Came here because of the good reviews on google, and we’re not disappointed. Tempura was incredible! Very similar to Tokyo style. Definitely one of the best in Taiwan. Authentic Japanese salmon sushi. All very fresh ingredients. Great value for money! Went back each time we’re back in Tainan and it never disappointment us! Will go back again next time!

Great place to visit. The staff really tried hard to help us with the order since we don't speak Chinese. The food was absolutely delicious. Very little seasoning which seemed bad at first but the natural flavours of the food and the combination of textures really elevated the dish. I highly recommend this place. When we went out the chef asked us how we liked it and you could really see how excited he was that we liked it. There is some real passion in this food and you can taste and feel it.

It was my first evening in Tainan and I went to this quaint little place for a quick dinner. Despite them having a busy evening, their attentive service was impeccable. Luckily they had an English menu on Tab to help lost foreigners like me and the staff were very patient while I was making my choices. The food was simply amazing. I chose Salmon and it simply melted like butter in my mouth. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was very refreshing. If I ever go back to Tainan, I will definitely ensure to make a visit to them.

I stumbled upon this place by accident and the staff kindly welcomed me in. Despite my poor Chinese language skills the staff were very accommodating and showed me pictures of the menu to help me. I am unable to find any fault with the food, it was really delicious and clearly made with such care and love. The attention to detail in the food really makes this place stand out. I will come back again soon!

The food here is amazing! The salmon was seared perfectly and the mix of texture and flavor made this dish so delicious. We also tried the chiken and it was very tasty. The price is fair, I highly recommend this place. The cook is passionate and happy to know if you enjoyed it.

I ordered Oyakodon, it was impressive though slightly sweet. The dish came with 2 side dishes and a fruit. The restaurant is quite small however the staff are super nice and friendly. recommended

Initially dubious of the surprisingly high ratings, having visited, I also concur by giving it 5-star. Very friendly staff/owner. Huge portion and quality ingredients. Delicious aburi, and don. Small interior. Seats no more than 20. Long queues particularly on weekend nights.

Very friendly service and chef, and really delicious food! We had a chicken bowl and a seafood bowl, and both was delicious, as well as the complementary miso soup.

Absolutely first rate! These folks outdo themselves. Having lived in Japan for ten years I can say with confidence that the food here rivals the best of this sort of food in Japan. The servers are kind and the chefs work at rocket speed. It’s a pleasure simply to observe them at work. It’s an even greater pleasure to eat the food they prepare!

With the restaurant being in a not so busy street and not having a large sign, locating it might need quite some effort! The restaurant has only a few tables and less than 20 seats, so without being super early or late at eating hours, you might need a half to one hour wait. Also, there’s only one chef so food requires time to wait. The food is super nice, being one of the best through the wuton industry, with a sufficient amount of toppings. This is one of the must try in downtown Tainan!

The flavor is rather light but the portion and quality is very much worthy comparing to the price. (Not to mention their free delicious miso soup) If you’d like to take a break and have some Japanese style food, it’s a small cozy place to go to.

First time to Tainan and found this restaurant in a little alley. It is 5 min walk from the hotel near the shopping mall. Awesome service and friendly staff. The sea food is fresh and yummy. It remind me of small alley restaurants in Japan. We came early at 530 and have no issue with finding a seat.

My partner and I loved this spot and hope to go back the next time we’re in Tainan. The seafood bowl was amazing - buttery salmon, three types of shrimp, and a perfect balance of textures. We also tried the cod liver which was delicious. The fried chicken was so juicy and seasoned really well. Coming from NYC, the prices and portions felt incredibly reasonable. Last, the owner is very kind, patient and welcoming. This spot is worth going out of your way for.

A small restaurant situated on a busy foot and motorcycle traffic street in an area full of specialized eateries can be beneficial for gaining patrons without much advertising, or it can be a disadvantage to have to competing with other food places within a shouting distance. This tiny Japanese Donburi eatery seems not affected by either of the above two factors. Its business is built upon its good food. The menu is somewhat bigger than its limited number of seats, actually stools. The food came pretty fast, prepared, and served by only a few workers. You can use your left hand to count and find you still have fingers available. Although you'll have to make a reservation in advance or wait outside on their benches for a while, you won't be rushed, like many eatery will ask you to empty your seats 60 minutes after you're seated for customers in line. You could really enjoy your nice Donburi and other sides. Bon Appétit!

👍👍 Excellent ambience and service! Meat is of good quality. Plating is elegant. Particularly recommend the hot stone garlic rice with prawn, it’s mind blowing good. Place is great for celebrations and gathering. :) oh yes, their grill doesn’t leave the hair and clothes stinking. It’s a plus plus point!

👍👍 Local fast-food restaurant. Will visit here every time I come to Tainan(cuz there wasn't Dan Dan in Taipei). Fried chicken burger and congee with preserved eggs and meat were highly recommended! All the dishes are cheap.
