The rebuilt main building was nice to be able to walk through and understand how Japanese Daimyo lived in the 17th century. The video presentation was also helpful to understand how and why the castle was built. I recommend to anyone visiting the area to walk the entire outer moat and visit the shops along the way.

(Visits 1) (Castles: 50+). Its a trek to get out here. Its not really on the way from anything. Its not close to anything. I came from Osaka by train, which I guess it nice that its even possible. Some ruins are by car only. Even from Osaka it was over an hour on the train. Then a bus. So about 3 hours round trip if you discount waiting times just to see.... not much. The town was quaint and nice. I feel like there was a lot of little things to see in the town, but I did not know that until I got there. There were bicycles for rent so people were going this way and that on little red bikes. The castles ruins themselves where not that much to look at. They had a museum building to go into, took about 5 minutes to very slowly walk through. You could finish in 90 seconds. 400 yen to get in. No English anywhere in town or the castle. Even the pamphlet with castle info as Japanese only.

Not much to do or to watch here, but view is nice. Good place to play a little with kids. Layout of castle and walls remains can be observed. Small museum closes at 5PM.

The ground are open to the public during hours and it's free to enter. If you want to do the tour of the interior you have to pay admission. It's a great place to watch the sunset ad view the town from. There is a elementary school next to the castle and the sounds of children playing can be quite soothing or irritating depending on your personality or mood.
