-in, hiring a great guide and with taxi service as we wanted to use a credit card. When we were leaving for the airport, she had bottles of water for us and a taxi waiting. She helped make our stay in Tainan special.

Located in the heart of Tainan City and it's walkable shopping and dinning area. We stayed here for 8 nights and enjoyed it. Great service since day one. Two different breakfast restaurants to choose from, one is Taiwanese style and the other one is Western. It looks like this is the only 5 star hotel in Tainan City and it's recommended.

I always stay with Silks when I visit family in Tainan. Their hospitality team is top notch and super attentive. Even after I checked out and waited for my Uber, the staff noticed I was warm and immediately gave me an iced tea to cool down. I really appreciated and enjoyed my stay here. Also their breakfast is amazing.

Great place to come in Don’t worry if you bring your kids up, there have big enough of playground with many toys inside even PS . And yes have swimming pool, or if you want come with your group and make beach party I thought you can do it to, even have big ballroom so if you want make some party you can do it to 👌, this hotel famous enough in Tainan

Luxury 5 star hotel. In-room smart AI assistant is useful for common utilities such as turning lights on/off, play music, room service, etc.

Always feel comfortable staying in Regent chain. Particularly with Silk Tainan, the best service around this area. Warm and welcoming whenever I visit

Having stayed at many places around Taiwan this was not good in the price to value side with a below average breakfast as well. Rooms were clean and nice but not on par with the price.

Very poor English, very slow service and very poorly coordinated services. Room service promised at 7pm, forgot at 8 pm and delivered cold at 9pm.

Nice hotel room but might not ideal for business travelers due to the design of table - not good for working on laptop.

My biggest complaint is their business center closes at 10pm so I could not do a US time zone phone call at 10:30pm while my husband was snoring loudly in our room. Seems to me a business center should be open longer if it’s just a quiet zone for working. Everything else was 5-star and perfect.

Great experience at Silks Place Tainan; spacious room and great customer service. Got local map while check-in very handy. Got facilities i.e. outdoor swimming pool with good view and gym. Awesome Tainan style breakfast must try if first time visit!

Nice hotel with a beautiful lobby. The room is nice with a sliding separation between bedroom and living room.

Great experience in everyway! Great staff and so polite. All is beatiful! Great breakfast. My only suggestion is to make sure corners of shower and toilet are not black. Takes away from the Great experience. Still, highly recommend!!!
