This is a fantastic day trip from Osaka if you're a Dragon Quest fan and can figure out how to get here, which isn't easy*. Much more fun than the marketing would suggest! Make sure you have at least two hours to spend for the main quest, or three hours if including the sub-quest. Exclusive souvenirs at the gift store as well. *As of Sep 2021 there are only three bus times to choose from, departing from Osaka Station: 08:40, 10:00, 14:00 (and also just 3 for returning: 10:43, 15:33, 16:43). Look for the express bus terminal connected to the train station. Check Nishinihon Bus for info.

Since I loved Dragon Quest, the whole experience was really fun. The missions require you around 2 hours+ (We finished in 1 hr 50 min in a rush), and you need to run around here and there (Just like real RPG), so be prepared that you will do a bit of walking back and forth. But the ending battle was so much fun! I recommend you to start playing late afternoon like 4pm in the summer, so the weather is not that hot during sunset.

I think it's a great & special place for adults and children, whether it's for playing games, scenic views and taking photos or food. I hope many will come to it .

So much fun! Surprisingly enjoyable! We didn’t plan to visit, just drop by after visiting the hello kitty smile nearby for my daughter. Traveling also with my wife and 11 years son who played Dragon Quest on PS4 with me during covid. My wife never play RPG with me but she also enjoyed this real life RPG game. The rest of the park is amazing too. Great work! Keep it up!

Wow this is incredible. If you’re a fan of the series I highly recommend coming here. Depending on when you come will depend on if you can buy tickets at the park or online. Because it was the soft opening, we got our tickets in advance. I won’t spoil the details, only that you need a good pair of shoes and water. And money for the gift shop haha The staff are so awesome, they really get into character. And the drivers who will take you to the park from Highway Oasis (if you don’t can’t/want to walk 30 minutes) are so kind. The one gentleman in particular freaking _ran_ down the slope from the bus stop because he accidentally gave us the wrong info on when our bus would leave. Like such a top notch fellow.

Fun little park that's connected to other parks. It took me and my Waifu 3 hours to complete the main story. There's an English version of the adventure so you will be able to understand what to do and you can always ask the fortune teller for tips if you get lost. There's quite a bit of backtracking between areas so make sure you're in shape. There's cute monsters all around to take pictures with and the town makes you feel immersed. Most of the quest is done outside so make sure to pick a date that has good weather. I went on a Friday afternoon and it was sunny but not so cold and there weren't any issues navigating around other players.

This was so much fun. The staff were excellent and added to a great experience of immersion. The quests were fun and it was a very enjoyable place. I liked how you could pick from three types of adventures. I had so much fun. At the end my party I created was number 1. This was a very fun attraction at this place.

We had a great time here. We came on a Tuesday on a rainy day and it was very quiet. You could buy themed ponchos at the park for the rain which was a bit of fun. Make sure you wear your walking shoes as there is a lot of walking back and forth. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The game was very fun we were able to play in English and it took us about 2 hours without side quests. We did take our time a bit. We also ate at Luida’s Bar which had pretty good and cute themed food! I would recommend this to anyone who likes rpgs if you’re a dragon quest fan or not.

Amazing staff who did their best to help in English! It's always a great experience when employees love their jobs. Such a great unique experience you'll never find back in the US, I highly suggest getting there early to have the most time available for each quest! Definitely an amazing memorable experience!

To be fair, weather aside I would probably give it a 4 star, but since this is almost all outside the weather is a huge factor. It was pretty hot the day we went, and standing in lines outside waiting to read text on a screen did make the experience worse. The staff was friendly and even though we are decent with Japanese, they had a lot in English and some of the staff even spoke good English. The storyline for the event was great, but having to backtrack and go to the same npc multiple times was frustrating when there were long lines. We didn’t even get to eat in the cafe, it was so busy that only one group got seated in the 15 min we were waiting (in a line of about 10 groups). The merch is amazing though and reasonably priced unlike some other parks. As my wife put it at the end “I’m joining the demon king at least his castle has aircon”.

Very fun experience, BUT try not to go during holidays, you'll have to queue a lot! It's like doing a real life RPG quest, quite fun to do with kids as you cannot lose.

Very good theme park with a dragon quest theme. It was fun but a little bit tired. We spend 2 hours completing the quest. The characters were well made. Nice for a family.

An absolute joy to play! Dragon Quest Island places you as a character in a tiny town and has you complete quests for NPCs across multiple zones. Part puzzle, part RPG. You'll be hunting for hidden medals in town or fighting monsters in the forest. Additional side quests are available if you want to extend your experience but on average all the content can be completed (even on a semi-busy day) in about three hours. There are a few bottleneck spots in the attraction so be prepared to wait in line. Multiple languages are supported, including a flawless delivery of English. You can visit the Cafe anytime to rest and refuel, with lunch for two averaging about 3000 yen. Worth experiencing if you find yourself on Awaji!

This was easily one of the best things I have done while travelling. It's out of the way for sure, but worth the trip for anyone who has played a DQ game. 5/5. Will do again.

Great if you like Dragon Quest. Expect lots of lines and waiting around. Also, it isn't a real "game". It's more of a linear experience that's themed like a Dragon Quest RPG. If you can get past those two points and are a fan of Dragon Quest then then you'll probably love it. Otherwise it's not worth it in my opinion...
