This store has tools and equipment that other stores don't have, so it's fun just to look around.

At lunchtime, it was crowded with customers who had probably finished their meals and were looking for a cup of coffee. Both customers and staff seemed to be used to waiting in line, and although the store was relatively small, the flow was quick and smooth. Coffee was delicious. The price was also reasonable.

I am a frequent customer not only because of Tonya’s convenient location, but because of the friendly staff and delicious beverages. I often order the soy chai tea, but they also have espresso milkshakes in the morning (highly recommend) and matcha bubble tea. You can also find fresh, sweet and savory bread, sweets, tea, and coffee beans to buy and take home. Though they are a little pricey, you can also buy coffee brewing accessories here.

Street parking is terrible on weekends and weekdays. I don't understand why the store would leave it alone. Is it okay if sales go up? Even though it was in front of the prefectural office, prefectural police, and city hall, there was no investigation.

Nice views and quick service. The coffee is actually good too. It's a nice pit stop if you're in the area walking about on a chilly day.

Reasonable good taste

Coffee Tonya is a one of the few places in Gunma where I can see they take coffee making seriously. Although I don’t buy beans myself, one of their selling points is definitely their vast selection of coffee beans, of which you can have roasted to your liking. I personally like to go and grab a quick drink (usually to-go), for which the prices are reasonable and the quality is good. The inside is a little bit tight and it’s not the best sit down place, but overall, good coffee = good coffee shop.

It takes a little time to get the coffee roasted to your liking, but you can get delicious coffee and there are lots of coffee equipment in the store, so it's fun to look around. There are not only common types of coffee beans, but also beans that you have never heard of, and if you tell the staff what flavor you like, they will recommend beans for you. When you buy beans, you get a 100 yen discount on drinks, so you can enjoy a variety of drinks every time you buy beans. You can't drink it inside the store, so you can eat it on the bench in front of the store, but depending on the time and weather, it may be difficult.

This fresh roaster gives you a free coffee while you wait for your beans to roast. You can choose from around 100 different beans and choose how they are roasted. Tonya also carries import foods and all the coffee making supplies you could ask for.
