This review is for swimming only. The changing area is an absolute disgrace. They have mud, talc, dirt, and blocked drains, and it makes it worse that the classes leave the clothes in the cubicals to make it harder to find one to change in. The toilets (Male) were today blocked and had overflown with toilet waste. This had not been cleaned even after the lesson and after reported to the member of staff in the changing area. The disabled toilet was full of wee, literally everywhere, so much so that i held my daughter over the seat so she wouldn't touch it! We have made the decision to stop going to lessons for various reasons, but this is a main cause today. It's simple cleaning and pool hygine 101! I can't imagine how bad the pool is with kids not showering feet first. We loved active Ashton, but that had to shut. Moving us to here.

The grandchildren had loads of fun, there is a climbing adventure for the older children (and adults if you feel brave enough) and soft play for the younger ones. Limited menu at the cafe but it was all cooked well and arrived quickly. Will be going again! Wasn't too busy at the 11.30 slot.

Bought a groupon voucher. Well worth a visit. The staff were lovely explaining how to use the equipment and helping the children. The climbing walls were fun, as was the hanging adventure. The children loved the cave you could crawl round (I didnt). The cafe was nice and the soft play was clean. It's a bit out of our way but will make an effort to go again.

Do not use for swimming lessons!!!! Took my 4 Yr old for her first experience. Within 5 minutes the instructors have ruined any and all confidence my daughter had! Changing rooms were dirty and over used with many areas "reserved" by other parents. Instructor had around 5 other new starters and to speed up pool entry a second instructor just picked up kids by their arm bands and dropped them into the pool! All these years building up my daughters trust and confidence around a pool to be ruined within 30 seconds!!! Now my daughter doesn't want to go near the pool again! Should have gone to the village hotel instead!!! No amount of half hearted apologies can fix this complete mess!!! GET BETTER TRAINED STAFF!!!!

Great soft play time at sky high with our nursery children. Used up loads of energy climbing, jumping, running, swinging, sliding down the slides with chuckles and squeals of excitement Staff were helpful and friendly. Well organised event.

My grandson used the climbing wall for the first time, and loved it. Good supervision and safety measures. Soft play was a bit crazy, but when a child ripped off his glasses (he's severely visually impaired) and he couldn't find them or us, staff and security were amazingly helpful.

Good deal on Group-on at time of writing. This place is great, clean, well priced with loads to do. There's a play frame, climbing walls, leap of faith, death drop, high climb and a caving section too (some are extra on admission). The cafe is well priced, with a good selection. We only did the play frame today but will most definitely be back to try the rest out.

Really nice and quiet leasure centre midweek at 3pm. Lots of showers. Female showers and changing rooms are separate. Lovely front of house staff. Very good value for money.

We went to a birthday party at Clip and Climb today. Both my children had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe was clean and tidy. We can’t wait to return.

Pool needs to be much warmer. We were shivering inside pool. Changing rooms were not warm. There were kids hitting each other with waggle in water. They could have hurt each other and rest of us as well.

Absolute disgusting customer service, these guys honestly don’t even know how to just answer a call, you have to call Atleast 16 times to get through to these guys to enquire a simple footbal pitch availability, and then when you call back to book you have to call another 13 times to get through to them, even after leaving voice mails they still don’t call back, and then eventually when they pick Up the pitch is gone and no empathy shown, there’s a reason why powerleague and Goals are way better than this joke of a business.

Bright cheery pool with anti wave on the sides. Apart from a few lane hogs who didn't show common swimming courtesy is a great place. Changing rooms are old as one would expect, but clean. The place could use some tlc with regards to the changing room stained floors, grouting and lockers. Looks well kept however so I would say it's a good place for ex comp swimmers to consider as an alternative to other local pools. One timing clock is working the other isn't, but hey guess what, there are TWO. As usual most of the swimming pools around Tameside dont put flags out for public lane swimming sessions which is a shame as it limits stroke enjoyment especially for backstrokers. Secondly its a slight safety issue without the flags. So the pool is not being maximised for its true purpose in my view. It's also good to have flags for learners so they can have visual makers for orientation whilst swimming a consideration school's and parents could pressure the swimlearning centres to consider.

Had Girls 6th Birthday Party recently. Good price for 15 kids including Warm food. Dealt with Very professionally from start to finish. Everything was exactly as described and kids warm food was more than enough for little bellies. Nice and easy to arrange and kids had a great time in the soft play area. Thanks to Joanne, Micheal and Team!

Brilliant place for kids of all ages! Have visited quite a few times with our 8 year old grandson who loves the clip and climb in particular. He is always keen to conquer his fears and was determined to try the Leap of Faith, although hesitant at first he finally made it with the encouragement and support of Caitlyn one of the Centre staff. Thank you Caitlyn, you are awesome!

We came here for the soft play. Kids loved it, it’s what you expect. I had an issue with the state of the unisex toilets where out of three cubicles one was zip tied shut. And one wouldn’t close due to the door not sitting correctly. There are others around the centre so use those if you can.

Review of the pool. Everything is fine and as expected, it's quite dated now but nothing wrong. Except for the accessible toilet in the changing rooms, it must get forgotten about when it comes to cleaning because every single time we have been in it, it's absolutely disgusting. Always poo on or around the seat and it just stinks. I'm not talking about a single occasion.

£2.10 for a pensioner swimming session is great, but this Council owned centre has everything needed to keep you fit at a reasonable price. Swimming, gymnasium, dancing, rick climbing, and free parking

Great place for kids to burn some energy off. We did the clip and climb as the 10 year old is too big for soft play nowadays

Went on the climbing walls with kids aged 8 and 11. I had a great time, it was very busy but we went on all the walls and thankfully there were ones to challenge me and ones easy enough for the kids to tackle. Great fun, I was worn out

Went with my grandchildren, too their swimming lesson and it looked great. Also has a climbing side, that I've been too before. Great for kids and easy parking outside. Has a great park outside for the kids. Still as good as ever. No change In jan 2023. Still the same..............

Good value and the kids really enjoyed it. The system to clip in and out is a bit fiddly at first, but fine once you get the hang of it. The staff were fantastic, really encouraging with the kids.

The staff are really friendly, I recently moved to the area so hadn't been before and they made me feel really welcome and put me at ease. I have used the pool and gym, can't complain with the pool, it's clean and wasn't very busy. In terms of the gym it feels abit neglected in comparison to the other Active Centres I've used. Some of the weight plates are missing as there only seems to be one or two of each weight for the barbells and there are a couple of machines they could do with e.g. A Lat Pull Down. I have gone 4* because it meets my requirements so it's only fair, would be a 5 with a slight gym upgrade.
