I had a wonderful evening at Kosen. My wife and I had the 20 course omakase experience. The quality of each dish and flavors were fantastic! Chef Chen and staff did an incredible job! It’s evident Chef Chen takes pride in the food he serves. The staff was personable and the service was top notch. Well done, Kosen! We look forward to seeing you all soon.

We had a great experience here. The Omakase experience was exceptional. 20 course meal and I kept saying this is the best one. It was truly delicious. The chief made it seamless. Great job chief. We were a party of six and the other couple had the same experience at a Michelin star restaurant and they kept saying this is 1000 times better. The wine selection is limited but let me tell you it’s great selection and everyone was pleased. I’ve tried the Sake, white and red wine and all three selection was spectacular. We would definitely go back.

It was our first time trying Omakase and we had an incredible, intimate experience. If you love seafood or sashimi/nigiri, fresh fish, or Japanese cuisine — you NEED to try this spot! It is a bit on the pricier end, but it’s so worth it. From start to finish, every course was incredible and so flavorful. The care and meticulous details put into each dish were apparent. They even prepared fresh wasabi in front of you. The Tamago at the end was out of this world - best Tamago we ever had. Without a doubt, Kosen is bound to get Michelin recognition. Can’t wait to dine here again!

Kosen was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the Tampa Bay Area. The service level was incredible, I have no doubt they will be getting at least 1 Michelin star. Chef was friendly, engaged and personable during the entire tasting. I’ll be back once the tasting menu changes up!

The omakase is a truly incredible experience. Every aspect of it, the food, the presentation, the service, was exceptional. Chef Wei Chen's menu was amazing. The flavors were very well balanced and we loved his use of ingredients and flavors, the dishes were very creative and well thought out. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone.

Wow! What a great experience we had last night. The entire team was fantastic and created a night for us all to remember. Watching the chef and sous chef create our dishes with such care and detail was definitely the highlight. I'm still thinking about how excellent the food was. The sommelier offers a fantastic wine/sake pairing to go along with the courses. Highly recommend it if it's within your budget. Thanks to the Kosen team!

There was nothing about this experience that was not five stars. From the gracious host staff, to the experienced waiters, the management, the amazing sommelier, nothing was left unthought of. Now the chef and his sidekick...they are on a whole other level. These guys are artists. Every single dish was prepared and thought of perfectly. Nothing but the freshest and finest. Photos do not do their work justice. This is a must-try experience. The 20-course meal was perfect.

This is Tampa's first Michelin star experience imo! We have eaten at many 3-star Michelin restaurants and the omakase experience at Kosen is right up there. To be picky (so picky that I am treating Kosen as though it already has been awarded 3-stars), I would say that the reception bar and sommelier could have been a bit more enhanced and personable, but I don't think this was an intended highlight of the program anyhow. It was all about the omakase, and to that end it was spectacular. In contrast to other michelin-star level experiences, there was not much trickery or shock/awe tactics other than the lobster dish perhaps, which was flavored with a dashi that oddly resembled the taste 1970s high end, vintage leather? This is not a knock on the dish, as it was one of my personal favorites and the most exciting bite I've had all year, but this was the only curveball dish. Every other dish was straightforward, classic omakase style delivered with technical superiority. Short of Japan, I really can't imagine having a better omakase experience. This is a sea-change for Tampa, and imo marks the moment when the city has FINALLY opened its doors for real, world-class gastronomy.
