Old Steel Railroad Bridge

Tourist attraction β€’ Historical landmark

πŸ‘ It's ugly as all hell, but its historic and kind of neat looking so I hope it stays around, the city won't look quite the same without it.

The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (now part of CSX) built it in 1915. It’s definitely a local landmark and it lowers for railroad traffic at least once a day.

It’s the weirdest thing to see along the river lol it’s neat looking on its own but a total eyesore for where it’s at.

I came from Japan for work and walked there from the hotel I was staying at near the airport. I heard that in the past, Amtrak trains leaving the Tampa station used this bridge to go to towns in the south. The imposing movable bridge has now finished its role and stands quietly on the bank of the river.

Nice for walking but not as an attraction or a place to drive a long distance to.
