Sorry have to change my rating from 5 to 1. Due to three major facility issues found in 1809. - The window in 1809 has serious noise issue during the rainy days. I was awaken by this noise at 4 am and had to move to another room during the night. The twin room they arranged to me was really quiet and had no drumming raining noise at all. - The shower head on the ceiling is broken too and keeps leaking. When shower have to carefully avoid the cold water drips from the center which is really annoying. - Speaker volume is not fully functioned. When they moved me to another room I was surprised that the speaker was much louder and fully functioned compared to 1809 which can be hardly heard even with the fullest volume. Despite that I have stayed the poorly equipped room for five days already, they didn't upgrade my room or provide any kind of compensation. And still had to pack my stuff in the morning to move to different room regardless with only 4 hour sleep. Poorly equipped room should never be considered for Guest to check in. This was something not expected from a 5 start hotel.

Stayed here for the first time. Excellent location. The room is good. Ran at the gym at 530am (it's open 24hrs). Breakfast buffet starts at 630am and the spread is great. No issues on checking and out. Only thing was the I could not get an hour extension for late check out (an hour after 12 noon) as the staff said the hotel is fully booked.😥. Will stay again for my next work trip.

Booked at the W for my honeymoon and when we arrived, found that the lobby was totally under construction. Sawdust dropping in my hair and too much noise from power tools to even make a call to switch to a different hotel. I get that construction needs to happen but don’t charge the same very high nightly rates while that is happening, and maybe give guests a heads up if construction this will be ongoing during their stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we are paying for a 5 stay experience. That said, staff was very nice and helpful. Wish we could’ve stayed.

It’s my first time to stay in W Taipei, and probably the last time. 1. the car parking of W Taipei is really an issue. The parking lot is shared with the mall, therefore, we took lots of time more than we expected to park smoothly. 2. The service of the front desk is not well. Actually, almost all your crews are not friendly. It’s not a five star hotel service level. You may check the google maps comment. 3. The furniture of the room is not well maintained. The bed and the table are all wore. 4. The dining area is too small for all the guests. The time to have breakfast is limited only in one hour and you charged high price of the meal. 5. We missed an tshirt in our room. The hotel did not inform us immediately while they finished the housekeeping. Till the mid night of the check out day when we finally have time to unpack our luggage at home, we found out we missed one shirt in the hotel. We called by ourselves to check with the hotel. It is not the service we looking forward in W Taipei which is a famous 5 star hotel. We spent lots of money try to enjoy a great birthday in your hotel. In the end, we spent lots of time to complain about it. Hope you may take serious of the opinions from the sincere feelings.

Location ok but hardly a 5* hotel for the price. A lift ride to the reception, you arrive at what appears to be a temporary reception as if a renovation was going on, including furniture that appears to be from a dumpster, but kudos for recycling. Check in experience is quite slow and not terribly friendly. Room is adequate but nothing special, mould in shower isn’t a good look! Massive unit on bench in the room for amenities but it has nothing and just takes space. The “Surprise Me” cupboard did surprise me, nothing but a pack of cashews and a corkscrew! Worst of all is the evening desk with the staff, asking for a later checkout, an hour, but a pure power trip response and rejection, for a Monday, not generally peak time! Reception manager has no idea on client service and accuses of poor language to the staff, interestingly when asked what was said she responds that she doesn’t know as wasn’t there! Their behaviour was disrespectful in the extreme, have never experienced such poor service anywhere in Asia and certainly the worst experience of the many stays I’ve had in Taiwan. This hotel is trying to be cutting edge but it misses the mark considerably. Plenty of better options in Taipei where client service is a focus.

Outdated decor and furniture. Oldest TV installed and not even working. Extremely poor customer service, and that’s if anyone ever picks up your phone calls. Breakfast is a zoo. Good luck if you happen to have a suite with a connecting room - you may just end up with a neighboring kid screaming non stop at midnight. (Called downstairs 3 times and nothing was done). Stayed here multiples times before Covid and this hotel has seriously deteriorated in the last few years.

Poor accommodation experience. The customer service was arrogant and regret to stay at this hotel so much :( There are plenty of five star hotels near by, trust me, pick them or choose others! You will thank me for that

Room is OK. It is clean. But, the staff at the WET bar was not very friendly when my wife and I were just taking pictures at the entrance. I also didn’t feel any hospitality from the staff at the front desk when I asked the location of the business center. The staff that served us at the kitchen table the next morning should remember to smile. Yes, your staff at the kitchen table should smile more. They all look very busy and tired, and it is just 8 am. One hour policy for the breakfast is ridiculous.

Our stay at this property was fantastic. The staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcomed and valued from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was truly amazing, and we were blown away by the stunning views from the property. As an Ambassador member we used our points and we were thrilled to be upgraded to a Marvelous Suite using our suite night awards. Although the pool area was relaxing, we noticed that some of the chairs could have been a bit cleaner. The food and breakfast were great but the cocktails were average. However, what really stood out was the exceptional service we received. We were celebrating my birthday, and the Manager, Karen, went above and beyond to make our stay even more memorable. She sent up a cake and thoughtful cards to our room, which was such a lovely surprise. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely choose to stay at this property again.

Service was exceptional. Location perfect. Our first room on the 21st floor smelled musty at best and quite moldy at worst. We switched rooms to a lower floor and was better but smell still present. Not sure what’s going on, we’ve traveled all over Asia in the summer when it’s hot and humid and haven’t experienced this. We LOVED everything else about this hotel. Breakfast buffet is superb.

Wanted to book 2 rooms: 1 room - king sized bed 1 room - 2 single beds However, on the site, only rooms with king sized beds were available. Hence, I wanted to clarify if there was an option to change the King sized beds to 2 singles. Called twice to W hotel and got transferred to the Marriott global room reservations hotline, to which I was on the waiting line for 1 hour!??? Seriously? Called W hotel again and front desk wanted to transfer me AGAIN. I mean, wouldn’t the hotel staff, who is working for the actual hotel branch, knows the hotel better than global room reservations? I’ve stayed at other branches of W before and the rooms, facilities and hotel ground staff are amazing. But I really something can be done about providing hotel related information instead of transferring everything to the Marriott group hotline.

Pretty disappointing, hotel feels old and rundown for a 5 star hotel. Shower fixtures are dated, rain shower drips cold water on you when using the main showerhead, hose connection for main showerhead leaks water when used. LED strip lighting peeling up on top of cabinets, bed frame marked and scuffed. Buffet breakfast is rather limited even compared to Australia (which is saying something because normally buffet breakfasts in Asia are 5 star). Staff seated me at a table with food still on the floor, hair and crumbs on both seats. Staff members literally bumping into you while you compete with other guests in the small buffet serving areas One staff member for some reason was helping themselves to pastries with their hands rather than the tongs (why staff are taking food at the buffet, I don't know.) They awkwardly asked if I would like anything after seeing them do this, which felt really forced. It's just not quite at the level you'd expect, apple slices in the "fruit water" jugs turning brown at 9.30am for example. The ashtrays in the pool areas full with cigarettes and the tables not cleaned at 10am. Smoking area at the front of the first floor again filled with cigarettes, where all guests have to walk past. One day I went to the buffet breakfast to simply get coffee, after ten minutes of placing my coffee order I just went up and asked again myself for one to go. I then went downstairs to the pool area to have a cigarette, ashtrays overflowing and unchanged again at 10am, where I had a staff member ask me if I brought the coffee from outside as I can't bring in outside drinks. Staff can't even recognise their own coffee cups. Staff did accommodate with a 1pm check out, which was nice. Definitely had a better stay at Hotel Resonance Taipei, a 4 star hotel, but at least it isn't trying to project that it is 5 star when it isn't, like W. I think this hotel is living off a reputation of the past. I understand these issues may seem small, but not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. I definitely wouldn't stay again. Cost was NT$40,000+ for three nights.

W Taipei lives up to its name in design, room, facilities, cleanliness and the whole vibe. Location is okay but in business district but I don't mind. What I found is that the staff here still lack a lot of service mind. I can always hear loud door banging noises outside my room, at first I've always thought it was the other guests but 3-4. times I've gone out to inspect I can see the cleaners banging the room doors really loud and dragging their carts, pushing it into the wall with banging sound and dragging the vacuum cleaners around the hallway loudly. Constant banging and stomping noises I can hear happening outside my room. **But the worst part are the Pool Staff!!! 2 chubby Chinese guys. They are super rude! I've always enjoyed going to the wet decks at W hotels because staff are super friendly. At W Taipei, they don't bother to greet guests at all or offer anything. When I asked them to set up a lounge chair because it was covered they had a very rude look and unwelcoming glance at me , and gave the okay "nod" which I think is not correct customer service at all!!! So funny because Taiwanese service people are super friendly! I've never encountered this experience, its like I was asking them for money. No wonder the pool wasn't busy and had no W vibe because of these 2 staffs. I think the hotel should fix this problem asap. I'm super disappointed with the pool staff most, the others I can tolerate!

People are a bit rude but of course there are exceptions with people being nice and helpful. Its okay i understand every country has stereotypes and we Indian's haven't left a great impression. So yeah, it is what it is ... But let's say you are not an Indian. This is actually a nice hotel. Must stay.

I booked two separate nights at this well-known hotel in Taipei. During my second stay, I encountered unexpected issues with the service. I had reserved two rooms for both stays, and during check-in, I was informed that the rooms were on different floors. To have them on the same floor, I was told to pay room difference fee for both rooms. To my surprise, I was informed that the only way to have both rooms on the same floor was to pay an additional charge for each room. What puzzled me was that one of the originally assigned rooms was already on the same floor, and I was not given a clear explanation by the staff regarding the discrepancy. Later, I learned that the room in question had received a complimentary upgrade, and the request for rooms on the same floor now incurred additional charges, although this was not adequately communicated to me. Additionally, there were noise disturbances in my room at 10pm due to noisy neighbors, which I reported to the front desk with no resolution. The same issue occurred again at 6am the next morning. Overall, my experience fell short of my expectations at the W Hotels, and I believe such issues should have been handled more effectively.

The best staff, location, & breakfast buffet. I took my daughter back to Taiwan to unite with her birth Mom. Wanted an amazing hotel for an amazing life event. The W did not disappoint. The amazing staff helped us navigate all our needs. Special mention is Laurence Li who was the most helpful with our stay. He had answers for every question & helped direct us thru the Taipei maze. Thank you W for a most memorable stay!

My favourite hotel in taipei, great location, and excellent service. Great gym with plenty of equipment for fitness lovers and a big yoga room for yogi or just stretching. Easy to walk to those shopping malls surrounding or walk to local shops, small cafes, massage places and restaurants etc.

One of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed at around the world. Everything was top notch from the rooms, the bed, the thoughtfulness of the staff and facilities, the unbeatable location to nearby shopping/food/transportation, the amazing buffet breakfast every morning. No requests were too hard for them. Customer service was wonderful and goes above and beyond. The managers and leaders of each section of the buffet breakfast were outstanding in looking after us and other hotel guests.

I have had some bad experiences recently in very high end hotels, but not at the W. I got more for less !!! I am not sure whether it is a function of Taiwanese culture but every single staff member was looking to help the guests. Lots of eye contact, so we were always served in rapid fashion or helped when needed without having to look far. The hotel is hip and boutiquey if you like that feel. The standard room is quite compact but that is not a problem and the location of the hotel plus the view make it all worthwhile. Strongly recommended.

Lovely hotel with a switch for everything you can think of. Drapes, lights, toilet flush all came with a switch. 24/7 in room dining available for those jetlagged and needing midnight snacks. Complimentary bottles of water which were replaced daily. The toiletries were helpful and also replaced as needed. Good quality Bluetooth Bose speaker came in the room as well. The hotel staff are super helpful and speak English. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The bar is great, the breakfast isn't worth the price though. The bathroom had both a tub and two showers - one hand held type and an overhead shower. The odd part was you couldn't use the shower while in the tub, you needed to be on the shower floor next to the tub. Your hotel room key only allows you on the general floors and your own floor. Everything else was perfect. I fully recommend this hotel. It was an amazing experience.

    1. It's very accessible. 2. 101 view is a magnificent view. I recommend making a reservation for 101 views. 3. The food at breakfast is various, delicious, and pretty. 4. I heard that accommodation in Taiwan is generally small. But the room was big enough. And it's comfortable. 5. The staff's response was kind. They didn't forget to prepare the additional pillows I ordered. 6. It's clean. 7. The hotel has a good concept of W. They capture the customer's sight and hearing. Delicate guests can recognize that this hotel has even cared about the sense of smell.

The location is excellent and WooBar is really nice - we love the cocktails and DJ! HOWEVER, this was not a good experience we expected for a 5-star hotel - somehow we were told there was a system error during check-in, the front desk couldn’t find our booking (not sure if there was an overselling). We were just standing there and waited for over 40 minutes to get this problem fixed which was not my problem at all. Also since we made a reservation of a restaurant outside, we then needed rushing to there to make sure we were on time and would not lose our table. I don’t think this kind of problem is acceptable especially it is obviously resulting from a lack of communication internally. The front desk is nice though, just was still disappointed and not my expectation for a W hotel in any reason.

Luxury and comfort. The rooms are spacious with great views. With one of the major malls below, this is a great place to stay. The morning breakfast is great. Truffle omelets and freshly processed fruit juices make it a great way to start your day. The bar on the lobby level is very posh and classy.

Rooms was pretty good with the view of 101. However you will notice that the hotel rooms are not really that clean. Could be better for W hotel standard compared to internationally.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Rooms very spacious, great service, friendly staff. Amazing amenities from the gym to the sauna. Pool was great and location was terrific. Connected to the mall and metro with underground paths so you don’t even have to go outside if the weather is bad and can easily access all the shopping areas around town. It’s also right in the middle of Taipei night life with several bars and clubs within walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here while in Taipei.

I have been a Bonvoy Platinum member for many years and stayed at many Marriott properties. I just had the worst check in experience ever with the W Taipei. I asked to speak with the manager who turned out to be just as cold and unhelpful - I guess no wonderful the people working under her are so bad. The experience was so bad that I decided to just cancel my reservation and move to the Grand Hyatt a few blocks away. They were very busy but accommodated me immediately with my last minute reservation. The W staff needs to learn how to treat their customers better with empathy and respect. Will not book with W again.

This hotel is located in the shopping district and convenient and within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars in the area. Customer service is very nice and friendly, and the room also has an amazing city view. Good job... W Hotel.

One of my most favourite hotels, the rooms are large and beautiful and offer a spectacular view of the city. Their beds and pillows are super comfy and the bathrooms spectacular. The location of the hotel is awesome, with malls, restaurants and bars walking distance away. There's also a train station just around the corner making it super convenient to get around.

This is our first time staying at the W hotel and we like it! We originally thought this wouldn't be a kids' friendly hotel but we were wrong. They are friendly with kids and the rooms were new and clean. We had a great time at the wet bar (yes, with the kids before 9pm)! Location wise, you can't get better than this.

Had a wonderful stay at the W Taipei. The staff were all lovely: before arrival, at the check-in desk, at WOOBAR, housekeeping, and at the desk downstairs. Karen the loyalty manager made our stay feel extra warm and special by remembering our requests and preparing a handwritten card for arrival. Better than average loyalty recognition. Large breakfast spread with many good options, a bit hectic especially during the weekend but they try their best and things were moving and getting replenished. One of the biggest fitness centres I’ve ever seen, taking up basically an entire floor of the large hotel. We stayed in a marvellous suite and it was excellent and larger than a typical suite at other hotels. Great central location, connected indoors to the MRT. Wish they made the elevator music playlist public as well. Hope to come back again.

Presently hotel is undergoing renovations and it is super annoying to take two sets of elevators to our room. Checkin was great as the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast buffet was included, and it was the traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Room attendants were super nice and did a great job in the rooms.

Another excellent W experience! Stayed there with my wife and got a room with Taipei 101 view - what an experience! Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and superior room cleanliness. Also the Bose in-room system was a nice add-on which we enjoyed using. Will come again

If you like vibrant colors in a sophisticated setting, then you'll love this hotel. Honestly, I was initially put off by this hotel based on the pictures posted on its website. Usually the images are much better on the website and worse in person, but this hotel seems to be the opposite...clownish in online photos but very well-designed, classy and modern in person. Essentially, this hotel has now made me re-think this brand, and I will purposefully seek it out in the future.

The service was great, and all the staff were courteous and helpful. There were some issues during checking in or out due to the ongoing LGBT celebration. The crew handled it well. We love the location here, and the department stores across the street have all the restaurants, shops or outdoor bars we need. It was a fun experience!

Great location but the trendy interior design is slightly outdated. The breakfast buffet was great but between the reflective slates everywhere and meandering layout, it was difficult to find certain food sections. Service was top notch though!

We ran into some trouble during our check in. The hotel didn't have enough rooms ready on time and it took 2 hours to get into the correct room. Although I'm not 100% satisfied with this check in experience but this hotel does have great view and I appreciated that.

Lovely hotel, unique design and trendy rooms. Our suite had plenty of water, a sleep sound machine, Bose speaker system in the living room and bedroom, nice toiletries, and a wonderful view of Taipei 101 and the Xinyi district. Afternoon tea was expensive but uniquely Taiwanese. Worth the cost for the atmosphere and view. Breakfast was delicious-lots of options and airy with mask rule enforced. We were surprised with a NICE bottle of wine, brownies, and sparkling water in the evening, free of charge in our suite. Nice touch.

We had a great time at the hotel. We originally planned for a one night stay but it was just too hard to leave after only one night. So we decided to stay one more night! The rooms are nice. The service was perfect. Instead of trying to find restaurant that can see 101. We end up just order room service in our room with a view. Cant wait to go back again.

W hotels are one of my faves in the world. The swimming pool here is amazing. The breakfast is great too with lots of options. The interior is old and definitely needs some polishing. The quality of staff work isn’t consistent. The hotel doesn’t go an extra mile for their loyal customers which is a bit disappointing.

The room is quiet and cozy, the view is good. The elevator is fast with good design. Only one pity is that we could not take what we want for breakfast due to the COVID19. I was told I have only one hour for eating, and I have to wait for about 20 minutes until someone take my order. When I starting eating my breakfast, I have only about 30 minutes to finish my meal.

The service was great and room was very comfortable. Will definitely want to come back next time when visiting Taipei. Reduce 1 star because of its restaurant- The kitchen table. I have never heard of any restaurants in a five star hotel would restrict customers to leave in an hour ( from the time you reserve, not from the time you sit down, so when they are busy and you waited a long time to be seated, you lost those time too). The attitude of the servers was horrible and everything was a mess. We even had to asked three times to get the juice they forgot to give us. DO NOT recommend

The hotel was amazing and gave the vibe of vegas. The staff were the nicest, the porters at the gate were very nice. Agnes at the bar was so kind, she helped me get around Taipei and even gave me a map. Jacob from the concierge was our hero, I had lost my phone in the taxi and he tracked down the driver and got my phone back. I wanted to get local sushi, he told me his favourite local restaurant. He was our knight and shining armour. If I had rated the 3 stars, after Joann saved me I would rate it 10 star. If you are wondering, the restaurant is 4 mins away and it’s name is sushimitei

Pleasant and very accommodating staffs you have there W Taipei. What’s the word to use……….Wow!!!!!! This will always be an experience that won’t be forgotten. Continue the great service everyone. The room : Ready for stay and would give the staffs another ⭐️ . Room weren’t dusty or with lots of lints flying around , compared to most of other hotel stay experiences . Kids and adult as well , just be mindful of the sliding doors as well as the rooms door. ( Those fire safety door is pretty heavy and the sliding ones , well they are into a trend nowadays. Take care of your feet 👣) It’s a well located staying place . Easy access for food and transportation as well. The best part, it’s near 101 Taipei building .

Great hotel overall. You are paying unique hotel design with the 5-star experience. The room is very spacious and equipped with good amenities. There’s a surprise me section which I did not get surprised. A tote bag and a bag of snack which cost $300NT and $200 NT respectively. I think if you want to surprise people at least put a complementary small thing or a writing card I will be more surprised. Lol Even though it’s a 10 year old hotel. Everything is well maintained. I have never seen a busy hotel window so clean before. Location, facilities and services are all great. Might need more reception to cope with the peak hours. If I ever have extra money. Would definitely stay again. It’s a vibe here!!! (For younger crowds though.)

Nicest hotel I've stayed at in Taipei. Service was great. Rooms were nice and clean. English friendly. Location was good. I highly recommend and would definitely stay there again in the future.

I cannot rave enough about this hotel: 1. Service Way above 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2. Room 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3. Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4. Woo Bar ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5. Breakfast ⭐️⭐️ For me, I personally think the food isn’t great and not many choices But their customer service, is VERY VERY GOOD!! From concierge to check-in counter staff, to cleaners. They are all VERY POLITE, HELPFUL and RESPONSIVE. I’ll be back again next time! For sure!

Would have given 5 stars if not for the soft bed. Service's impeccable and the breakfast buffet is as good as it comes. Great location to prime shopping and Taipei 101. Gym is functional and spacious, and I like the hot and cold water dips in the bath area (take note you need to exchange your hotel card to get a token to tap in) Will definitely visit again when I'm back in town - especially if you are on Marriott status for a sweet upgrade

Favourite hotel in Taipei - can’t get any better in terms of location. It was a very comfortable stay, we had no issues whatsoever. Breakfast buffet was 👍. We stayed in a room with “city views”. Gym and spa facilities were also great. Staff were very accommodating with our early check in (10am) and late check out (4pm) given our Platinum Elite status.

Very sweet and nice service. They gave us a delicious birthday cake and a cute birthday card when I told them we are celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday. We didn’t prepare a lighter but they even came to our room to light the candle for us. One minor drawback is that swimming pool might be crowded in the afternoon. It took us some time to find an empty space to put our towels and stuffs because all recliners had been taken.
