I've gone here multiple times throughout my life and each time it has always impressed me. The place is huge with very nice landscaped parks on each side. Every hour they have a changing of the guard ceremony. Come during sunset to get beautiful photos of the monuments.

A rich historical place to visit when in Taipei. It is located at the same location as Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Thus, people can visit both places on the same day.

We went on a perfect day after it had just rained, so it was nice and cool out. Amazing structures, statues, and changing of the guard was sharp! A must visit in Taipei!

Not much happening or showing. For those who want to have a picnic, or relax under sun/ shade, it's a good and quite place where you can connect with the nature. We saw some students doing their morning exercises and dancing.

The square offers a vast open area that provides a respite from the urban surroundings. Locals and visitors use the square for leisurely walks, picnics, and various recreational activities.

Great place to come at night for a walk around. The buildings are lit up spectacularly and makes for some great photos. Nice gardens and park around also that has lots of fish that can be seen swimming around. Just be careful around the pond though as it can be very slippery when wet, make sure to wear good shoes.

A lovely way to spend an hour or so. Don't forget to visit the museum exhibition in the basement, which in itself can take over an hour! You can get audio tour guides for free, just need to produce some ID. Watch the changing on the guards, on the hour, every hour from 9am until 5pm (?). Definitely worth watching.

Massive square with National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall at the east end of the park. The square is flanked by the National Concert Hall on the north and the National Theater on the south. A park surrounds the plaza and a wall surrounds the site. Nice place to relax and people watch.

Liberty Square in Taiwan is a magnificent blend of architecture and history, boasting the Chang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall as its national centerpiece. This expansive public space can accommodate large crowds with ease, while the surrounding lush gardens provide a serene and verdant atmosphere. Whether you're admiring the stunning design or immersing yourself in the rich heritage, Liberty Square is a must-visit destination in Taiwan.

Not too many people during weekdays. Had a chance to take good pictures. There’s a branch of Chun Shui Tang (first boba milk tea place) within the vicinity.

Nice place for a walk and to clear your mind. I took my boy here, he also enjoyed the time there, although he loves anything outside. We saw a lot of people coming here to practice with their instruments, I enjoyed some saxo tunes by a couple of ladies. Lovely afternoon.

Great, vast square to walk around! The gardens are always immaculate and beautifully done. Sometimes there are traditional music groups playing in square, so it's a pretty lively place. Make sure to hike up to the top, so you can see the view and also go inside, as they often have exhibits showing. Note: Visited prior to COVID

A must visit when you are in Taipei. It is a huge open air pavilion with traditional Chinese architecture embedded throughout. One of the most peaceful and grand locations I’ve been to across Asia.

A very good place to take a break and to get fresh air in several garden areas around. Can easily find benches under shadow. Several restrooms are close by and are very clean. Also beverage vending machines are very easy to locate as well. The only concern is mosquitoes and it is better to bring bug repellent or sprays with you.

Frequented by locals and tourists, this is quite a spectacularly memorial hall park flanked by a theater, a performing center situated in the center of a world class city. It has a huge open space for visitors to walk about leisurely and a winding garden path through many carefully planted greens and flower beds alongside a long corridor. It could bring you an instant feelung of tranquility, like you're in a 17th century surrounding while there is busy traffic moving just on the other side of the park walls. The park is huge, but I wish they can replace some parts of the cold cement ground with lawn grass, so it will bring more vivid and warm appearance.

Always an interesting place to spend some time. Vast and open and also surrounded by more intimate gardens and ponds. And of course you can go and see the lies and incorrect history of the coward CKS.

    National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

  • 5/5 Rich D. 1 year ago on Google
Large ceremonial square next to the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall and with National concert hall and theatre to the sides. Impressively large. Flag raising ceremony in the morning (around 6:30) well worth watching with ceremonial guard. Ornamental gardens surround the square, with hidden pathways and interesting sights. See if you can find the deer on a seesaw in one area…

Liberty Square (Liberty Square, 自由廣場) in Taipei City One of the important landmarks that should not be missed when visiting Taiwan. With an area larger than 160 rai, it is an important place in various events such as decorating lanterns during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Military parade ceremony Including various political movements as well

  • 5/5 Richard W. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful place full of history and the military drill just has to be seen on the 4th floor of the CKS mausoleum - close up and wonderful - great place to wander around and read about CKS

A must visit for every touring, because that's the rules 😉. Very impressive looking and very well kept. Great for your mandatory holiday photos.

  • 5/5 Pusit K. 1 year ago on Google
Popular place to visit. Nothing much here just to see the guard and the first ridiculously overpriced/overrated bubble tea. Found many cherry blossoms (i guess) good for IG.
