I was really worried it was going to be sketchy, but it wasn't. Great price, and nice staff. I don't know the history of the place, but it looks like it used to be an apartment complex in the ...40's? ...20's? Our room was a whole one-bedroom apartment with separate living room, bedroom, breakfast nook and kitchen (with back stairs!) No secret it's old, and the no-front-desk thing threw me, but we had a nice stay.

The most peaceful, very caring staff who serve god. Its ABSOLUTELY amazing. Hospital is a 2 minute walk from the hotel, if you dont want to walk. A shuttle vehicle will pick you up , no charge to you, honest I have been blessed to be here. But I'm biased in a good way ๐Ÿ‘

Villa de Leon is a lovely place to stay if you need to be near Tampa General Hospital. Because it is just a five-minute walk to the hospital, the location is ideal. It has the attributes one might expect in a nearly century old building. I found the accommodations to be charming and comfortable. The neighborhood behind the hotel is a pleasant place to take a walk. Most notably, the staff of the hotel is wonderfulโ€”friendly and helpful. Should the need arise, Villa de Leon will be my first choice for accommodations.

Temporary living since Aug9 2020. Husband and I were Assaulted on Motorcycle on Aug2. Husband was still in hosp. This place is a taste of Heaven. Safe!! And secure!! Here. My husband was released Nov 6. We headed home Dec 19 2020. I miss this Heavenly place and all the ones that work there who I saw daily. Canโ€™t wait to visit again. Thankyou!! Jack&Eric and Susan along with Dean&Elisabeth and Frank&George. Miss Jacks dog Reef and Susanโ€™s tiny dog Bella.

I never stayed here but I rented in the building behind it and knew a few people who lived there when they were apartments in the mid 90's. Also loved this building, when did it become a hotel? Great location and architecture as well.

Loved this place. The place was spotless,. Everything was in good repair. Susan was a peach and was helpful and accommodating. The building holds much of it's 1925 charm. You have everything you need and it is very close to Tampa general hospital. I would recommend it and stay there again

This 1925 apartment style hotel is a gem. It far exceeded my expectations. It is spacious and I loved the daybed in its living room where I slept next to the ac, leaving my husband the bedroom so he could have a warmer room. It has old fashioned charm with stucco walls and antique hardware on the cabinet locks. It has updated curtains, beautiful wood floors and powerful individual air conditioning units. The courtyard has a very nice breeze with lovely sounds from its water fountain. This was the perfect location for me to wait out my hubbyโ€™s surgery across the street from Tampa General. I love to walk so I could cross over the bridge and stroll over to Publix in 15 minutes or head towards downtown Davis Island for a great Mexican Lunch under $10. The staff is catering to your every need. I am ready to move in here!

The hotel was nice enough. I just didn't care too much about the old man working there. He talked about himself and his struggles too much. And it bothered me that he had no problem with discussing previous customers problems and or issues. How unprofessional! Furthermore he talked about how he wasn't getting paid enough and he also was ok with showing his dislike for his fellow co-worker. His lack of professionalism and how freely he is about telling strangers about a person's problems just left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, the hotel is nice enough, just sounds like they need a new manager or maintenance guy.
