We followed the trend and came to enjoy June's special "All you can eat Thai food" at Sukhothai restaurant. Food tasted as good as I remembered. Understandably portion is smaller than usual because it's all you can eat. Prompt service including "its time to go". For the first hour, food came to the table was fast. Then it slowed down quite a bit. Overall it was a good meal.

Rooms are tiny with tiny beds. Room stinks with mold smell. Front desk unresponsive and unwilling to help. Hard to get to with public transportation if you have luggage. Bunch of people just stand in front of hotel and smokes. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Really nothing near by, like a ghost town. It is close to the Taipei station...

Club lounge: Unfortunately the Hotel management takes benefits away that elite members are entitled to. Not even sure whether this is legitimate and in line with bonvoy policy. How can you completely refuse access to the executive club lounge on the ground that it is overbooked. Well then extend your service hours or offer alternatives. Is this an issue your guests should deal with or the Hotel management. If you are overbooked do not offer executive rooms. After a few days I only made it to the waiting list of the executive lounge and gave up temporarily as I felt like a beggar. Its ok if Titanium members are not allowed to enter...just state on your home page. Kids are not allowed at all, thus it you are traveling as a family. Write off the lounge. I saw kids sitting in front of the lounge waiting for their parents though??? Check in: No elite welcome gift recognition at check in, however I received a bigger room and relaised later also the 1000 points Service: was lacking in several areas. E.g. no chance to get a coffee served at the table. If you ask for cuttlery you are send to the restroom instead. Had to get cuttlery from a neighbouring table instead and to eat soup with a little coffee spoon. Luggage came to my room about an hour late and was pushed from the door into the room and left there (i.e. not arranged). One frying pan for omlettes for a hotel with almost 700 rooms. I spend just too much time waiting for an omlette every day (no table service - you stand in line). Breakfast closes at 10am. A bit early for weekends. Business center: is only open till 9pm. Then there is no location in the Hotel, where you would be able to take a call. For the kids area the Hotel charges extra...have you ever heard about that? Never ever did I experience a charge for kids to play in the kids area. The point I am making I choose Sheraton because I am loyal to this brand, but with this lack of service I might consider other options.

No room service. And can’t use restaurants after 8:30pm so if you’re planning a long day outside recommend to have dinner elsewhere before returning to your room (There’s basically no available places except McDonald’s btw.) This is a fairly inconvenient trait for a 5 star hotel like this one. Can’t say this was an impressive experience in that sense.

Booked this hotel during a quick visit to Taipei since it seems to be conveniently located close by Taipei Station. In fact, the exit of BL Line Shandao Temple stop is right outside the hotel, so making traveling across town so much easier. Travelers used to Asian 5-star hotels might find this hotel not luxury enough or whatever. May be my expectation is low, having stayed at many Marriott chains (including Sheraton) in North America, this hotel is top grade. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room clean and spacious. Don't even need to bring a power plug adapter, the power outlets support all plug types. The room has all the amenities and the bed and pillow very comfortable. The only dining experience I have is the breakfast buffet at the K12 restaurant (another review). I won't hesitate to come back given the location, ease of getting around and comfortable room.

Very good location of Taipei city center. Metro station just beside the hotel, one min walking distance. KFC, MCDONALD'S, Starbucks and other international food chain are very close. Room cleanliness, facilities was good. Complementary breakfast was delicious. Their staff attitude and service not good at all. Very unnecessarily they keep waiting their guest at lobby. Need to improve in these staff attitude. Otherwise everything is good 👍.

The hotel room is spacious and clean, with new facilities. The carpet is soft and clean. The front desk service is very attentive, and you can ask for help with any travel needs. You can also leave your luggage at the front desk. The breakfast is very varied, and I highly recommend trying it.

This hotel is unfortunately one of the worst Sheraton I have ever stayed at (and I have been to many Sheratons all over the world). The rooms are nothing special, the bathroom is nice so (even with a Japanese style toilet). But the windows are not good (you can hear the cars on the street easily and the same must be said about the room door. You can hear everyone who passes by and is talking. Not up to the standard of such an expensive hotel. The breakfast buffet is big, but for instance the fruit selection is not good at all. Also there is no fresh orange juice. We are in a tropical country, there should be more and better fresh fruits available. The swimming pool is very small and with no view (also it is on the top floor). It is ok when it is raining because then almost no-one else will come. Also the gym is tiny for such a big hotel. On the second night both room cards suddenly no longer worked, they said they were probably cancelled because the mobile key was activated. However this should not happen. The lounge is a joke since you have register to use it and the registration did not really work. Well, finally we didn't have time for the lounge anyway so I can not say how the lounge service would have been. I also did not like the soft beds (old?) and the quite noisy AC (although it was set to 24 degrees and low fan). Overall too expensive for what you get, won't come here again.

many rooms The bed is very good and the sleep is very comfortable Bathroom with bathtub and shower 🚿 Coffee bags and kettle are provided in the room The location is very convenient, MRT Shandao Temple Station is right in front of the hotel. There is a convenience store 🏪McDonald's 🍔 within a minute's walk and also have lots famous restaurant, like : 阜杭豆漿 (Taiwanese traditional popular breakfast) nearby 華山文創園區、雙月食品、興波咖啡☕️台北車站. There are a lot of people eating for breakfast, so may need to queue up, there are many different choices - japanese style, american style and Taiwan style.

What a wonderful hotel! The staff is very pleasant and ready to help. Awesome gym and sauna facilities - hottest steam room I've been in! The lounge is absolutely first class. A great selection of food and drinks to choose from. I had a sort neck and the staff brought me an ice pack in a towel - thank you for the caring service. The lounge can be busy and on some evenings making a reservation might be a good idea. Great rooms and a fairly priced mini-bar is a nice touch. My room had a battery powered massager which was fantastic.

I’ve stayed at the Sheraton Grand in Taipei on and off for the last 15 yrs when I visited Taiwan. While my past experiences were great, I was very disappointed this time. The services at the front desk were extremely slow. While the number of guests waiting keep lining up, there was no sense of awareness from the hotel mgmt to add staff to the front desk. Ironically there seems to be quite a few staff in the back room but no one came out to help the customers. The same situation happened again when I stopped by the front desk to ask a question. Again, the wait was long and while there seems to be staff at the concierge desk and in the back room, no additional staff came to support the front desk. Also, my room had a moldy smell. The refrigerator wasn’t cold and the remote control for the TV did not work. Lastly, when I ran out of lotion and q-tips in the room, the room service staff did not replenish those items, 2 days in a roll. I don’t think I’m coming back here in the future.

First impressions it felt a bit dated (pool is a bit dated) however once you experience everything it has to offer you won’t be surprised why it’s a 5 star hotel. Food and service is where this place excels. The rooms are very comfortable and a bidet is a must for every 5 star hotel!

Terrific, central location that is convenient to attractions, food, shopping, MRT, train station, high speed rail, and buses. Outstanding Titanium/Platinum benefits including an excellent breakfast buffet, afternoon tea, and cocktails. As a Marriott Titanium and Lifetime Platinum member with ~900 nights, this is one of the best value hotels that I have stayed at.

Great location and good service. Taipei main station is walking distance. Room is old but facilities and condition is still ok. If you need to airport or other cities on next morning, this is perfect place to stay. Subway is also very close, just in front of hotel.

2022/08/23. A terrible experience on checking in process, we spent around one hour and 10min on checking! Cannot believe it… I recommend you should have early preparation or more man power support it! Not just said that’s government issue… complicated procedure…! You cannot improve since problem is always not from you

Totally disappointed with the waiters and waitress at Kitchen 12. We asked for support to get a quiet corner for 7 people. The waitress simply ignored us. Then, the lead waiter took us to the location where he could have put 3 tables side-by-side for us to have a morning meeting while having a coffee. To our surprise, the lead waiter returned to greet other patrons (tourist group) and left 7 business patrons standing at the location. We had to ask the lead waiter why he left us unattended. He said he was busy with the tourist groups in support of other colleague. It appears that Sheraton Grand has shifted their focus away from business patrons and business customers. Just want to let everyone know Sheraton Grand has not reopened its business centre for meetings until end of Nov. Not sure it is open in Dec 2023. On the other hand, the rooms we stayed were good. housekeeping was great as well.

Had a lovely experience at the grand Sheraton Taipei. Staff was world class and the room was beautiful. Neighborhood was very well connected and there were good restaurants within a 10-15 minute walking radius. The experience was very quiet and the interior of the hotel was large and very impressive. Loved the granite bathroom. The only thing I'd say was the breakfast was not worth it. Otherwise fantastic large hotel.

Top hotel, always stay here when in Taipei. This is the first trip with family. The Good: - Got upgraded to a suite after a minor cleanliness matter in my original room. They threw in a free bottle of wine as well. - Generally clean, and quiet. - While busy since there are many rooms, they manage the crowd very effectively. - Really close to an MRT station (Shandao temple on the blue line) - Good selection at buffet breakfast. The stuff that can be better: - Had a minor cleanliness matter. A short conversation at the front desk had it sorted out very quickly. - Can be really crowded since its a large hotel. - Lifts can take a while to come due to the crowds. - Some mornings when the crowds are massive, you will have breakfast time allocated to you instead All in, pretty good hotel, albeit a little old and sometimes crowded.

A little dated as this is an older hotel. However it’s very clean, best part is the staff, professional and courteous. Location is awesome next to a shandao mrt station and walking distance to Taipei main station. Excellent breakfast and also has nice afternoon tea and dinner at the executive lounge. I would love to stay here again

The rooms are nice and seem to be recently refurbished. I saw a lot of pictures before I booked, and I was concerned the hotel was outdated. It was a great stay in a comfortable room and bed. The AC in the room worked well considering the heat. The breakfast buffet had a good mix of options as well. The only recommendation is to improve the fitness center. It's a bit limited for a hotel this big.

My stay in this hotel was not good. This hotel tries to sell off a more expensive room at the check-in spot to tired & confused guests, with a worse deal than what is listed on the Marriott app for members, while making all the transactions & fees unclear. A few days after leaving the country, you will be left with exorbitant charges, plus service charges (which on the Marriott app, is included in the overall cost you pay). There was no clarity at all about the cost of this “upgraded” room that they forced on me (this was almost coercive because they were saying that my original room would take hours to be available and that this “upgrade” is a better deal, etc.) nor the actual security deposit amount. I feel like I was overcharged, and would have chosen a different hotel with the price I paid, since this city has a lot of Marriott chains. Quite regretful that they would have a really bad service at this historical hotel.

The Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel boasts an excellent location, merely a block away from Taipei Station, with an additional subway station conveniently situated right in front of the hotel. The building's age is evident in its slightly lower ceiling height, which might create a sense of mild confinement. The service is commendable, with amiable staff at the front desk. Within the premises, you'll discover a selection of appealing restaurants. While the rooms exhibit a somewhat outdated design and would benefit from a renovation, they remain comfortable. The gym is not extensive and lacking 24-hour accessibility which is not convenient for all the guests. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience proves favourable for those exploring Taipei.

I always stayed this hotel whenever for business or leisure. Surprisingly they sent me a lovely birthday cake. The room was big enough for my family and me. Location was good for us to take train. Concierge service was great as they helped us to bring down to lobby with so many luggage. The only thing was too crowded especially during breakfast or taking the lift. Overall I was happy and would stay again.

  • 1/5 Chevelle L. 7 months ago on Google
Emailed the hotel prior to my arrival requesting for an early check in as well as some recommendations for restaurants, which most Marriott hotels or 5 stars hotels try to accommodate, especially for Bonvoy members. However the hotel staff - Candy Chiang was extremely rude in her email reply, she didn’t answer any of my questions and only highlighted the additional cost for early check in. Even 3/4 star hotels don’t charge extra for early check in, what a rip off. Can’t imagine how bad the service would have been if I actually stayed there.

  • 3/5 Amazing G. 7 months ago on Google
Basically a business hotel. Service is businesslike, good enough to get things done; don't expect too much warm hospitality or going the extra mile from a hotel that has no lack of guests. Some rooms are still looking dated, with central air conditioning that is either too cold at 23deg or bordering on stuffy at 24deg. The wind speed always seems high with a loud whirr, and it only responses slightly to fan speed adjustments. My room had a few dusty surfaces. Location is good if you are planning a lot of activities elsewhere. MRT station and interchanges are nearby but in terms of food, only McDonalds, 7-Eleven and Family Mart are within 3 min walk away. Exit 2 of Shandao MRT station is 50m away, staircase access only, so not good if you are lugging a suitcase. Exit 1 and 3 are alternatives across the roads.

This review is for the Guest House that has the tasting menus. Dress code is anything from casual to formal. We did the pine set option. It was good overall. They give you bigger portions than most tasting menus. I would have liked to hear the servers give explanations about each course, instead of just setting it down. We didn’t do the Michelin menu but many of the same items were also on our menu. The highlights for me were the first course that had 6 different items on the plate, Buddha jumps over the wall chicken soup, braised pork knuckle, and the sweetened almond soup with egg white and bird’s nest. The braided lobster was a little dry, a side of butter would have improved the flavor. Pan fried A5 wagyu was good but it didn’t melt in my mouth. The soon hock with scrambled egg in fish gravy was tasty but I was hoping for something more complicated. This is the kind of dish you can get on the regular menu not the tasting menus. This should be replaced with something more upscale. I would give the tasting menu a 3.5/5.

Don’t even have basic amenity like a box of tissue on table. Fresh towel with I don’t know is blood stain or feces stain. Executive lounge that doesn’t have enough sits to accommodate executive guests during Happy Hours. How can I be happy when I’m only given 60mins to relax and have a drink?

This is a lovely hotel centrally located in Taipei next to MRT Shandao Temple Station. The service is always top notch. The club lounge is available here and offers light meals. Nice selection of restuarants here with good amenities. Definitely one of the more frequent listed hotels for business travellers in Taipei.

First time here very impression of location. Very convenient to go everywhere by MRT train. Accommodation and service very well. A little but disappointed about here that concierge here give wrong information about meeting point of Sigh seeing bus and not updated! However everything is great.

This Sheraton has a very nice executive lounge. Its location is also very good. It is very close to the subway station. The bus stations are right in front of the hotel as well to help you easily take a bus ride if you would like to try to hang around like the locals.

Only complaint is the huge crowd for breakfast. Had to Q for 50min for 3 days and the crowd inside the restaurant turns you off as it looks like a market place with many people jostling for food and not a 5star hotel.

Both the services and rooms are awesome! despite of long line for check in, people easily get frustrated. Stil the front dest stuff are patient enough to handle with smiles. Can’t blame when the hotel was full house. The location vise, it’s convenient too. Close to station and Taipei station (台北車站). Easy to catch train or HSR.

the lounge is excellent, especially the food in breakfast and happy hours. Over 40 years old hotel but did remodel. it is kind of old style but it is still has good reputation. excellent customer services. I did request early check in but could not have it until noon time. central city location and near metro train station. taxi is always available on the front entry.

Terrible experience today at Sheraton meeting a friend who is hotel guest. Breakfast buffet staff speak to customers rudely, lack a proper customer service attitude. Juice dispenser is faulty, juice came flying out away from cup and onto customers clothes. Sidewalk from MRT to hotel entrance is construction zone again, seems to be a periodic occurrence on this part of Zhongxiao East Road. Room rate among highest in Taipei, but better value for the money at other 5-star hotels.

I frequently stay at various Marriott brand hotels. The front desk cancelled my reservation and had me call the Marriott global desk on my personal cellphone before resolving the issue. The lack of communication at the front desk may be an incidental experience, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend it especially if traveling with infants.

  • 5/5 Ian M. 1 year ago on Google
Sarah Yang provided phenomenal service to our group! The front desk was very accommodating and I was able to use the app to get some extra hangars for my room and a chair switched out to make working from the hotel much easier. Would highly recommend.

We stayed nearly for a week with lounge access, overall we enjoyed staying there. Lounge: The food was better than expected. They serve some different food every day. However, they require prior reservations for dinner time slots. (They say it is only for busy season) On the day we arrived, they told us it's already full. Also, we have to submit the google form during their designated period of time for reservation every day, which was very inconvenient. No sandals for men allowed there, you will be sent back to the room. Room: Very clean, and so was the bathroom, except for the shower head. It looks like it's never been cleaned. It would have been better if i dont have to face the toilet when taking a bath, but unfortunately, it was designed that way. We didn't find 17th floor concierge very helpful, but the ground floor concierge was super helpful. They know more stuff around Taipei. Very convenient location, a few min walk to the subway, and the bus stop is in front of the side exit. I feel like this is the cleanest hotel around there, and we are glad to stay there.

Fantastic few days in the Sheraton Grand Taipei. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The room I stayed in was amazing, not stayed in better. Indonhave to say that the breakfast is something special, english, Chinese, Japanese and continental all of a very high standard.

The room is good and bed is very comfy. Love the digital key via mobile as booking directly from Marriott. As we check in early so we need to leave the luggage. But when we come back in the evening and there is a line at check-in so I can use digital key right away. Close to mrt. But the guest lift is the same lift to the restaurant on top floor, so the lift feel crowded and not that private. But all stuff was lovely and make us feel welcome all the time

Fancy! An excellent choice for a luxurious stay in Taipei to have the Eastern hospitality experience. Stayed here for a night as a part of a tour guide and it was great! The rooms are nice and tidy, with a huge restroom that has both a tub and a shower. Several included drinks, including water, tea, and coffee, along with the standard overpriced hotel room minibar, which had alcoholic beverages. The part that stood out the most was the dinner and breakfast buffet experiences. A wide variety of food, accommodating servers, and excellently decorated dining area. There are also other included benefits, like a spa, pool, and gym. I only got to use the gym, which was decently sized. Overall, would highly recommend!

5 stars hotel, part of Marriott BonVio series and they deserved 5 stars ratting for their excellent services. However, the only complaint that I have, the lobby have very limited seating area, most of people like us have to standing there for a long while. Too crowded. The limited space also impacted by the Cafe waiting line, should have experts to redesign the moving line.

Absolutely tip top, but service stands out! Front desk staff Angela went the extra mile to help us when we dropped a phone on a taxi and followed up all the way until we recovered the phone. Very kind service; definitely will return! :)

Terrible Club Lounge experience. Front desk staff not friendly and not very helpful. Poor elite recognition. The only positive is the staff at the fitness facilities was very cheerful, and the hotel is located right at the subway station. Will stay at another Marriott next time.

The room was cozy and had plenty of spaces. However it was too humid and could not stay without a dehumidifier. Restaurant had good food with ample choices of cuisine. I recommend asking for a window seat.
