The place has a feeling of simplicity and serenity to it and thanks to the mountains in the background it appears to be a strong practicing environment. The temple is not "grandious" or "posh", something one might expect by looking at some pictures. Good place for self refection.

This Buddhist center is fairly easy to get to. A oasis in the middle of busy taipei city. Large campus with amazing architecture. There are some Buddhist lesson the day we visited. Not as quiet as I expected. Nonetheless, reflected pond with water lily still wins my heart. Parking is super easy. I live the double concert walkway by the parking. What a smart design. Not only obscure the car park, it also provide access every point along the car park. Making the walking as pleasant as it can be. Provide nice contrast with the big open area.

Beautiful building, natural and raw. Full of lines and square. At night time, the Lotus pond has beautiful reflection. It's open for public visit. There is a bookstore.

Nung Chan Monastery of Dharma Drum Mountain is a sacred place here in Taipei, where visitors could find their inner peace at such a peaceful environment. In addition to the ambient, visitors could also enjoy the architecture, but please keep this in mind not to disturb others and always be quiet here.

Walked in when it was drizzling. The sky was grey, exactly matching color with the temple coming into my eyes. What caught my eyes was not the sculptured wall of diamond sutra on the wall, but the serene air that showered me from head to toe. I didn't go into the building, but walked to the back where you will see most of the horizon is still alived with profile of mountain and outlines of trees! Especially on a rainy day like today, the best music is from within your heart that's playing a tune of silence!

What a great place to meditate to refresh and recharge your mindset. Per my friend, James’ suggestion, we cane over here to pay a visit. The simple but very zen like layout with zen atmosphere put together a harmony place for your spirit to mingle with sky and earth. The Buddha bible is over the building walls. The zen garden is also very relax oriented. Sitting by the pond to watch the water waves changes as the reflections vanishing as well. The “zig zag” on the side symbolizes on and off of our life. I shall come back to sit by the pond. In front of the temple to meditate more in the future.

A peaceful place. Love it! The building seems cool. I heard it was designed by a famous master. Love the design style, combine with Japanese and Taiwanese? Not really sure. Anyway, highly recommend, it is hard to find a peaceful place in noise Taipei.

Peaceful and serene. Recommend to walk to the temple rather than taking the bus. The stream is very clean and the sounds of the nature is bliss.

Nice and peaceful place to visit. It’s not that busy, mostly teenagers posing for instagram. You can walk around here for an hour or so and take some cute pictures. I used the Ubike to get here which I think is the most convenient from the close by mrt station (around 5 mins by bike).

Its spirit is based on 8th century Zen Master Baizhang Huaihai's aphorism, "A day without work is a day without food."

Religious spot at the outskirt of Taipei. Traditional Buddhism institution. There is a big monastery with Buddha and lady Buddha statue inside. The calligraphies on the wall are well crafted scriptures. The wide pond attracts many youngsters to take photos even though one is not coming for a prayer.
