Great location close to the Taipei Metro Station. Look for the exit M5 or M6 it is around 500 meter away from the exit. Rooms is clean and breakfast is provided. Near by with continence stores and bars which operates till 2 am

Highly recommended for excellent value! We opted for a private room facing the north gate with a breathtaking view. The breakfast is basic, limited to toast and jam, but better than nothing. Fresh towels weren't provided automatically during our 4-day stay, and catching someone at reception was challenging due to our busy schedule. Despite these minor issues, I wholeheartedly recommend this place for its overall great experience.

Amazing place! Best location, steps from Main Train station, buses, shops, night markets, restaurants and supermarket. I spent 2 weeks here, having free delicious breakfast everyday with at least 3 fruit options, toast, cereal, coffee, tea all with a nice view of Taipei from the big window . The common area is very relaxing, with big windows that makes the North Gate view spectacular day and night. The rooms are spacious, have everything you need, especially the view of the city is breathtaking from there, the bathroom is nice and clean . All day there is free coffee and tea, I was able to prepare my own food in the common kitchen area that has fridge , microwave and stove. It’s a beautiful place to meet fellow travelers, locals and pick a book from the shelf to read. There are many flyers and information about the city and surroundings, things to do , maps and tour information. Mayrooms has dryer and washer for extra charge which is very convenient too. The owners are very friendly , helpful and nice. Tim , the receptionist is very friendly too, hard worker, speaks English and always happy to help and answer questions. It’s great to work everyday with a view like this. I also used the ubike to get everywhere ,very cheap with easy card , tap and go no app no phone number needed, just use the actual card. I had an amazing time , I will definitely be back when in Taiwan . Thank you for your warm welcoming.

A nice, simple place for a short stay. Fair prices, clean rooms. The private room was bright and had its own private toilet. I booked this hostel because my flight arrived late in the night and my hotel did not allow late check-ins. I booked May Rooms in advance because of this and planned to stay there for one night before moving on to my hotel. I contacted the property to confirm I would be able to check in between midnight and 1am and was assured it was no problem, further there would be no extra charge for it. I was very pleased and looking forward to my stay. It was raining when I arrived and despite finding the hostel - not terribly easy, the signage was poor - the door was locked and nobody responded to my ringing. We had no internet, no phones and felt stranded. We walked to a neighboring hotel in desperation. We were planning to just call it quits and stay there but the member of staff helped us a lot - he actually went online, got the phone number of May Rooms and phoned them himself. He spoke to a member of staff and then walked us back to the door, where we were greeted by a woman. She was very dismissive about not answering the door before and when I explained we had written confirmation of our check in time, she just shrugged. I don’t know where the wires got crossed - maybe because we booked through a third party website? - but we were tired, wet and a bit stressed by it all. I totally understand staff need their sleep and that the hostel has working hours but our arrival time was clearly communicated and confirmed. If I’d have known it would have been an issue, I would have booked elsewhere for the night. When we got into our room and settled for bed at 2am, people began chatting in the lounge and we could hear it clearly from our room. That being said, the room itself was nice. There was a double bed on the floor and a single raised above it. The sheets were clean and the mattresses comfortable. It’s in an excellent location, transport wise. The wifi worked well and the toilets were clean, too. I recommend bringing ear plugs.

Very nice hostel in a perfect location close to multiple MRT stations and right next to the north gate. Super clean with friendly staff, calm ambience and free breakfast. Perfect if you want to stay close to Ximen but in walking distance to the main station.

The room is small and narrow, with only public bathroom and shower room to use. The service is very good. I came to the hostel later than their working hours but the staff waited for me to check in. The property owner also provided useful information in Taipei and sent best wishes on my travel forward.

Awesome place with cool view to see the antique building also good music and comfortable public area. Reasonable price and really close to the airport airline. Staff are really nice and helpful for the tourist information. Strongly recommande for the stay in Taipei.

The people are thoughtful and friendly, and guests are treated as family members of May Rooms. Guests were invited to spontaneous events organized by the staff, such as a diner party for a departing staff member or for grabbing lunch with the staff. The facilities are clean and the interior design is cozy, but most importantly, the people make you feel as if you are home.

I really like the spacious mixed dorm, the curtain and its vibe.

A very cute and cozy hostel with friendly staff. 10/10 would stay here again. 100% recommend. There's also a public guitar for use, which is pretty awesome.

Well, property is clean and has all amenities you might need. Also, stuff is nice and helpful. BUT Twin rooms are tiny and have no locks on the door. Overall property give a feeling of the giant clean dorm. It’s also a bit pricy... and no privacy ...

I love this place! i sleep on the dorm and my feeling is quiet, easy access, feel safe, small locker for your value stuff. the hostel is new and cosy. Dorm is spacious, bed is very good, i sleep very well. shower is sharing but its clean and all facilities. about staff they speak english and god thanks. I feel like home at mayrooms

This is my first time travelling abroad. May rooms hostel is very nice abd warm that make my feel like i am stay at home. I like this place. All staff are very kindly and nice. They manage everything in easy way. I am be pleased and thank you for very good time and experience.
