We decided at the last minute to take the Night Market tour through this organization and feel we couldn't have made better use of our time. Our tour guides, Anne and Mike, were very knowledgable and friendly, and spoke excellent English. We tasted so much great food, and it was fun being whisked along from stall to stall, never having to deal with the money but always knowing we were tasting the best of the best. Highly recommend!

I had a free weekend in Taipei on a work trip, so a colleague and I decided to take a food tour with Taipei Eats. We were so thrilled with our experience. Natasha, our guide, was warm, welcoming, hospitable, and knowledgeable about Taiwan's cuisine, culture, and history. From the wet market to the stinky tofu, the tour was an absolute joy. My colleague is vegetarian and Natasha accommodated her without a problem. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who doesn't mind doing quite a bit of walking, eating, and exploring. Thanks, Natasha, and Taipei Eats, for a wonderful experience!

Took this tour on a warm Christmas morning without knowing what to expect. i was excited for the opportunity to try some local food especially in the morning & for lunch as mostly i found that the food in taipei revolves around the night food markets but this tour gave me an eye opening experience into the world of breakfast & lunch in the city that seems to never sleep. our tour guides where super friendly & very knowledgable of the history, culture & of course the food. It was a small group & i believe that they only take a maximum of eight people on any trip this makes it a more intimate experience & much easier to sit in the busy restaurants. So what about the food? its a food tour right?… Well i can say that i was some of the best food that i tried in Taiwan. From street snacks to fish balls soup we visited so many places that it was difficult to keep count but i can say that we had some foods that you will be familiar with like steamed buns but other local dishes like taiwanese congee that is very different from the chinese version. fish, meat, vegetables & dessert we seemed to have covered all the major food types including medicine as we had a beautifully delicate herbal drink that was well needed to cut through the rich food, its also good for you so thats a bonus. This was a perfect tour of a super interesting historical area in this relatively new city. Doing it on Christmas day was an interesting experience for me & i can honestly say that i did not miss the traditional Christmas dinner as the food was so good. Its a must do experience in Taipei.

I’ve been on a few food tours in various cities by different companies and found the Old School tour led by Tina to be my favorite one yet. I only had a few days in Taipei, but still wanted to get a good taste of some of the unique foods available in the city and was able to accomplish my goal with this tour. Not only were the dishes tasty, but the explanations provided by Tina were both detailed and interesting. Additionally, the information we got about other places to eat and visit in Taipei following the tour was helpful in making the most of our short visit. In short, I would highly recommend Taipei Eats if you are at all interested in trying Taipei’s wonderful cuisine.

Excellent walking food tour. Don't eat before as you'll have plenty on your plate as you walk around and learn about the food and its place in the culture in Taiwan. Highly recommend for the quality of food and the hospitality of the guide whom is the owner.

I signed-up for the Xinyi backstreets tour, and boy am I glad I did. I was travelling by myself, and wanted to learn more about the food culture in Taipei and Taiwan. Just before starting the tour I received an email that the other tour members had cancelled, and the guide, Mike, wondered if I would still like to move forward. Since it was the only day I could make the tour, I asked if it would be OK to move ahead. They had no problem doing so, and as a result, I essentially had a private tour! Mike was incredible. His knowledge of food and culture/history generally, were very broad. His touring style - walking a little, eating, discussing the food, introducing the shop owner and their history, walking some more - was fantastic. It seemed we didn't go more than a few hundred yards and BAM! food! The food we enjoyed ranged from exotic to expected (soup dumplings anyone?!) and everything was fantastic. The portions were extremely generous - I was definitely full about 2/3 of the way through, so don't feel as if you have to eat everything. Truly spectacular afternoon with Mike exploring the food, history, and culture of Taipei! He even suggested a number of other places to try, including an incredible tea shop in Dihua Street. Overall, this was one of the best food tours I have experienced and it is definitely worth the price. I highly recommend Taipei Eats. As a side-note, I would suggest taking the tour early on in your visit to Taipei so that you can enjoy the rich and wonderful food culture throughout your visit.

I have lived in Taipei for years, but I have never went on a local tour. When my friends from abroad came into town, I thought I would give it a try with them because I heard many things and the reviews are so good. It was a slightly rainy day but the experience was still incredible. The tour guide, Quincy, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed many foods that Taiwan is known for and are only available in Taiwan. The other members of the tour were friendly and enjoyable to talk to. The time of the tour, 3.5 hours, made it good value and a complete "event" to put into our schedule. We had many "hidden" spots that I have never heard of or been to. A nice bonus was that we were emailed additional suggestions on places to eat during their stay in Taipei. Many of them are also on my list, so I know the rest were good. I highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting to Taipei!

Mike was amazing! We joined the Dadaocheng tour and it was was engaging, fun, filling and delicious. I appreciated how different all the foods were from one another. Everything from pork jerky to the best fish balls you will ever have (seriously) was something that we had not tried before and which showed us why Taipei truly is a culinary destination. Mike also shared a lot of fun historical facts and was super willing to answer questions. My only regret is not doing more food tours with Taipei Eats! I will definitely join them again if I visit Taipei!

I went on a tour hosted by Tina and it was absolutely worth every penny. The 4 hour tour went by very quick because we hit up so many places. Tina was very friendly and informative and made the tour very laid back just as if you are being guided around by a friend. All of the food spots were great selections and were all some of the best representations of those types of dishes. The variety was great too. This tour is highly recommended when visiting Taipei.

I had the great fortune of going on this tour last night with Diego and it is definitely one of my favorite tours I’ve ever done in my lifetime. He was so unbelievably knowledgeable about Taiwanese cuisine, and did a wonderful job of showing us all Taipei had to offer. He had such a great energy and made it a tour I’ll never forget. Highly recommend!

Amazing day with Mike walking and exploring markets, food stands and restaurants to get the full flavor of Taipei. Can’t begin to remember all we tried but included water caltrope, thousand layer scallion pancake, braised pork with peanut powder, cilantro and pickled mustard greens, betel nut, stinky tofu, winter melon tea, wheat vermicelli noodles with fish broth and large intestine, Japanese mountain yam with salted egg and Monster Ice shaved ice. Friendly and knowledgeable, one of my best days as a global traveler!

This was one of the top experiences of our trip to Taipei. Diego, our guide, was great! Entertaining and full of knowledge regarding the area and food. This food tour allowed us to try over 12 types of local food without feeling overwhelmed or having to make the tough choices between the hundreds of vendors. We did the Iconic tour, but would definitely do another if we end up coming back!

We went on the Iconic Food Tour with Diego on Christmas. It was absolutely amazing. Diego is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He took us to so many delicious spots, and encouraged us to try new things (like stinky tofu). We ate so many different dishes. I feel like I truly got a taste of Taiwanese cuisine. I would highly recommend this tour, but prepare to leave stuffed!

This tour was a highlight for us. Tina was exceptional and really showed the best parts of the Taipei food scene. When we travel, we want to eat and this tour allowed this. I also appreciated that this was on foot... you get to see so much more! Tina is passionate about her city and it shows. When we return, we will definitely do another tour. Thanks Tina

What an outstanding culinary experience this turned out to be! From my first email to Tina, to our last stop of our tour, everything went so smooth! Our guide Mike was an absolute legend, as he was so professional, with great inputs on each dish, as well as being very personable and very friendly. We ended up doing the Iconic Tour, which included roughly 10-12 dishes. We truly enjoyed the pace that Mike had, and he clearly explained what we were eating. The variety of food we had was great from soup dumplings, to stinky tofu, to Boba tea. I can't thank Tina and Mike enough for such an outstanding tour, you guys are awesome!

I did the classic tour in October 2023. I wanted to try foods unique to Tapei and learn about them as well. This tour provided everything I wanted, as well as being fun and informative. Our guide Tina was not only enthusiastic about Tapei’s food but very informative and helpful, even providing me some good travel tips for what to see and do around Tapei. The food stops themselves all provided great local food in spots I never would have found otherwise. Loved all the food except the stinky tofu, which just isn’t my cup of tea but I enjoyed trying it with everyone else on the tour. Definitely recommended for a fun and tasty afternoon.

I did the Taipei Eats Iconic tour yesterday with Tina and had a great time. Be forewarned, there is a lot of delicious food to try and there’s a fair bit of walking but that helps space out the experiences. Tina was friendly and knowledgeable and we also had a mixed fun group of people too. Highlight were the Betel nut juice, pork bun and duck pancake. Probably would give the stinky tofu a miss. Great to try once while you’re here though. Definitely value for money and I loved being shown stalls or shops I wouldn’t have walked into to try something local. I even received an email with more recommendations after the tour. Looking forward to the Night Market tour with them later tonight

This food tour was a real highlight of my trip to Taipei. Tina is passionate about food and passionate about Taipei. Over the course of a few hours you'll explore the city's cuisine from market food to local restaurants. My advice... come hungry! We were fed a crazy amount of food. Tina was great at accommodating food preferences and even if there were a few things someone was unable to eat it was no big deal because realistically you won't be able to finish every dish given the amount of food offered. I will definitely do another tour with Taipei Eats next time I visit the city.

The Taipei Eats Iconic Foods Tour was Fantastic, one of the best food tours I've been on in years of culinary-focused travel. I thought it was very well-curated and Tina was so knowledgeable in sharing Taiwanese culture and cuisine. Everything was a highlight from the dumplings in a family-run, no-English-name packed dumpling shop to noodles and guabao and Taiwanese tempura and sherbet , and despite personally feeling very challenged, stinky tofu! Unmissable activity if you're visiting Taipei.

The food tour of Taipei with Tina was fantastic. It was by far, one of the most pleasant tours of a city we have experienced. I would definitely recommend doing this tour if you are interested in local cuisine. Tina was pleasant, insightful and charming.

Tina is a wonderful guide to the off-the-beaten-path Taiwan delicacies which would be a shame to miss. Her personable, down-to-earth and informative manner is just the right touch when assisting newcomers to the treats of Taipei. So much good food (literally stuffed by the end!) and we hit so many of the highlights. Thank you, Tina - we could not have found and sampled so many Taipei treasures without your expert and efficient guidance! Each of the stops was yummy!

Highly recommended services by Mike! The tour was well planned and we made our way from stand to stand knowing that we will eat the most authentic local snacks in Taipei!

The tour was not only comprehensive and varied, but also super relaxed and fun. Tina was a thoughtful, patient, and interesting guide who allowed us to go at our own pace and answered all of our questions. She was very personable and friendly. I felt like I'd made a friend by the end!

An excellent morning tour of the traditional food and sights on offer in Dadaocheng / Dihua Street area with Jean and the 6 people on the tour with me (2 couples, 2 other solo travelers). In fact we had such a lovely morning as a group that Jean kept going an extra hour! I ate at places and dishes that I would never have ventured into walking around alone, so highly recommend this tour for showing me the delicious tastes and experiences out there as an intrepid and non-chinese speaking westerner. While I didn't love every dish, the majority blew me away and it was an overall encompassing taste of Taipei, as well as temples and history thrown in. We ended up eating 10 - 12 dishes, by the end we were sharing a couple plates as everyone was so full. My only criticism is that we did waste a bit of food, and perhaps knowing that it is a whole morning food tour with plenty of dishes, they ask some of the vendors to provide smaller portions instead of saying don't feel bad if you don't finish it. One point I was impressed at is how little cutlery/packaging waste we generated - most of the places we sat and were served with crockery and silver cutlery. It was also nice to have those little seating breaks on a walking tour. On that note, it was a bit of a drizzly morning, but that didn't impact us at all - so don't be put off by any inclement weather. Thank you for a wonderful, educational, tasty and fun morning Jean, and my fellow food tour buddies. Highly recommend this tour and would love to try one of their other offerings when next in Taipei!

Iconic food tour with Tina was amazing. Tina introduced everyone to local iconic foods and was able to provide recommendations of other food items to try. Tip for future attendees, skip breakfast as there's a lot of delicious food you'll be introduced. You will definitely not be left hungry by the end of the tour!

I had limited time during my solo trip to Taipei and knew I would be missing out on a lot of the good stuff. This tour was perfect for what I was looking for: locally beloved, unfussy and delicious food. Mike led our Night Market tour of Yansan market, which might be less famous than others but whose vendors are long standing family businesses. He introduced us to foods I’m sure I would never have tried otherwise, like smoked thresher shark, as well as outstanding versions of iconic dishes like oyster omelette. I believe there are three different tours currently offered. I’d do this again, or try one of the others given the chance to return to Taipei.

I did the old school food tour with Jean and had a great time. The food was all amazing and we went to areas that I wouldn't have been able to find on my own. I was definitely full by the end but Jean did a great job at letting us know how many stops we had left so we could pace ourselves. The fish balls were without a doubt the best ones I've ever had. I learned a lot about Taiwan and the culture and had a really wonderful time. Thank you Jean!

would highly recommend ! we did the iconic tour with tina and she was very friendly and welcoming. didnt get to take photos of the food as the tour was very immersive and you spent the time getting to know your tour guide and the people you’re with. a good idea is to not eat breakfast before the tour, as there are a lot of tasting dishes, some even considered a full meal, and you’ll be very full by the end. also wear very comfortable shoes because it consists of a lot of walking which helps you be more hungry for the next dish. overall a very fun and eye opening experience. it definitely made a good impression on what a food tour should be and was 100% worth it ☆♪

We had a wonderful tour with Tiffany. This tour doesn't focus on the trendy foods, but actually takes you to more traditional eats (and other things), such as betel nut and stinky tofu. There is also delicious food!

I had the loveliest tour guide ever / super knowledgeable and friendly and got to learn a lot about the Taiwanese culture and the history of Taipei. The food was delicious!! Highly recommended as the tour included places I would never discover on my own.

Our family had a great time with Mike on the Iconic Food Tour! The variety of foods that we had at the various local shops were delicious and different than what we would have been able to find on our own. Unfortunately the soup dumplings were sold out when we arrived to the last stop on our tour, but Mike was generous with his time and extended our tour by taking us to a dumpling place to make up for it. I also really appreciate that the Taipei Eats team was great when I was scheduling our tour. Originally there weren't enough spots to accommodate our family of four on the day that we wanted to take the tour, but when I reached out, they kindly scheduled a new tour that we would be able to join!
