Very excellent - every dish was good. Overpriced. When a group dines, the bread should be free, not $10NT for every very small slice. About $2000 / person with some wine

This is my fourth time visit but first time for lunch. Food quality was good, steady as usual, but the overall experience wasn’t that great today. I made a reservation for two and the server arranged our seats to the inner corner of the restaurant where a large crowd seating close to us. We could barely hear each other’s voice. After quickly finishing our meal, we realized that a few tables that were close to the front door and had beautiful natural lights were still empty. Too bad we didn’t ask assuming the restaurant was fully booked for lunch. The assumption came from the reservation confirmation text the day before, indicating that they’re going to have a busy lunch session. I wish I could ask or the server could thought for us to make this lunch time as good as how the weather was.

Very unique Portuguese food which totally deviates from my limited Portuguese food experience in Macau. What Tuga serves is more like Spanish tapas with different seasoning. Señor Carlos, the owner, is knowledgeable with wine and fine dining and of course his architecture. Dining experience at Tuga seems like dining in a museum or a library. Excelente. Moreover the wine selection here is impeccable 🍷.

The clams and wines are fresh and good. But, the Portuguese style risotto was cooked like congee. It was totally different compared to what I had in Porto. Also, the rice itself didn’t absorb the soups flavors, just pure rice. However, the service was quite good.

Been there many times. Consistent quality and interesting selection of Portuguese wine. Only once in a while will have not so friendly staff. Not so aggressive on taking reservations.

Good food good vibe, like they can separate different area in the restaurant by simple slide door or wine shelves, good place to share meal with friends or dirink wine.

Excellent cow tongue. It comes with (I guess) homemade fries that are also excellent! We took the spaguetti bolognese, don't know if that's the portuguese way to do it, but it was dry , we asked some olive oil (that they were happy to give) to compensate the dryness. Really nice atmosphere, like how they've structured the restaurant. Feels like a labyrinthe. They have a HUGE selection of wine they display all around. Will return to try their other dishes. Went for lunch , it was 600 NTD each.

First experience with Portuguese cuisine and I was blown away. Very tender meats, flavourful broths and good wine to pair with our dishes.

This is my first time to visit a Portuguese restaurant in Taipei and i enjoyed the food and wine here so much especially had a impressed experience for the tomato chicken gizzards & seafood rice. So delicious!! Only feel a bit crowded, however, i like their design of the space which combine the seat and wine storage. That’s quite creative!

Some of the beat food I've had in Taiwan. The octopus salad was really refreshing. Loved the fried Portugese meatballs. Filet Mignon was on point! Topped it off with chocolate moose and chocolate covered orange slices :). I highly recommend Tuga!

The food was cooked and presented well and the wine selection was extensive. The service was attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. The layout was very unconventional, almost like a wine store with shelving dispersed enough to place tables, but the effect was a sense of privacy (from our table each person could see no more than the edges or corners of 2 tables) and, in a pandemic, a greatly increased sense of security. Definitely try the caramelized oranges dipped in chocolate.

3.5 stars The complimentary bread, butter and their tuna/caper/mayo dip are amazing! We really enjoyed their appetizers--the clams "bulhao pato"style, garlic shrimp, spicy sauteed mushrooms with ham, chicken gizzard, and the green salad. The mains were a bit disappointing. All the codfish were sold out, so we ordered the roasted chicken with chilli and friend potatoes, alentejana pork and clams, and portuguese chorizo and peas stew with egg. The chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. The roasted potatoes are more like french fries but they could be fried one more time. The stew was overwhelming. The beef tongue was tender and delicious. We also ordered the seafood stew. It was soupier than what I expected but it was excellent. Overall, it was a enjoyable meal. It is a bit pricey. It looks like they have an excellent selection of Portuguese wines though we didn't sample any. Next time I think we will stick with the appetizers and order a couple bottles of wine instead. Oh and bring a sweater. It's a bit chilly here.

The mains were not that great as the chicken was very dry. Potatoes were soggy. I would love this place for the appetizers and wine selection. If I could it would be approximately a 3.6 stars for me. But for the appetizers and wine selection it is a much higher review.

Fantastic Portuguese food, great wines and perfect atmosphere. I like their own chilli oil a lot! This is as authentic as you can get in Taiwan. Also, it’s a wine shop so you can take a little Portugal home. Tuga has to be one of my favourite restaurants Taipei.

Second Saturday Social (A Taipei Dinner Party) had a terrific dinner on Saturday. We were a relatively smaller group, only ten of us, but we had a great time. The food was sensational — everything cooked in a cataplana, which is a traditional Portuguese pressure cooker with Moorish origins. There was so. much. food, and so. much. wine, we were all rolling somewhat drunkenly on our way out. One pleasant side effect of all the wonderful wine was that the conversation was also especially lively and fun. A special shoutout to Chef Nelson Santos who cooked up a storm for us, and also to owner Carlos E Couto for being such a gracious host and patiently explaining each dish as well as the paired wines for us. This is the second time that our group has visited TUGA, and it won’t be our last.

Very bright Mediterranean cuisine. We ordered green salad, fried peppers, and seafood risotto. All the ingredients are fresh. The salad Balsamic seasoning is simple just to the point. There’re tons of prawns, scallops, and mussels in the risotto. They have a good selection of Portuguese wine in the shop, which are a tad expensive.

This is the 2nd time in 2021 we visit here. The food is really awesome, no matter bread, appetizers, main course, or wine. The atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the service is really cozy and comfortable. Definitely one of the best restaurant in Taipei for date, for gathering, or just want a glass of wine.
