We saved a visit to this museum for the summer as an indoor activity for hot days. Definitely will visit here again. We learned new things and the section for kids definitely kept the attention of our 3 year old. We should’ve come here sooner! Joy was working when we arrived and she was so friendly and helpful. If you’re a Tampa resident, make this a must-see on your list to learn some background of our city.

This museum is definitely worth the trip and one of the volunteers, Joy, was most helpful and informative. The museum Chronicles all the way back to the history of the Ybor city fires and the progressive molding of the Tampa fire fighter department. Admission is free but I definitely recommend a donation. They also have a gift shop with several trinkets and T-shirts.

We had a great time visiting with my dad Captain Denver K. Smith who served for over 30 years with the City of Tampa fire department. He really enjoyed going down memory lane. An extra bonus was to see that they had a huge picture of my husband HCFR retired Captain Jerry Smith from a 1999 fire at Carlton arms apartments.

This was my second visit and it was just great. Went here with two friends and we got a tour with a retired firefighter that was extremely informative. It was about a 1.5 hour tour and we were even given the opportunity to go across the street to the actual Tampa fire department headquarters and check out some of the equipment they have their which is pretty impressive. I highly recommend it. It's also free to the public but they solicit donations.

A wonderful display of antique firefighter equipment and memorabilia. I loved their support for pediatric burn patients by holding the annual 5K fire Tampa run!!!! Overall, a great place to visit and come thank the firefighters of our city.

This place was *So* fun with my 7 year old. The information about each idea or area was so easy to understand. It's not a huge place, and that was perfect for a quick hour or so. Thier 9/11 memorial was so touching. So glad I chose to come here.

A small, free museum that details the history of Tampa's fire department. The volunteers that run the museum are pretty knowledgeable and there is also an audio tour available for those who would like to go through the museum solo. There's a little play area for children that allows them to dress up as firefighters. The top floor can be rented for events. Despite the signs threatening a tow, the adjacent parking lot has been leased by the muse so there is also free parking.

I just ran in to buy a Christmas gift at the store, so I didn't tour the museum. From what I saw, I'm going to try to get back and do that. As far as my shopping experience, they were super nice and helped me find exactly what I was looking for and made sure the size was right. They have limited hours, but I was told to call if they're closed because there's usually someone right upstairs who can help.

We love the Tampa Fire Museum. It has a special place in our family's hearts. My father, Capt. Michael J. Morris, retired from the Tampa Fire Department and he was a founding Committee/Board member during the startup of the Museum. It has come a long way since then and Capt. Bill Wade, the Museum President, has done an amazing job with the Museum. This building has a lot of history. Please stop by for a visit and support the Museum, to preserve the amazing history of the Tampa Fire Department and it's heroes who have served and are continuing to serve and protect Tampa. Thank you Capt. Wade. John and Susan Morris

Excellent museum set up of what was originally Station 1 built in the early 20th century. They have various memorabilia of Tampa Fire Department history including a couple antique Fire Engines and the preserved watch room. There's also a play Fire truck and gear for the kids to dress up and have some fun. Also, check out the Museum store for unique Tampa Fire apparel!

Awesome place to explore if you like firefighting or history! The staff was very friendly and helpful we actually had a really good conversation with them about Tampa (not from the area) so they were helpful guides and I would definitely give this new museum a 10/10 ! More things are being added I was told so can’t wait to check it out again.

Great little museum. We got a personal tour just for the four people in our party and the guide (I forgot his name, sorry!) was already waiting for his guests from afar. He went above and beyond, told lots of stories from the fire stations history and also compared the US fire stations with German ones we know from home. Make a reservation in advance. A donation is definitely in order! The shirts in the little gift shop are really not expensive!

I would love to leave a positive review but I can never get anyone to contact me back. The hours say it is open, there is no one there. I call, no call back. I email, no reply. I facebook message, no reply. My wife and I have been trying to check this place out for a couple years with no success. Maybe this review will work?
