👍👍 My husband and I stopped in while waiting at the bus stop. The couple who own the cafe were so kind and accommodating. There’s an English menu, and they spoke very good English. The food was just what we have been looking for on our stay in Kyoto. We both got the hot ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. I... My husband and I stopped in while waiting at the bus stop. The couple who own the cafe were so kind and accommodating. There’s an English menu, and they spoke very good English. The food was just what we have been looking for on our stay in Kyoto. We both got the hot ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. I also got their specialty coffee that had gold flakes on top. Not only was the presentation of the coffee beautiful, but the flavor was strong and delicious.

Chanced upon this coffee place on the way out from kinkaku, owned by an old couple. The interior of this coffee place is very English, and you can tell that they put in a lot of passion into the design of the place. Around 15 seats for dining and they are closed on Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays. Their breakfast set ranged from 500-700 yen. Great value and perfect ambience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this charming cafe, where every detail exuded a genuine passion for the craft. The warm atmosphere created by the delightful old couple who served us added a personal touch to the experience. Their dedication was evident not only in the delicious coffee and toast but also in their thoughtful attire, reflecting the seriousness with which they run the cafe. The nostalgic ambience, adorned with antique furnishings, offered a glimpse into the cafe's journey over the years. Leaving with no regrets, I appreciated the unique blend of history and hospitality that made this visit memorable.

Old fashioned coffee shop with a friendly coffee master, brewing coffee in siphon. Despite it is an old style coffee shop, smoking is not allowed here so don’t hesitate to enter!

Nearly everything on the menu is homemade. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The coffee was unique in its preparation and excellent. We will make this a new “one of our places” in Kyoto!

An old fashioned coffee house that serve good coffee. Their Coffee Zensai (coffee pour over a bow of red beans and vanilla ice cream) was good. Should try The Offer shop has a genuine phone booth complete with a turn dial telephone. Very nostalgic.

Unbelievable gem near the golden temple! Run by a lovely couple who spent time talking to us. The coffee is siphoned and there is a wide range of choice. The toasties and sandwiches were perfect fuel before going to the temple. The vibe is really relaxed and decorated like a vintage shop with the bar and phone booth. The barista puts lots of effort into each drink and you can see his pride. Prices very reasonable given its close location to a tourist hotspot. Also has an English menu and Soy milk for your coffee or tea.

What an amazing place! Genuine, home-like experience. The owners are just too cute and honest. I've never been so taken care of in Japan while ordering just a tea. The menu is 100% English, so it's easy to order. Just please, make sure you don't ruin the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the place - as there are many locals sitting at the counter, enjoying their morning newspaper.

A very cute little place, ideal before or after visiting the golden temple. Small traditional Japanese restaurant, lots of locals reading which added to the atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and tasty breakfast menu and good simple coffee. I was served by lovely and gentle people, excellent service.

I was so glad to find a coffee shop that opened early in the morning on my way to Kinkakuji. It is a cute and cozy cafe where you can enjoy breakfast and nice coffee! The owners are very friendly. I saved this in my list and will definitely visit again if I have a chance!

Excellent coffee, excellent food. Ordered pancakes, ham and cheese sandwich and egg sandwich and all was too notch. Service is excellent, incredibly nice couple and local clientele were very kind as well. Great spot for some food before or after Kinkaku-Ji.

We were looking for somewhere near the Kinkakuji temple and are so happy we found this place. The environment was so comforting and the coffee was great. We had the Japanese Castella sponge cake, coffee Zenzai, and pancakes. All were amazing!

lovely breakfast experience on our way to the Golden Pavilion! Nothing else was open and we had hungry kids who were begging for Family Mart but am so glad we decided to stop here instead! wonderful food and some of the best coffee we’ve had in Japan so far. must go 🤍

Great place to drop by before, or after, visiting the Kinkakuji Temple. They’ve english menu; good coffee with reasonable price. It’s like a local cafe with the cozy atmosphere. I’m very impress that they’ve Cafe Kahlau. Very recommended.

Stopped by after going to the Golden Pavilion just to rest up for a bit and figuring out what to do next. It was a uniquely decorated cafe with staff in a butler attire. They have menus on the table (English ones on request) as well as a dessert cabinet to pick out some cakes. There seemed to only be one person doing everything so it did take a bit of time to get everything we ordered (3 drinks and snacks). This place did have one of the nicer pancakes in Japan that I had tried.

Very very friendly and nice elderly couple is welcoming you in this old looking cafe. We were surprised that they offer a very modern and western breakfast and it was delicious! Best cafe so far in Japan and a lot of homemade ingredients! They even got WiFi here 😳

Just had the loveliest breakfast experience at this cozy, traditional Japanese restaurant! 🍵🥞 The owners are the cutest and most polite people I've ever met. Stepping inside, I was greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked bread, which I couldn't resist trying. I also had the green tea pancakes served with a cup of Americano, and it was the perfect blend of East meets West. The atmosphere here is so friendly and welcoming - I noticed many locals enjoying their breakfast and reading the newspaper, which gave the place an authentic vibe.
