Hi
Tech
Hostel
with
fast
WiFi,
spacious
communal
space
&
free
stuff
The
capsules
to
sleep
in
are
plenty
big
enough,
and
each
guest
is
provided
with
two
lockers,
one
in
the
capsule,
one
just
outside,
both
operated
by
the
card
that
opens
the
sliding
doors
to
the
hotel.
The
doors
shut
automatically
so
keep
a
tight
hold
on
this
card.
The
reception
closes
between
3
and
7am
ostensibly
(in
fact
longer)
so
if
you
got
up
during
this
time
to
go
to
the
toilet
and
forgot
your
card
you'd
get
locked
out
of
your
capsule.
There
is
free
WiFi
throughout
which
is
fastest
in
the
capsules
and
first
floor
book
and
and
coffee
area.
Books,
coffee,
tea,
and
cookies
are
free.
I
did
not
buy
carbs
during
my
stay!
I
cooked
veg
in
the
kitchen,
ate
it
in
the
very
spacious
3rd
floor
lounge,
where
there
is
a
television,
free
PCs,
free
condiments,
coffee,
microwave,
hot
plate,
pot
pans,
cups,
fridge
and
freezer,
cutting
boards
(but
no
kitchen
knives
only
cutlery
knives
which
sufficed),
hot
and
cold
water
dispenser,
and
spacious
balcony
where
one
can
smoke.
The
proprietor
gentleman
gave
me
a
glass
of
red
wine
(thank
you!).
I
fraternised
with
a
head
hunter
(recruitment
consultant),
a
member
of
the
Taiwanese
armed
forces,
and
an
air
stewardess.
There
is
a
laundry
room
at
1
usd
(30
NT)
per
machine
with
free
washing
powder,
and
a
free
spin
drier
in
the
second
floor
men's
toilet.
There
are
good,
powerful
hot
showers
which
did
not
seem
to
get
crowded
when
I
stayed.
The
hotel
is
15
minutes
on
foot
to
Academica
Synica
(turn
out
of
the
hotel
to
the
left,
cross
the
road,
and
follow
the
walled
river
that
cross
the
main
road
to
the
right)
or
10
minutes
to
the
Nangan
("south
harbour")
MRT
and
high
speed
train
station.
There
is
a
local,
basement
level
supermarket
next
door
to
the
MacDonalds
restaurant,
various
shops
and
restaurants,
and
7/11
convenience
store.
The
nearest
place
to
change
money
is
probably
the
Taiwan
Business
Bank
about
10
minutes
away
on
foot.
It
is
1200
Taiwan
Dollars
Uber
ride
to
the
airport
in
travelling
outside
train
operating
times,
or
about
200
NT
using
MRT
(or
MRT
and
high
speed
train)
from
Taoyuan
airport
about
1
hour
away.
I
recommend
taking
a
marking
pen
to
mark
your
food
when
keeping
it
in
the
communal
fridge.
You
may
wish
to
take
Tupperware
for
the
same
purpose
and
a
fruit
knife.
I
wish
that
there
were
less
vegetation
on
the
edge
of
the
outdoor
balcony
deck
and
more
seats
there
so
that
one
could
eat
and
drink
looking
down
on
the
bustling
Taiwan
street.
The
traffic
is
a
spectator
sport!
The
front
desk
staff
are
also
very
pleasant
and
can
communicate
at
least
in
written
English.
I
am
an
academic
in
Japan.
I
stayed
here
during
a
conference
in
2019.
I
prepared
my
presentation
in
the
first
floor
book
room.
This
hostel/hotel/capsule
hotel
is
a
GREAT
place
to
stay.
