Very beautiful and easy hike. Views are very good for photos and to enjoy while walking. Access is via public buses or you can drive too. Very easy to get here with small local buses. Just check with the driver as some buses diver their route. The place is very well maintained, very cleaned, and good quality of the paths. There's also wc facilities

You can visit this charming place with your friends and family to spend a beautiful day time away from the hustle and bustle in the city. It is such a perfect view and relaxing to watch because of its green and clean sorroundings. Many tourists and locals love to go there and its perfect for instagram photos. Come and enjoy your sightseeing in one of Taiwan's most beautiful destinations.

Gorgeous place and scenery! There are a few hardworking cows eating grass in the area, and our tour guide told us that two bulls recently broke the fence as they’re fighting over a cow haha. A beautiful place for some photos, a short hike or a picnic!

🚌Public transportation: Take the "Small 15" bus from Jiantan MRT Station to reach Qingtiangang directly. During the holidays, due to the large number of tourists, the passenger transportation company will add large buses to transport tourists. You can follow the instructions of the bus driver to take the shuttle bus from Jiantan Station to Lengshuikeng and transfer to the Qingtiangang shuttle bus to speed up the time to go up the mountain. 🅿️Self-driving: parking lot charges: car 30 yuan/hour, locomotive 20 yuan/time

Best day trip you can do in Taipei. Better than going to Jiufen (I also went there and thoroughly enjoyed it, but personally this is better). I came here as the first stop on my day trip I booked via Klook. We only stopped for 1 hour before heading to other places around Yangmingshan National Park, but this place was easily the best and most memorable. You could spend half a day if you wanted to doing the walking trails and just relaxing in the greens, admiring the cows. I recommend wearing something comfortable and something you won’t mind getting dirty. There’s a vending machine in the tourist centre, but once you start venturing out your on your own, so bring a backpack with some snacks and drinks. The views are stunning and on a clear day you can see the skyscrapers back in Taipei and Taipei 101.

The place is so dreamy! We were so lucky so have good weather during our travel dates so we decided to go here. It was already pretty hot during this time (April 11) but the wind is cool. The only struggle we had was the bus to go here and when leaving. On the way here, we didn’t have any issues despite the roads having lots of steep turns because we were seated. But when we were leaving, we were standing in the bus and it was so bad. I wanted to 🤢. I just decided to seat on floor and I didn’t care what others think because it’s better than puking in the floor lol. Because of that, we just decided to leave the area instead of going to another location in the park.

We had an excellent time there. It was a bit hard to reach the place with public transportation. We took a mini us from Jiantan MRT which was packed solid, so we stood for the 40- minute ride bring poked in the ribs by other passengers. It was worth it as the grasslands are a beautiful place. The visitor center had a very informative set of displays in Chinese and English. They're are no paper maps so you need to take a picture of the trails. If you don't have much time there is a circular trail which is flat and easy, right in front of the visitor center. For the trails, walk past a temple and a monumental gate. The trail system starts after the gate. We saw a lot of water buffalo up close, closer than we wanted even! As they were right in the middle of the trail, we went around the best we could. The scenery is fantastic there. Even in dry weather, the steps were very slippery in the wooded parts that don't see much sun, so be careful. I had good traction trail running shoes and yet I almost flipped s few times. The locals all had trekking poles.

A very nice place to have a picnic. It only takes 30-40 mins away from the central city. Provides limited parking lots, it’s better taking buses or ridding a scooter to get here. Save lots of time waiting for parking. I enjoy spending quality time having some good food and wine here.

A very easy hike for a reasonably healthy individual. The view is amazing. Be sure to wear some layers and pack some food for this trip as it can get quite cold at the top and food options are also limited. Transport can also be quite challenging as only small shuttles make the trip.

it's a very beautiful place. it was cloudy when we went and the climate was very nice. the place is clean. transportation is also not difficult because ,the buses arrive on time at its station. we just didn't notice if there was food and water to buy so it's better if you bring your own just to be sure.

The view here is breathtaking and spectacular, especially during golden hour. I would say it’s one of the most romantic scenes that I’ve ever seen during my lifetime. Moreover, it’s hard to believe that you can reach such a paradise costing just an hour of driving from the city. However, there might be a long line waiting during the weekend. I suggest to park further away at 冷水坑parking lot and then take a transfer bus. It’ll be a lot faster!! Also, the public transportation is a great alternative, you can take a bus from 劍潭 MRT station directly. Anyway, bring a picnic mat with you would be a even better idea!

Amazing place to visit tricky commute with the bus and knowing how to get there. On the way back we got a shared taxi which was very convenient compared to the bus queue and system (a bit hard to follow). The place itself is amazing, we did a small lunch picnic with 7/11 food we got with us, some wine would have added to the vibe even more 😛.

I went on a weekend, the queue to enter the car park was crazy. Please do not try. My driver let us alight at the entrance and suggest we walk up, it was a 30 mins upslope walk, depending on how fit you are. Luckily the weather was sunny and nice, there are quite a few people setting their mats down to picnic. The pathway is filled with small rocks, may not be ideal for children or wheelchair users. There are a lot of buffaloes feeding at the sides as well, you can see them up close. There are two bus services that goes back to train station and Yangmingshan main stop. Note that the frequency is 30 mins and it is a small 20+ seater bus. Towards the end of the day, some taxi drivers may offer to take you down as a much higher price. Do plan well if coming on a weekend.

Absolutely beautiful place, I could spend hours here walking the trails. We went on a Friday and it still took around 15 minutes to enter the parking lot - we had to wait for other cars to exit before the parking lot attendant lets the next car in. Can't imagine how busy it would be in a weekend. Tons of people lining up at the bus stop as well. There is an overflow parking lot but it is a long walk to the grassland, maybe 20 minutes at least. Recommend going early. Not to be missed!

Another green attraction in northern TaiWan, Qingtiangang Grassland is known for its bulls! Expect a good exercise as the place will require you to walk. Go further (about 1.5 kilometers) and you’ll see a waterfall.

If you're visiting Yangmingshan by public transport, you'll need to balance logistics, time, and value. Personally, I thought this is really worthwhile. It's relatively easy to get to and there's enough for you to see. Also if you're intending to hike from Lengshuikeng, skip it. There's nothing along the way. Just take the bus.

Wonderful park with vast Grassland at the top of a mountain. Very cooling and nice place to chill and enjoy nature. Going up the mountain can be windy and uncomfortable for some people by a small van nos S15 or 108.

Breathtaking (literally, it’s very cold during winter season) scenic place! 6 degree lower than city Highly recommended!!

Nice prairie with lots of people. We didn’t have any water buffalo encounter, which was a shame. It’s a short hike from Lengshuikeng visitor centre, just steps and stairs so a very easy route.

This is a very important tips from me... make sure that the weather is friendly enough when you want to visit this place, unless you will arrive at the foggyland, not a grassland 😅

  • 5/5 Joel Y. 1 year ago on Google
Very natural and beautiful, although it was expected to be sunny and blue skies, but cloudy day is quite a scene too with such fresh air, almost felt like outside of Asia. There are buses coming and going here so transport is quite easy. Will come back again hopefully during a bright sky day.

The best to time visit would be between October~ March, when it's sunny and there's no humidity. This is an open field and there's no shade anywhere so be sure to stay hydrated so you can enjoy the trip visit. Great place to take some pics : )

Living in the concrete jungle, we have to admit that our busy. extravagant lives are corroding our souls little by little. Only by being close to nature can we recover our vitality and go back our true selves. Breathing in fresh air, smelling the fragrance of flowers and listening to the sounds of birds and streams, we can release our tensions and listening to the sounds of birds and streams, we can our tensions and cleanse our minds of the tiresome things around us. Form the journey of water, we can understand the circle of life. Also, we can learn to be kind people from the peace of mountains. We can learn a lot as we enjoy the cozy atmosphere of nature. We may consider nature as a great book, and noting in the can delight us as much as it!

One of the most popular sightseeing places in Yangmingshan National Park. There’s little traffic jam on weekend but best things in life are worth waiting for:) Mind blowing splendid grass field and free-range cows will definitely relieve your stress and worries- just enjoy it.😉

Amazing place to visit with friends and its in good altitude and fresh air. No doubt Taiwan is a natural beauty enchanted with most wonderful beauty of the world flora and funa. This place is a good reason to visit Taiwan you can enjoy lot of places on the way to this place. Eventhough it was little foggy but we enjoyed a lot. Their is a water fall on the top of the mountain and lake near by and many other places on the mountain.

The grassland reopen with new safety fence to limit people from intimidating the beautiful wild oxen (water buffalo). A new grassland hill opens too. Today dozens of oxen and calf were playing by the side of the fence on the lush green grassland. It's an unforgettable gorgeous scene. I took several videos as many other people do. Gorgeous day fantastic green grassland and the beautiful oxen, it will stay in my memory for long time to come.

That's an amazing place of grasslands. It's part of the Taipei Grand Hike trail, so you can cross it from LengShueiKeng to Fengguizui. It's mostly flat, offering very peaceful and bucolic landscapes. The trail is like 7.5 km, with very well stone paved way. As there is no tree coverage, it can be quite hot to walk that trail. Be aware of the water buffalos, roaming around, as they can bring a serious concern when they just stand on the trail (you need to wait or quit the trail to avoid them).

Once I went here, the road was closed because of the bull incident, but it has opened now. It is always windy, and actually sometimes the weather is unpredictable up there, so you need to prepare an umbrella for sure.
