A new experience to the area as it has a bit of everything. Good food, instagrammable spots and the beach are just a few. Menu has a lot to choose from for everyone. Portions are relatively okay and they are very delicious. The calamari was the best dish which we tried. Beverages include fresh juices and a variety of beer. Majority of seating are outdoors which is essential when at the beach. Service was good but speed could improve. Prices are definitely on the high end but you get your moneys worth. Try the bacon and cheese fries and you won’t regret.

Really tasty food and variety of dishes which you will not find in other restaurants in matara. I have tried burgers, wraps and spaghetti from here and all meals were delicious. Specifically the spaghetti had a unique taste with the white sauce. And the place is clean and well maintained, has a european vibe to it. Friendly staff and service is good. Only negative thing I experienced was that potato wadges were too oily and had a slightly bitter taste. Overall highly satisfied.

Excellent place to hang out. Atmosphere is fabulous with tons of photogenic locations. Situated inside the Matara fort, really a calm location. Service is good and fast, staff is friendly. Food is tasty, prices are reasonable. Menu has large number of varieties. All the food we tried were tasty and the portions sizes were really reasonable.

We went to this restaurant during Vesak holiday and it was incredible. They served roti for free for the people who were standing in a long queue. We ordered seafood teryaki rice and Thai prawns red curry - both delicious. Staff is also very friendly :)

We were waiting for our food for near 40 min, but we were warned about the possible expectation time. At the end, Singapore style noodle was very tasty, but salas with prawns and mango was just ok (mango was unripe). They also brought two desserts however we had ordered only one... But it was tasty anyway Service was good and the place is very nice as well 👍

The place has a unique atmosphere near the beach. Lots of antique items inside if you’re interested in such items. They had a carom board, checkers board and a dart board inside. Food was ok but their menu is kind of confusing to look at. Prices are fair though. They also have outdoor seating at the beach. We decided to stay inside because it was hot in the afternoon. They had fans inside but no air conditioning for downstairs. No dedicated parking and had to use the roadside parking. There were police officers nearby so I assume it’s safe there. We had a bride to be celebration there as well. The place can be recommended for small gatherings and definitely a must visit if you’re at Matara.

I visited Dutchman Street with my girlfriend for her birthday dinner. We were asked to place the order at the reception from a menu which had most of the items striked off. We ordered a starter, 2 maincourse and 2 juices after confirming the availability. Within 15 minutes we were served with the main courses and one juice. We waited more than 30 minutes for the starter and the other juice but did not get any attention from any of the hosts. After the 1st inquiry, the starter was served. Since we were about to finish our meal, I asked the waiter to cancel the juice which was not delivered and the waiter then told us that the host who took our order has messed up and the juice is now not available. I have visited Dutchman Street several times and had an awesome experience. However, this time they ruined our night. Worst, they even did not bother to apologize even after complaining. Would not recommend this place anymore. Poor Service

When we think about celebrations, The Dutchman's Street is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding, my Chicken Mongolian Rice, Chicken Dewal might have been the best meal I have ever been served. Service was delightful and very professional. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

Dutchman is a nice and Calm place for those who are lokking for spend some time to relax. Very quite place with nice views. With sea side thats better for special occasions. It has nice food collection. Delicious and clean. Staff is very Friendly..Can recommend place in Matara Town.

This is different type of restaurant located in Matara port. Varies dishes available. we had chicken fried rice and two drinks. I fogot name 🤗. Very beautiful in the evening and very calm place when i was visited as place not mich crowded. Various seating facilities available and varies food options available. Great place to have a meal with friend and family. Service is very good.

Very romantic and classic restaurant in the matara town. Their drinks are not up to the level but food is amazing. We have tried Seafood Mongolian Rice , Quesadilla Chicken Teriyaki Rice, Seafood Pizza and veggie platter . Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is great I highly recommend this place for a couple.

I visited here couple of days ago. The place located near beach and has very nice atmosphere with vintage dutch look.Staff is friendly although took fairly long time to serve the meals.we had seafood & mutton mixed pizza from here. It's okay & mutton was delicious, however prices are on the higher side & unfair comparing to the other pizza places.

Tasty food in a nice surrounding. Both indoor and outdoor dining is available. Staff is attentive and friendly. Outdoor area opens directly to the beach. Nice place to host an evening party. Best place in this area to have a wonderful family or friends hangout.

Great place for personal and business meetups. Abundant space available inside and outside open area. Sea breeze makes the environment cool even in the noon. Popular for outdoor weddings and functions. Food and beverages are in superb quality. I enjoyed the chicken pizza and mango juice. Highly recommended!

Nice old looking restaurant for perfect dining. I went on a off season day. So there wasn't many people but it's a nice place to check out. I went for lunch but will be nice if you are going for dinner with their nice outdoor setup.

Restaurant it self is stunning and in a good location .a poorly puppy was there . If owners could look after it , it would be more pleasant , sea food teriyaki was so delicious but pizza we find it little overpriced and it tasted ok . The waiter was ok but could improve things like greeting . Telephone operator was great . Overall nice experience.

Really nice place to dine in. Kids have enough space to play. Specially direct access to the beach. Everything seems different and antique. And recommend you to go there in the evening or night.

I visited Dutch Street Matara today for a day hangout and it was an amazing experience. The place is truly beautiful and calm, perfect for a relaxing day out. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service throughout my visit. Although there was a small misunderstanding about taking photos, the staff quickly resolved the problem in a friendly manner and I was highly impressed by their commitment to customer satisfaction. I also had the pleasure of trying their delicious food, which was of high quality and absolutely scrumptious. Overall, I spent about 5 hours at Dutch Street Matara and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great day out in Matara.

I usually don’t lash on restaurants, but here we go! The ambience is quite nice because it’s facing the ocean. And that’s it. The biggest turnoff was some people (from the restaurant) were throwing fire crackers several times at dogs to chase them away. I do understand it’s to keep the environment safe and clean, but I can definitely can think of many ways to do it without trying to kill these poor creatures! And of course, the sound of fire crackers cause nuisance to customers as well. Then the food: not good! We ordered several dishes and expected them to be as close to the authentic ones. Teriyaki Sea Food dish was barely any close. It was just like a Deviled Sea Food dish. Cream of Chicken soup: not good! Spaghetti Cabonara: acceptable Lime juice: okayish Chai: bad and cold!!! Mongolian dish: good Singapore Noodles: good Fried chicken: dry, but good The staff was not proactive and didn’t even know if menu items are available. We ordered several things and the waiter had to go back to the kitchen each time to check. The next worst thing: they brought dishes separately for the group. I haven’t seen this anywhere. People usually wait until everyone gets others’ food, so we had to wait quite a lot and the food was brought in 4-5 rounds. I don’t recommend this at all!!! I’d give negative stars if possible 😣

I'm really sorry but I can't find the pictures we took at this restaurant but we ordered a mushroom soup, a chicken focaccia, a beef quesadilla and a platter of seafood. They took a while to serve the food and the only problem was that it was cold but the flavors were good in general. The beer was cold and the cocktails too.

This has a unique atmosphere. Good place to hang out with people. It has a coffee shop vibe as well as an outdoor vibe with a sea view. Their service is good. I went there with some of my friends and we spent hours there talking. They did not disturb us and I really appreciate it. Though food is bit overpriced, it is understandable to maintain the standards of the restaurant. All in all, good place to hang out with your friends. And nice background for photos.

Me and my wife are very happy to choose this place for an afternoon ice cream and milkshake. Because foods are delicious and the customer service is top notch. And this place is a very beautiful place like a place built for photography. It is a great place to dine freely from the beach front and make memories with your loved ones. Highly Recommended for anyone.

Stopped by to get some lunch and sure this is a unique spot in Matara. The atmosphere and food are great here. I had the Mongolian rice dish and it was great but I'm not sure other menu items are because I read some other reviews here.

Lovely establishment, very nice Christmas decoration and friendly staff. We were able to park our tuktuk inside their gate and had a coffee and delicious brownie + ice cream!

The please was amazing and good fast was very best. Direct sea view and large sitting area with real feeling of Dutch or old antique place. Presentation or greeting of staff very poor. Also feel so bad having so many doges around table and non of the staff try to clear throes doges from eating table. Any since my experience in matara restaurant location and food was amazing. Managment consider about clean and greeting or presentation about menus really help full.

Have to say one of the best ambiance i have ever visited. Such class and elegance.Near the beach and really spacious. Service is a bit let down for an amazing place like this. Also the food is below par but not the worst. Surely can be improved to one of the best restaurants in Sri Lanka. Really good place to visit in matara . Highly recommend this place.

First of all, the google maps location is only right for this restaurant if you're walking. You have to take the second cross street to reach there. The Dutchman's street has a sea view outdoor dining area but we couldn't use it as it was raining. We dined indoors which was cosy and comfortable. There were some uncommon items in the menu. We tried sri lankan and the food was good , if not great. I loved the way the whole place was put together im guessing to give a dutch feel. This is a unique place to dine and we liked it there

Its next to matara courts and it has it's own art of managing its operations and their food is good and they have a good menu as well. Both families and friends with small groups can enjoy this place and the evenings at The Dutchmans street is beautiful as it is close to the beach and located inside Matara Fort.

A place where you can hangout specially on evenings. A cool place and it’s prices are also quite reasonable as well.

A wonderful place to dine. The most astonishing feature is its location and the ambience. Decorated in a quite iconic way. Prices are in middle range with wide range of choices. The only negative is they took nearly an hour to serve us even it wasn't that crowded in a Sunday lunch. Tasty foods with different taste. Largely targeted on sea foods.
