The food is generally delicious. The play area for children is great and the price of everything is just a bargain. The carvery is 10/10. However I feel the team need a little training or guidance. Very, very slow service, not particularly welcoming staff and when you pre-book they never, ever have your table ready. A lot of staff standing around having a chat whilst tables need cleaning ready for new customers.

Server was nice. Food was really bad. Found a full uncooked potato in the mash. The kids mash also had a massive lump in which caused my 2 year old son to gag and not want to eat the rest of his meal. Edit to add from reply: we spoke to the manager who offered to replace the meals. However, my husband had already finished his fish and chips (which he enjoyed) I had eaten around 5% of my carvery (which we had to get the Yorkshire pudding replaced as it was burnt, pigs in blankets were chewy, my mash was dominated by a raw potato and the meat wasn't great and very dry.) He explained to the manager that we'd already eaten so didn't want the meals replacing. To replace the meals would have meant spending another 40 minutes in the restaurant with a 2 year old who was already upset. We also mentioned it to the server after speaking to the manager. We weren't offered any compensation, but to be fair, we didn't ask for the meal to be refunded. We just chalked it up as a bad experience.

Really excellent Sunday lunch carvery to be had here. Lots of choice, well cooked and presented. A good menu if you prefer more traditional fare. Staff are excellent and although you have to queue for the carvery it didn't take too long and did not distract from a pleasant meal. Area for kids and outdoor seating as well. Would recommend.

Worth visiting, play area for young children to keep them occupied. Plates are toasty warm. Nice inside can also sit outside if you choose to do so. Staff are always pleasant. Can order to take out. Desserts are to dream for, can also take those out. Highchairs for babies.

Very quiet when we went on Thursday lunchtime but the staff were lovely and friendly and the place was very clean. The carvery was really nice though not as hot as I would have liked it but the Malteser cheesecake was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be going again very soon.

Extremely poor service, many items unavailable. Wrong soups delivered to table and lengthy delay to rectify. Offered Louisiana strips in place of chicken strips from grazers menu due to lack of availability to since discover both are the same product therefore both out of stock. Issue with carvery counter meaning service was temporarily stopped, delaying meals. No I’ve cream deserts available at all!! Serving staff very slow and appeared to lack knowledge. Overall poor experience. Nowhere near normal standards

Amazing Carvery, very fresh with an abundance of meats and veg!! Pardon the pun. Staff were amazing, friendly polite and very courteous. Even better deals if you have a DDS card or Blue light card as you get 20% of your food. Well worth it for a midweek roast ot can't be bothered cooking. Will certainly be back again.

Came here last night (Sunday) nice place we only tried the roast. It was a good selection of vegetables and potatoes the meats were nice apart from the beef it was a strange texture and flavour. The puddings are amazing and huge bonus that you can take them away with you. Small little play area for under 5s

What a fantastic place. The meal was superb. The service exceptional. Staff were chatty and welcoming. The lad on the carvery was so friendly asking how our day had been. Will definitely go again and recommend to family and friends. As you can see our Granddaughter enjoyed her dessert and the play area. Thank you to all staff for a lovely meal and atmosphere.

A decent buffet breakfast. A good selection of everything for everyone. Cereals are missing but what there is on offer is decent. The fruit juices have to be paid for separately at the bar and not included. The staff are nice enough but I think this morning was unusually busy so cups, hot water (for tea) etc were scarce and had to be asked for. I’m not put off returning but there’s a bit of choice of similar in the surrounding area.

Last visited August 2023 Visited during a not so busy period, so we were able to get a table without waiting. There was still an approx 45 min wait for food, but that was ok for us. Previously ordered for the carvery (good selection), not this time, ordered from the menu. Food was what we expected.

Went here on 10 Sept for Sunday lunch with my husband. He as usual ordered a standard sized carvery and enjoyed it except he said the carrots were hard otherwise he enjoyed it immensely. I on the other hand ordered a 8oz sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. Thank you so much from table 62. Dave & Caroline

It's a nice place but understand, it's is what it is, a busy pub with food and particularly, a very good carvery, which is sought after on weekends, by families. Therefore, it could be noisy. I don't think much of the beer, particularly the Ale and bitters. I'm a beer snob and prefer hand-pulled bitter. But hey, do not let my comments put you off. You'll enjoy it. The best thing about any carvery for me, is that I can get a decent plate of veg and some meat. There's 3 plate sizes to suit and not being a big eater, the medium was enough. At busy times, book. Take your tablet number to the bar and order drink and food, out use the App. I will return another day. My photo shows beef and gammon, roast parsnips, sprouts, carrots, red cabbage. There's a bit of cauliflower cheese there too, beef dripping roast potatoes and a very tasty gravy.

Went there midweek for a carvery and the food was great the first time round but unfortunately the cakes were really dry and my mates cream looked like milk. Went again last night to take my daughter and the roast potatoes+Yorkshire puddings tasted like they were from the day before. The mushrooms with the steak are also bitter because they’re from a tin. I’d go back if the food was a bit more consistent.

This is the second time recently been in. The manageress Sarah was absolutely brilliant. Hard working, never stopping. If everyone worked as hard as her then she wouldn't need to work half as hard. In spite of being on the go all the time she had plenty of time for the customers and was ready to help out with an issue with our bill and gave time to all customers. Can't praise her enough.

The carvery food was cold. The carrots sprouts and baby potatoes were very undercooked and hard. The roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding were vastly overcooked. The only food what was palatable was the gravy!! I would not recommend eating any of the food from the carvery unless you want to visit your dentist with a broken tooth

No pictures as we forgot. Got there at 8pm was greeted and seated right away,by a lovely gentleman called Leigh think he was a manger as he had shirt not uniform, the atmosphere was lovely and quite. Order 2 carverys £7.99 each and x2 alcoholic drinks which was £10. The guy on the bar Steve was lovely and fast on service. Food was lovely, fresh beef came out. Only down side was roast potatoes was hard, like been stood there for ages, so opted for new potatoes. On out way out, the manager Leigh asked if we wanted some cakes for free got brownie and chocolate cake bonus as I had this as part of my birthday cake. Thank you Leigh and Steve.

Fantastic day today, the food was top notch. Despite there only being beef left; we was informed the second we walked in. Then a guy from behind carvery In a pink top came round tie the queue and informed us and everyone else. The cakes were to die for, especially the eclairs. Been trying to get one of them for a long while now

Food was OK for a carvery. Ordered 2 carveries and 2 rounds of 2 drinks. First set arrived promptly 2nd set a bit later 10-15 minutes after the order. Empty glasses not removed. Ordered ice cream it arrived and the plates we had already stacked where ignored along with the empty glasses still looking around our table 66, 4 out of 6 tables still have empty plates on the table. 15 minutes they are still there. But no one sitting at them anymore. Looking around the pub does not look that busy. Bit of a let down for such a big chain of pubs 28/3/23 Went again to the pub to meet some family. Same thing again waited 15 minutes for drinks when it was quiet I ended up going collecting the drinks myself. The table had there mains the deserts came over and left the dirty plates. Staff where friendly but just ignoring dirty plates at active customers. Really should not have dirty mains plates when deserts arrive. Still shocking that this practice is going on. Staff regularly going in the kitchen empty handed. I took another video of most of the places with dirty plates on again can't post it on this review Downgrading star rating as on the first edit of this the reply said they where going to Look into this a month on no change

Food is always good & fair priced. A friendly & nice atmosphere, the staff are always friendly & well spoken. Wide selection of soft drinks for the children & plenty of selection for the adults

We had the carvery which was very good. The food was fresh and hot. I had the beef which was beautiful, it was medium cooked and tender. We ordered large soft drinks. The whole meal was reasonably priced. One member of staff who stood out was Leon. He kept our table tidy and clean, he was friendly, polite and very pleasant. We were a group of ladies having a good catch up and it was lovely not to feel rushed. The rest of the staff were really nice too. I won't hesitate to go back.

This is the 3rd time in past 2 months I’ve visited this pub, ordered ultimate size coke £3.85 to receive glass only 3/4 full when I mentioned it I was told cause you didn’t have ice. The carvery was very poor the beef and Turkey looked so dry and inedible, I mentioned to the carver and he agreed. All the veg was way undercooked, Out of 3 times the Carvery has been so disappointing on 2 occasions.I’ve eating at the Green King in Bury on a number of occasions and can honestly say I’ve always been impressed with their carvery

main meal was OK exept corn on the cob that was grey and watery. Then some of the deserts where finally brought to table without clearing away dirty plates. the icecream sundae was half melted when brought out and ice cream was not brought. I complained and was promised refund but still not received a week later. they claimed it had been busy there was very few customers during our visit. also allows orders that are out of stock.

Busy leading up to Christmas so staff overworked, but very friendly service with a bit of a wait at peak times. Today's cake selection looks excellent

Our family of 10 had a lovely Sunday Dinner yesterday. Emma was very helpful taking us to our table and nothing was too much trouble even though the pub was very busy. 2 of our party had the Carvery and it was delicious . Emanuel was serving the meat and he was very pleasant even giving me an extra Yorkshire pudding for my Grandson who would eat a full plateful if he was allowed. The Carvery deck was very busy and all the Vegetables and Potatoes were piping hot . The gravy is lovely also. Everybody enjoyed their meals . A thank-you to Zack who brought our drinks to the table as we used the ATF App . A very enjoyable meal and we will be coming again very soon.

We went early doors to avoid a crowd and having to wait. Had a great meal (carvery)couldn't finish it all as full up. Their desserts alone are worth going for..very well priced! The staff (Emma,Linby, etc were very helpful and welcoming. ). Would definitely go again..

We visited on a Saturday evening. It was not very busy, yet the queue to be served was long, because of only 2 serving at the bar, and they kept breaking off to do drinks for waitresses. I tried to use the app but ordering was not available. I started queuing at just after 8pm. I heard the bar staff say that the carvery closed at 8.30. by the time I was served and returned to my table with the drinks we had less than 10 minutes to go to the carvery. The food was good and the deserts are very tempting.

Carvery was very nice but the fish on the chip shop supper was dry because it was overcooked. Nobody came to check on the food so we didn't bother complaining. When I went to the bar after our starters there was only 1 person serving and I was there about 15 minutes for 2 drinks which meant my partners food was served up and eaten before I could get to the carvery.

Today I came to ash tree farm with my three children husband and family. My son hit his head of the table (from running to fast) and the staff was amazing, straight away ice pack applied, check in a few times, and took our details incase needed further assistant. I really appreciated today!! The food was brilliant all fresh as well.

Just here today with my two sons . Eaten here many times , slowly going downhill however today has got to be the worst and its definitely off my list now. The carvery was just all mush except for brocoli !! The bar tender was very friendly and I did feel sorry knowing she was the only one behind the bar, taking food and drink orders whilst also drinks from the app . Will not go again for sure.

From booking in the staff were friendly the manager Leigh made sure we were seated and had everything we needed to start our visit. Our table server was Geoff was pleasant and great with the 5 children giving colouring sheets and crayons to do while we waited for the last guest to arrive. And our carvery chef Mike was so patient with the kids as they decided which meat they wanted . We love going to Ash Tree Farm it's always a pleasure and clean plates too.

Just had a member of staff put the most hideous looking " Hunters Chicken Burger " in front of me. The chicken was breaded but burnt and flat and greasy, with some cheese sauce smeared all over it that looked like it was out of a can. The chips looked like they were out of a bag of oven chips you buy from the supermarket and again, overdone. Onion rings were over done and dry. I didn't even touch it. I just handed it back to a manager and told them to take it away. He asked " What's wrong with it? " Well if you as a manager cannot see the issue then you're in for big problems. Absolutely disgusting! Why is there nobody there monitoring what goes out of the kitchen. I'd be embarrassed if I served that up.

Got diverted off the M60 on Tues due to a big crash. When we spotted your place, we were too tired to continue any further and decided to stop. For the most part the food was lovely, the taste of your mushy peas took me back to my childhood, very tasty. The turkey was surprisingly tasty, usually dry at other places, and I even loved the carrots. We were looking forward to the roast potatoes, they looked nice and crispy, but unfortunately they were fairly difficult to cut, the inside was tasty but outside wasn't crispy, such a shame. The floor in the ladies toilets needs addressing, it was very sticky. Overall we did enjoy our meals, and will visit you again.

Absolutely disgusting service and the food I order was disgraceful. I ordered cheese and chutney barm, which was a barm with half a jar on chutney on it and sprinkle of Grated cheese. On the way out we decided to order cake away, stood at the till for 10mins no one came to the till to serve us yet ppl was queuing after us for food and being serve. We asked the lad standing near door who was seating ppl if he could serve us , was told I suggest you join the que 😡 i asked him could he not just jump on the till and serve us but he refused, then we joined the food que for and 5 minutes later that same lad came on the till to serve, then to tell me they don't have any of the cakes left I wanted. Rude, arrogant and not helpful at all.

Visited ash tree farm as we were staying at the village hotel, we’d been shopping all day so we were really looking forward to our evening meal. We received a phone call shortly before our booking telling us that the roast was no longer available - luckily, we weren’t wanting one. We arrived around half 8 despite our booking being made for 9 and were seated promptly however there was no information given on how to order, we saw the sticker on the table suggesting to use the app but we decided to order at the bar. A little communication would have been nice. Staff member tried really hard to appear happy and friendly but I could see he clearly wanted to finish and go home. Food arrived within 5 minutes of me sitting back down, food slapped on the plate, cold, bread was hard, butter was so hard I couldn’t spread it on my bread, the portions were also tight for the money, really quite disappointing considering we paid close to £30 for microwaved food. My partners burger came out wrong with no bacon but to be honest, we’d had that much of a long day and were that hungry we couldn’t be bothered to complain. No table check backs, nobody around to raise concerns to when we first were served our food. Towards the end, chefs kept appearing out of the kitchen walking by and gorping at us whilst we were trying to have our meal. They were clearly clearing down and made it known. Despite our table being booked for 9, we heard customers coming in being turned away.. before 9? As soon as we were finished we left and all of a sudden staff appeared to clear the table.. where were they prior to this? Wouldn’t recommend If you want a really nice hot meal Sorry (Make table check backs a priority)!

We were a group of 14 people and arrived promptly at 12 so the place was quiet,of the 14 people 9 had a carvery lunch and the other 5 had individual meals. The five individual meals arrived over an hour after every one else's and a child's meal of tomato pasta was changed at the last minute for Mac n cheese which looked very much like a microwave meal, given all this we were still expected to leave the table by 2/2.30pm . If it had been very busy I may have understood it but it was less busy than previous Sundays I have been, disappointed group for a family meal that could be the last for one of our party. Marie FARR, group booking for Clark.

We visited this evening for a quick meal on our way out. Food arrived quickly and didn’t disappoint, we had the curried skewer and 3 of the small plates. Great value for money and hot tasty food. We were served by Steven who came over to ask how our food was. He didn’t stop all night and josh who brought the drinks over was polite and well mannered. Would definitely return

Had a breakfast from here. The carvery breakfasts are lovely, fast paced environment and staff are lovely. Staff are well presented and the pub is always clean and tidy. The food is lovely and I will be returning.

Food was average for the price. Service was very poor. There were only 5 other couples eating, but the service was very slow, we ordered on the app, but it took over 10 minutes for the drinks to come, and when we ordered a sweet we had to go to the bar after 25 minutes as ask where it was to be told they hadn't checked the till for orders. Will not be going again.

Nice local carvery pub. Somehow we got a mostly empty Sunday!? Been here before for takeaway (yes takeaway Sunday roast carvery) but what stands this out the most is the cakeaway cakes they have. Just beware you only need one slice of the cake per person, they are huge and lovely. The food in general is solid and good range of choice even for the kids, it's pick and mix so its nice. Always worth a visit if your stuck for sure.

Had an amazing time at Ash Tree today. The service was extremely fast yet very attentive and the food was lovely. All the staff were extremely welcoming and I would like to shout out Adel and Emanuel working the carvery. Incredible customer service and very talkative with all the customers. Also very polite.
